I was so pleased to find out these folks were less than a minute away from where I was working in NE Cinci. I was in the market for a MacBook upgrade; and after creating a short list on eBay, I went right over to the store to check them out. Charlie was very happy to bring my choices out to the front counter to play with, and I really appreciate being able to "try before I buy". Most of the models had some scuffs, scratches and dings. A couple of years ago I sold an old iMac to these guys. It was so easy and quick that I just sold them an old Macbook Air because I wanted to get a refurbished Macbook. Really easy to fill out the information on their website and get a quote by email. They sent a free Fedex mailing lable by email, with clear instructions. I took the laptop to Fedex and got a laptop mailing box, and off it went. I have gotten the check for the full amount from Sell Your Mac, and will cash it tomorrow. I don't have to buy a new mac from Apple to sell an old mac. I now keep my Mac original box so I can easily send them when its time to upgrade. I was looking to sell my ~4 year old Macbook, so I compared prices at Gazelle, Apple, Amazon and SellYourMac. This one offered me the best price (by a pretty good margin), so I went with them. It was pretty easy, but they didn't send me a pre-printed label or box like other companies usually do, which was a little annoying since I didn't have easy access to a printer. After a couple days, they did email me and ask if I wanted them to mail me that, but I had already printed out a label by that point, so I don't know if they would have charged me a fee for that or not. After I mailed the laptop, it took about a week for them to email me and say they received it, and another day for them to verify it and send me the money. The payment was issued through PayPal with no fees. Overall, it was a relatively quick and easy experience, plus I got more money than I would've from the bigger name companies, so I'm happy! I used sellyourmac.com to sell my iPhone. I sent photos and a description of an iPhone in near perfect condition, and they sent a quote. I accepted the quote, and they sent me mailing labels.. I took the phone, in its original box, to a professional shipping service, who packed it and sent it. Sellyourmac.com next contacted me to say that my iPhone was not in the condition I described ("The screen is slightly discolored, there is scratching on the back and side/front silver bezel, the phone itself is physically bulging, and finally, the camera does not work. Also, the charger cord was frayed and therefore discarded) and that they were reducing my quote by $40. I knew that their description did not match my iPhone so I wrote to them to tell them so. They wrote back to say "It is immediately obvious that the battery has expanded. I have attached several photos for your review. The entire casing has been pushed open, this is causing the other issues." This was a different description than the damage they first described. I emailed to say that I was beginning to think this was a scam and perhaps they should just send me my iPhone back. They wrote back to say, "As I understand this was not an issue when you had the phone and you do not believe it happened in shipping (or has happened at all), I will go ahead with your your payment. Please understand that the phone is in fact more or less a paper weight now, so you would not be happy to receive the item back (though it would prove that is has expanded and is in fact broken)."
