I found Sam's Computer Solutions and noticed it had over 100+ 5 Star Google reviews so I gave the shop a call and described my issue. He had flexible and fast availability and I was able to schedule an appointment to drop off my PC within two hours of making the call (the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend). The gentleman who greeted me was friendly, reassuring, and professional. He clearly outlined what options I had, what the price points for each option was, if and how each option would or would not change functionality, and asked which option I'd prefer! He made sure I was comfortable with the pricing before moving forward. It sounded good so I left my PC and he assumed me it was in good hands. I got a text the following Monday morning (A holiday no less) saying my PC was ready to be picked up. The repair cost was exactly the lowest price he had quoted. I made an appointment to pick it up later that afternoon. Upon arrival he described everything he did to fix it (installation of new component, where he wound the additional length of wire if I wish to change the placement of the part, and let me know he dusted everything which I appreciate). I just got home and plugged in my PC and the hardware he installed worked perfectly! I am extremely satisfied with how Sam's Computer Solutions handled me every step of the way from initial phone call to pickup. I had no idea that that was an issue so I didn't mention it when I dropped my phone off. Not only that, when I did drop my phone off, they didn't even ask for my name OR a number to reach me at. I found this to be REALLY sketchy. I told them my name anyway and they put a small sticker on my phone with my last name on it. They told me it'd cost $75, that was considerably cheaper than the first time I got the screen replaced so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They told me to come back for my phone in an hour. I went shopping for an hour and half and came back. When I came back, they told me they couldn't fix the screen because it was already fixed before. Since it was apparently replaced with a screen that isn't authentic (which I was not aware of, it says "Samsung" on it....), they told me that it would cost $129 because they would need to replace the LCD screen as well. They guaranteed that they would crack the screen if they pulled the replaced screen off. I'm going to assume that replacing the LCD screen is some sort of liability... Which is funny since not getting any of my information sounds like that could have been a liability, could it not? I decided to look for more estimates because that is ridiculous. Especially since they didn't get a number to contact me on. My screen is also a lot looser than it was before I brought it in. I was considering not fixing the screen and just living with the crack but now it's mandatory that I get the screen replaced. I found another store that estimated me at the same price, if I can't find anything better (though I may be able to get it replaced for $89 at a location farther away, feel free to ask me about it), I will be taking my business there. I am visiting from Los Angeles and back home, they always ask for some contact information to let you know that they are done fixing your phone. The cell phone repair store I normally go to even checks in while he's repairing.
