From out of towners opinion: what an AWFUL experience ! This venue was carefully selected because it's the favorite place to eat by my late nephew. It was his memorial service reception for 65 people. The venue is small but cozy ( a combination of all you can eat buffet resto and Filipino store). Management are very cold not a very customer service atmosphere. No one overseeing as to who's from the memorial service guests and who's just from the store side customers who decided to go to buffet line. The SIGNAGE "Private Party" was facing buffet line not in plain view. Therefore when it's time for paying the bills the manager presented the total guests as 85 instead of 65 including children under 12yrs old. The manager charged $ 10 across the board including children and senior citizens. Yelp previously posted discounts for senior and kids NOT AT THIS RECEPTION. The Lechon was previously quoted as $300 but changed on the day of reception to $350 and one set price for buffet which is $ 10 each including seniors and children. WHERE IS THE DISCOUNT? Is it because the person who made the reception arrangements a non speaking Filipino? Food are not as good as was posted on the review in Yelp. Never to use this restaurant for events unless there is a written contract signed by both parties. I'm sending a copy of this review to Better Business bureau and local health food services. Since I am not a Filipino, I can't tell it is real Filipino or not. But if you tell me this style is common in Philippines, I will have no doubt about it. The food is not pretty, but it is as home-made as you can get. There is no quality service, but people there are very nice. We went there on a Sunday about 12:30 PM and the place was packed with Filipino families who had been at church. I was not sure we were going to find a table, but the man carving the roast pig found us a table for two right away. It was obvious that we were there a bit after the buffet was prime because the bbq pig was mostly gone, but I got a couple of slices and then added a bunch of Filipino dishes. I have no idea what I added from the buffet table because nothing was labeled, but it was all good. Oh, and the meat carver made sure I got some crispy pig rind along with the bbq pig meat. It was a little disconcerting because it is hard to understand the Filipino accent, but the procedure is that you grab a plate and eat what you want from the buffet and whenever you are ready to leave you walk to the other side of the room where the cash register for the grocery store is and just tell them that you had the buffet. It was not clear to me that there was any way to order from a menu. The buffet seemed like the only way to eat. Maybe on weekdays it is different. All said and done, I would go back in an instant. Very unprofessional. And over priced due to Buffet trays cold with not heat whatsoever keeping the food warm. A group of 3 came in and complained and was given a option for a 1 free item. I requested to do the same and was told that i and my wife could not because we served our selfs a plate of the old cold food. The noddles section was ok. Talked to the owner Rey on the phone days before our event. He sounded very accommodating and booked our group's anniversary brunch at this place. I initially booked for 35 and asked him if the place could fit us and I was affirmed that they will. A day before I called him again to reconfirm and told him we'll have more people coming and we're looking at about 45-50 pax and he said there's no problem ( he sounded excited as it's more customers for them). The day came and some of our group arrived before they were even open. Rey was not there and the mean lady who opened the door was giving us a very small spot that could only fit barely 20 people. She said some of you can sit here and some will be there on the other side. Of course we got upset. I asked for Rey and she said he's not here sounding very rude. It's a group event of course we want to be seated together. We were requesting to put us in a larger space since the other area was still empty and she said I can't coz it's for another event. What the heck!! Of course I started complaining coz Rey told me something else. There's no way all of us can fit in that small spot we said and she responded with a sarcastic voice "WHAT DO U WANT ME TO DO?" What a B*** She doesn't know what customer service is!! We all turned around very upset and ended up eating at FilHOuse. They just lost 50 customers and their respective families and friends and getting a very bad review. Wait for my colleague's review. We tried the buffet after lunch and the lechon was already all bones left (nalimas na) and still displayed there (our friend said, we should come earlier around 11am). The remaining food at this time was not warm and tasted unremarkable. The place smells old and looks messy with some pinoys loitering in front of the TV watching and chatting - making it like a 'tambayan for oldies' and not much of an 'inviting' restaurant. I feel that cheap buffets like this, don't care much about replenishing the buffet dishes often or changing its menu regularly - they seem to cater more for the local pinoy neighborhood (and surviving) but not much of giving a good impression to other new customers. my goodness!!! their point and pick style hole in the wall restaurant inside the grocery is a FIND!!!!! check it out....for about 5 bucks and something cents, ALL YOU CAN EAT filipino food. all the dishes are cooked homestyle; they got everything from menudo, sinagang, fried fish, pancit, adobo, pinakbet, etc. (and of course they change it up everyday, so you never know what you'll come across to each time you visit) and they taste great. i'm just blown away because the last time i remembered eating like this was back in the philippines at the cuttiest of all places. lunchtime is the most perfect time to come and eat because that's whe they break out the just-cooked food, just in time for tfc and wowowee via their tvs overhead (hahahahahaa!!!) read more

We had all you could eat lunch of Filipino food with some twenty or more selections for under $7 each. This is an incredible bargain and the food was fairly good. What really clinched it for us was the very friendly proprietor who told us to go eat and pay later but then identified each dish for us, recommending certain ones and pleasantly answering every question we had. She even gave us some free special desserts to try when we paid at the end. (After buying some long sought after items from their grocery store.) Such down to earth, genuine friendliness is rare enough but the price and wide selection of food earn this a five. I don't think you can prepare the food yourself for less money and who wants to spend all the time doing so? This seems to be an ideal place to try Filipino food. You can write down your favorite dishes and then order them next time you go to a more formal Filipino restaurant for dinner. Thanks. read more

We went there around 230pm on yesterday Friday, 12/18/16. The food items were cold. It did not help that the place too was cold and the heater was not turned on. The soup was still hot, which was good. Next to the soup was the dessert. It would be nice if the food items were kept hot the entire time. The place was probably saving electricity because I had been at this place during lunchtime and the food items were warm. It is unfortunate that we did not enjoy the meal. We will still go back as the food choices were not bad. We will just have to come earlier for lunch. read more

If you are craving for Filipino dishes, this might be a place worth checking out. Their not much for ambiance but food is good. Adobo, bistek,pinakbet, dinuguan, munggo and a lot more. By the way it's buffet. You pay like $6+. One Sunday when I went, they were even serving lechon de leche. The soup that they serve now is not as tasty as the sinigang soup they use to serve. By the way they have a salad bar that's part of the buffet too. The best time to go is around 11:00. Late in the afternoon, they are only trying to finish selling what's left. so the food are not as appetizing and appealing. And definitely not good for buffet anymore. Even "to go" is not advisable. The bossman of this establishment was curious with me because of the fact that I'm Mexican-American and eventhough he was making an extra effort to relate with me and educate me on the selection of the food, I felt like I was being a little singled out because I never even asked about the food and just told him I was just there for the buffet. But that was the only thing "negative" and if being friendly is such a bad thing, then don't bother going in. It would be your loss because the food is excellent and for under $7 it is possibly the best and only filipino buffet in the area. Another thing, the bossman didn't even charge me for a separate drink so even if he might have assumed I was some uncultured, stupid American from his perspective, I benefitted from being under his microscope. Next time I walk in, I'm going to surprise him by inviting my Filipino friends and cause a huge scene speaking nothing but Tagalog towards him. I'll then leave him a generous tip. read more
