a view of a restaurant with a buffet

Was on the search for dilis (deep fried smelt in Filipino). I went to multiple spots in this plaza and Selecta had some ready in their buffet food area. The worker allowed me to purchase all of them after lunch and he said if I needed more in the future I could order and give him 15-20 minutes. I like how fried and crispy they are and taste just like chips. They pair well with their house made spicy vinegar. This spot takes me back to a Filipino grocery, carendaria/sari sari store from the Philippines. They have a buffet full of food that I believe regulars go to. The food looked really good inside, like legit home cooked meal ands and ready to eat. It's out in the open and had tons of food for a Friday. I need to give it a try and experience it myself. They also have a grocery store area that doesn't seem too up to date but it looks like this spot has been here for a while. It's located in the Island Pacific plaza so there is plenty of parking in the area and can get busy.

Very delicious filipino food & very affordable buffet! $14.99 Highly recommended! Try this restaurant for sure you will love it!

The price is very reasonable for a buffet (I think $12.50 on weekends). It's not the best tasting Filipino food but for the price, it's alright. There's lechon, kare kare, dinuguan, pancit, fried chicken, whole salmon, pancit, monggo, and more. The only issue is, they don't refill some of the empty trays and the guest just have to make do with what's available.

My faves: sinigang na baboy, palabok, bistek and hella rice lol

Man, this is one of those places I haven't thought to review because it's second nature to come here. My family and I have been going here since it opened when I was just a child. The owner is always so nice and pleasant, talking to his customers, keeping up with them and their lives. I love buffets since the food is already there and available for when your starving and don't want to wait for your order. It's tradition to come here after church and for some reason, I'm always starving after church lol. I always look forward to sinigang and bistek here but unfortunately, sinigang is not always served. They alternate between sinigang and nilaga which I'm not too fond of. Although I understand they want to variate their selection, I have to dock a star for that. The grocery needs a lil make over but other than that, this place has never done me wrong and it truly is nostalgic to come here when I visit my parents in Vallejo. Definitely worth having a meal here when in town!

Friendly people, clean and who knew there is a restaurant right there in the grocery store! The food isn't bad ...the coffee, now THAT's bad but I would have been surprised if the coffee had been good. None of the buffet items are labeled probably because they serve traditional Filipino food and their clientele is return customers. It was not packed but got very busy and then not so busy then busy again. Then about half way through they wheeled out an entire roast pig! I thought that was really a great move and very generous. I do not eat pork but my friend did and he says it was great. Fresh traditional Filipino food, friendly staff in a very surprising spot and the price is very reasonable. I say check it out.

I am sure due to our drought, Buffet prices went up - $8.59. Still a great deal!

When I arrived at the plaza, I walked around, saw Ihaw-Ihaw (a "roast meats" place), then just walked on to see a "Buffet" sign.

Somewhat of a small(ish) neighborhood grocery store that also sells tacos/burritos/prepared fruits/fresh guacamole. I was able to buy everything I needed to prepare a feast of street tacos, elote salad, and shrimp ceviche. I like that they have their own parking lot behind the store for easy parking. I will definitely go back to try more of the marinated meats! The meat counter was fast

Like to get ripped off? Love wasting your money for…read morerelentless overpriced products? Most if not all no longer price labelled? Then go to El 2 de Oros! There it will be your chance to empty your wallet quickly with totally overpriced products! We where out of milk so I went to get a quart as we live around the corner on Alabama St. I gave the cashier a $5 bill but was stunned when I got only 49 cents back! $ 4.51 for a quart of milk???? WTF!? So for a gallon you "need to get a bank loan"? I asked and the cashier confirmed. I said NO! Not like that! I'm not paying artificially greedy inflated prices like that! We can do without. The buck stops here! The store manager had to be called as I wanted a refund. I told him that all grocery stores in the are, even overpriced Safeway charges far less for a quart; $ 1.98 and al their products are price labelled. He snapped back: "Then go buy it there!" Thanks! I will! I'm done with you! I know "El de 2 Oros "for over 15 years and it used to have price labels on products and fairly reasonable prices. Not anymore! Since the Covid hysteria --which they still practice by running around in masks-- They no longer label anything and their prices have gone through the roof. Carpe Diem, greed is good? Milk & bilk? I once got slapped with almost $ 30.- charge for a few apples and oranges! So a couple of years ago I suggested to the store manager to do at least a price range labeling as it would give buyers a fair chance and decision and not get sucker punched once the cashier rung all up and then having to wait for an refund/exchange process. Nah, to much work... I'm done with them! As a consumer, a client and I have the right to know the price of items before and not "after the fact" purchase!

I have progressed to a point that bon in ribeye with beautiful marbling is the go to but I still have the urge of my youth including a box of Pasta-roni shells and white cheddar.... Yes I know I am ashamed but it brings me happiness. I went to foodmaxx and the veg was lacking today, the greenbeans which are normally in a box were nonexistent, the broccoli which I "fought" a lady that was plucking florets was alright but I just feel slighted after everything. I moved over to the steaks (the reason I was there) and found some thick chuck steaks and made everything better! I was happy there and ended up in the hot sauce isle cause that is my guilty pleasure and grabbed a Caribbean bottle to give a go!

So I had written a review on FoodMaxx one of our local grocery stores a couple months ago. Since…read morethat time I've been in the store a half dozen times. As I mentioned before, I have never seen anybody from the management team, walking the floor, checking the ad items talking to customers, etc.. the last three times in the store I could see that they only turn on half of the store lights on to save money. It's so dark inside the store completely ! The store honestly is like a frozen food locker. It is so cold in there and so dark.. I really can't believe that this company is part of Savemart or Luckys because the way this store is run and let go. It's an absolute dump. There's no other word for it except that all the other grocery stores in the area are maintained the people working there in management seem to be a tentative. The best part about this store is the loyal workers that put up with the BS that they have to on a daily basis. If I want to rate this stores, as a secret shopper they would fail they would clearly get an F. The employees would get an A because they are there trying their best under these BS conditions day after day putting up with the same thing that the customers have to put up with. What a F' en disgrace. Corporate and lack of onsite management complete failure!!! I love it when you write a survey about your experience, on Yelp the business will then write something generic reply that is not genuine like call this number and talk to CUSTOMER SERVICE or were sorry maybe next time there's only one time the time that we are in the business they try to make excuses and it's complete BS so let me get this straight. I need to get on the phone and call your corporate office to babysit you and your store and your location and the problems because you weren't man enough to handle it yourself and I have nothing better to do than to babysit you people.? Absolutely ridiculous a perfect example of Customer service business related failures!! These pictures that I posted were similar to the pictures that I had written maybe six months ago about this location. The bathroom are absolutely filthy. The on tights is a shoe string meaning that's not enough help. I've never seen the management walking the floor checking out the pro rates they add merchandise or even greeting. The customers there is no customer service except for the dedicated wonderful employees that have to work twice as much to make up for lack of staffing so that the upper management gets a nice lack of labor bonus!! Look below there is a generic comment just like I said this company does not care that their store looks like zhit they could care less!

Despite having eight checkout lanes, they rarely have more than one or two open, resulting in consistently long lines. When I've asked management why so few registers are open, the responses have ranged from "the thingy isn't working" to "we're understaffed." They've been using the understaffing excuse for literally the past ten years, yet nothing ever changes. The manager is extremely unpleasant and unnecessarily rude. No pleasantries whatsoever so ever. Just barks excuses while she walks away. Be very careful with the produce. I've repeatedly found moldy fruits and vegetables on the shelves, and it's worth checking expiration dates on other items as well. The restrooms are also in poor condition, and the floors throughout the store are consistently dirty. The district manager should be ashamed. They obviously care more about cutting corners than the community that supports this business. There are much better grocery stores elsewhere. Will continue to update this review each time I have a negative experience with more details. Do better Safeway.
