Great littlte store downtown to fill in your specialities needs. This mom and pop shop has just the right mix to of goods to tide you over between those Trader joes or Whole food runs. Get to know the sweet owner Jessica and let her take you down memory lane with the orgin story of the place. I was thoroughly impressed with all the goods I picked up that day ...Stop in soon.. Ciao for now!

So happy to know this establishment exists. I live shopping for different food items to add to my pantry. This store has so much to offer. Glad I chose to come here to treat myself for my birthday with anything I thought would be good. The shop is brightly lit and the woman who was working there was so nice and helpful. She gave me suggestions of what to pair with my new jams and also gave me a sample of some new chocolates. Of course I had to buy some !! it was to good not to buy. This is my new spot to come to when I need some new or different food items.

I stumbled across Anchor Pantry a few years ago when locals were posting about this new gourmet good store in Vallejo on nextdoor.com. Back then, it was a small, cute store on Marin St . with lots of offerings to choose from. I also met the owner Jessica, who was very passionate of her business and I was so happy she chose to open shop in my neighborhood. I purchased a few items and was planning to coming back to check more items out. It didn't happen right away as tragedy struck; her store was damaged by arson... Despite this setback, I was so proud our community coming together, exceeding the gofundme goal to help the owners get the Anchor Pantry back up and running. That was 2 years ago... I was recently looking for the "viral" Dubai Chocolate bar and found out that Anchor Pantry carried it in their store. I was shocked to see how Anchor Pantry has grown, with a bigger store and so many selections! I found several pistachio items to satisfy my cravings and for great gift items. Also found my favorite truffle potato chips and Rustic Bakery shortbread. If ever in Vallejo, support local and come visit Anchor Pantry! It's such a great gourmet store that you definitely will enjoy finding something here!

If your diet is gluten free... Anchor pantry in Vallejo is well worth a visit. TASTY BAGELS, BREADS, CRACKERS, ITALIAN PASTAS. Experience with many types of gluten free pastas (usually not so delicious) leads me to recommend Jessica @ Anchor Pantry's selections. I have tried them + all are superior.. The Bagels are also terrific! There are many offerings @ Anchor Pantry + Jessica's is so helpful + knowledgeable!

Good quality store for all your foodie mercantile needs. The store carries anything from coffee, hot sauces, jams, alcohol concoction ingredients (But does not sell alcohol), quality cheeses and many other items... For such a small store I found it a little overwhelming in a certain way because there is much to look at, but don't worry, the owner is very helpful and helping you decide what you should purchase if you have questions. If I lived in the area I would be coming here very frequently. But when we pass through, we'll give it a stop. Downtown Vallejo is pretty darn cool. There's a bookstore across the street, Alibi Books, Mare Island Brewery is just a stone's throw away. So definitely if you're in the area or you need a destination in the afternoon be sure to come to the shop!

Ask the Community - Anchor Pantry

Do you sell dry ice?

No, Sorry! I believe Raley's Southampton Benicia used to carry it, perhaps they still do!? I think Powell brothers Feed Store in Vallejo has it.

Do you carry Boudin Noir (Blood Sausage)?

Hello Winston, I can get it but don't have it normally. It is a special order product. Takes Two weeks' or more lead time. It comes fully cooked in 1 lb. packages. Cost is approx $16/lb which is 4 links each pack. If you are interested, you can call… Read more

I got an assortment of Turkish delight and some pistachio baklava ($2.99). The Turkish delight is sold by weight across all the varieties and goes for $16.99/lb. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and offered us a sample of one of the flavors to try which I thought was a nice gesture. Everything looked so good, so we picked a couple different pieces of Turkish delight to try. To my surprise, my favorite ended up being the saffron, though rose petal with pomegranate and sour cherry with pastachio were close seconds. I didn't like the coconut or the chocolate one that much, so reminder to myself to skip those next time. After picking up the dessert, I did a quick circle around the store to see what they had. It's not a big store but they manage to cram a lot of stuff into the limited space!

The café bartenders are always kind -- once they even let me use the bathroom before I realized the laundromat had one. I've ordered a beer while waiting for my clothes to dry and was welcomed to sit with my dog on the back patio. The atmosphere is warm and accommodating. The market itself is a treasure trove: shelves filled with Middle Eastern dry goods, nuts, dried fruits, spices, blends, and condiments you can't find anywhere else. Kofta, shish kebab, falafel, sumac, garam masala -- it's all here. They also carry pita, lavash, labna, and other breads and yogurts that make cooking from scratch feel like heaven. Bonus points for the large assortments of delicious house made baklavas! Even without a full kitchen, the prepared foods are excellent. I ordered falafel, eggplant dip, hummus, and cucumber salad from the to‑go counter -- a mini feast for $26 that didn't disappoint. **Verdict:** Courteous service, respectful staff, and a fantastic selection. Whether you're cooking at home or grabbing a bite, this place is a gem. Highly recommended.

I have shopped at this store many times and they have a nice selection of Middle Eastern products…read more I like to cook and I find the things I need at the store. They have the best Pita bread. I have had good service from the people working there except for one older man who I think is the owner. Every time he is working there he is very grumpy looking and he glares at me like he doesn't want me there or something. I usually just ignore it, but the last time I went there he was extremely RUDE and disrespectful. I left without buying my items and I will never go back. I noticed there was another customer commenting here who noticed the same thing about this man when he shopped there. He should not be working in customer service.

I discovered Apna Bazaar about a year ago when I was looking for a place to find some Indian…read morespices and Middle Eastern ingredients. My first visit when I needed help Irene was quick to come over and showed me where the pickled turnips were. I felt quite welcome. My second visit a few weeks later I found the garam masala easily but had difficulty finding a couple of other herbs so asked the gentleman up front for assistance and he was most gracious. He found one easily but the other was a bit more difficult. He told me to finish my shopping as he searched and sure enough, a few minutes later he came over to me and gave me the Asafoetida. At checkout I mentioned that I had just gotten into Indian cinema and loved Aamir Khan, two of his films, PK and Laal Singh Chaddha (An Indian remake of Forrest Gump that was portrayed so brilliantly by Aamir Khan.) being some of my favorites. He then wrote down the name of another film for me to enjoy. And today I visited again and got everything I needed ( I love those MTR Minute meals! Just pop the packet in boiling water and in 5 minutes a delicious meal for when I am too tired to cook.) and checked out. My bag was a bit heavy and as soon as I paid Irene, she was up front today, picked it up and said she'd bring it to my car. (These days I am having mobility issues and use a cane.) I am sorry others have had a bad experience but for me I love this place. I have always gotten great service and love the selection. And I am not one to write reviews, I've written less than 10 on Yelp. Many thanks to Apna, and thank you Irene. :-) I hope I spelled your name correctly.
