Located downtown Vallejo with plenty of street parking and nearby lots. This place Jessica, the owner, has opened is a little slice of Heaven. I almost wanted to gate keep this place but it's a local favorite that you absolutely must check out. It's one of those places that never disappoints, unless of course the item you want is out of stock but just let her know and she will get that ordered for you! The store is filled with a variety of fresh, packaged, frozen, dried, refrigerated products- there's just something for everyone. It's amazing what you will find. I especially love the fresh breads, cheeses, ice cream and snacks. I'm impressed with the different sections: they have low sugar, vegan and gluten free products all clearly labeled. Jessica and her staff are so sweet and friendly. The store is filled with such amazing finds and it's worth every visit. Every time I come by, I always have something new in my basket. This little gourmet food shop was a delight. I never knew it was there! It has Semi Freddies bread and lots of other delights. Also, right next door there is a new sewing shop in town! I've heard so many women stressing over Joanne's closing because it really was the only fabric shop around. Now I have an alternative to Michaels, who bought all of Joanne's inventory evidently. So if you need somewhere to buy sewing supplies from an expert, buy here. Both of these stores were word of mouth recommendations so I don't know how they are going to grow if no one goes downtown Vallejo to shop. It's a very nice area! read more

It's time to update my review. Anchor is in a larger space and has added many new wonderful products. Julie, the owner is very knowledgeable, helpful and funny. I made a cheese plate last night and decided about 10 PM I needed some other items. Went to the website and chose what I wanted plus several other items. So happy to know this establishment exists. I live shopping for different food items to add to my pantry. This store has so much to offer. Glad I chose to come here to treat myself for my birthday with anything I thought would be good. The shop is brightly lit and the woman who was working there was so nice and helpful. I stumbled across Anchor Pantry a few years ago when locals were posting about this new gourmet good store in Vallejo on nextdoor.com. Back then, it was a small, cute store on Marin St . with lots of offerings to choose from. I also met the owner Jessica, who was very passionate of her business and I was so happy she chose to open shop in my neighborhood. I purchased a few items and was planning to coming back to check more items out. It didn't happen right away as tragedy struck; her store was damaged by arson... Despite this setback, I was so proud our community coming together, exceeding the gofundme goal to help the owners get the Anchor Pantry back up and running. That was 2 years ago... I was recently looking for the "viral" Dubai Chocolate bar and found out that Anchor Pantry carried it in their store. I was shocked to see how Anchor Pantry has grown, with a bigger store and so many selections! I found several pistachio items to satisfy my cravings and for great gift items. Also found my favorite truffle potato chips and Rustic Bakery shortbread. If ever in Vallejo, support local and come visit Anchor Pantry! This year, I decided to bake Christmas cookies, a tradition that my mother started. I never realized how expensive it would be, the time it would take, the mistakes, the burnt cookies and the back-and-forth trips to the market for replacement supplies. 24 hours later, I am still in the kitchen. Want freshly baked bread? Anchor Pantry has fresh baked ACME bread - so dangerously good! Crusty and beautifully colored exterior with a soft and chewy inside - perfect for all the amazing cured meats/tinned fish, cheeses, pickles and olives, and jams, especially the hot pepper bacon jam. If you're more into crackers, there's a wide variety to try. Looking for something sweet, Anchor Pantry has a nice selection of specialty sweets. A lively, joyful grocery store with a delightful proprietor, Jessica, and her super helpful staff, offering most everything I could imagine wanting (and then some!). They don't carry produce, but that's available right outside at the farmers market; and while they don't have a fresh meat-and-seafood counter, their collection of packaged meats is terrific -- they even carry Toulouse sausage, which I almost never see, even at my old haunt, Berkeley Bowl. Prices are no more than the Bowl, if even that; and they carry a knockout selection of jams, mustards, and...well, pretty much anything edible that comes wrapped, jarred, tinned, or any other kind of container. Tip: Make sure to introduce yourself to BJ. He's absolutely wonderful to chat with, and highly knowledgable. I asked BJ for ideas for a fruit tart or other quick dessert to bake -- he gave me yummy suggestions and guided me to a jar of blackberry-Earl Grey tea jam, which I brought home and spread onto the tart over a layer of mascarpone (which I also got from Anchor Pantry -- the *real* kind, with no added gums or thickeners), then laid onto that a lovely pattern of different colored plums...it was the "WOW" of the party! I wish I had made two; I also wish I had thought to take a photo -- guess I'll just have to bake some more! I'm glad I took BJ's advice! read more

The store carries anything from coffee, hot sauces, jams, alcohol concoction ingredients (But does not sell alcohol), quality cheeses and many other items... For such a small store I found it a little overwhelming in a certain way because there is much to look at, but don't worry, the owner is very helpful and helping you decide what you should purchase if you have questions. If I lived in the area I would be coming here very frequently. But when we pass through, we'll give it a stop. Downtown Vallejo is pretty darn cool. There's a bookstore across the street, Alibi Books, Mare Island Brewery is just a stone's throw away.
