My wife and I went to SEEN rooftop today for lunch and were thoroughly impressed. The food was fresh and delicious, the team from the hotel staff that greeted us in the lobby, to the hostess who met us at the elevator upstairs, to the bartenders that greeted us as we walked in and to eat and every waitress that stopped by our table. All of them were friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond. Seriously, not only did they do their job, but they went out of their way to make us feel special and welcomed. It was such a great experience. Oh, did I mention the view? Un-friggin-incredible! The food there was great, we had mostly sushi, sashimi, tacos, etc, all of which was fresh and tasty. The wait team gave us recommendations which were spot on. No upsells, but honest and right on the money based on what we described we wanted. They knew their stuff and delivered. That was a highlight for sure. Well done, SEEN team. And as a side note, the folks who complained about the dress code, it's seriously not a "thing." It's very clearly spelled out and it's not a huge burden. Image attached. It's clearly referenced when you make a reservation, it's on their website, and it's frankly not unreasonable. We saw a range of people there and they were all welcomed. The bottom line is, this place is a nicer place. If you feel like being overly casual, or sloppy, this likely isn't the place for you. And that's totally ok. There are plenty of other rooftops you can go to and be overly casual or sloppy at and fit right in, no problem. But honestly, you have to proactively work to not meet the dress code here. Especially during lunch. All that being said, we loved this place and will definitely be back. When in Lisboa visit Seen! Great date spot or to pull up with the ladies . Beautiful decor, service was ok. As without service in Lisbon I find it less on top of things but still polite. If you haven't seen the photo caption already, this is from a video by ayani (@AYANI) about her horrible experience at the restaurant Seen Sky bar (this exact location) after she felt wrongfully not allowed to come in due to the outfit she wore. Now, in this video she explains that her and her friend were more than willing to comply to the dress code, after her friend changed once she realized shorts were not allowed here. And yet, after 1. Already having a reservation and 2. Changing outfits already she was still denied entry because she was wearing (as greeting staff put it) "sportswear". Sportwear? As she's actively seeing [white] people with Nikes, Adidas, and other types of "sporty" shoe brands walk into the elevator. Vacationing in Italy and stopped at Seen. A restaurant in our hotel. This is a roof top type restaurant although not much of a view. Service was outstanding as was the food. The pasta was perfect and the sauce was on point. The crunch salad was a great twist on a wedge salad and we really enjoyed it. That Mango Mule was like something we never had before. Was more of a dessert than a cocktail and was very good. The old fashion was pretty good. It was missing the classic orange peel and cherries. The restaurant interior is really cool, with all the Christmas decorations up and great sofa bench seating. The Seen taco was great, really fresh ceviche, loved the touch of the roe and the Pomegranate seeds. The Lamb croquettes were nice and savory, super tender Lamb inside. Loved the linguini--nicely al dente, and the Truffle flavor was readily apparent. Wagyu burger was just alright, nothing lifechanging. Trendy spot with an amazing view and delicious food. SEEN and its associated sky bar are perched on the roof of the Tivoli hotel. The vibe is sceney as the name probably alludes to. It is a few cursive neon signs short of tacky but overall doesn't cross that line. The patio is awesome - the tables there have a minimum spend per person of $100. Luckily the food is good enough you should have no problem hitting the minimum. The menu is international so do not expect anything specifically Portuguese. The highlights included the cod fritter and the wagyu steak. I am super picky about restaurant steak so take this as a ringing endorsement - the fat was rendered so well, the meat was exceedingly tender, and the seasoning was on point. Everything else was delicious as well including the pisco sour I had. Of all the new trendy restaurants popping up in rapidly developing Lisbon I would make sure to visit SEEN for the view and some delicious food. read more

Seen is a true delight for all of the senses, deserves seven out of five stars. The interior is amazing and has something to take in at every corner - beautiful plants, the perfect lighting, thoughtfully curated textures and colors. Definitely come early and have some cocktails at the rooftop bar before dinner. Don't pass on the seafood taco - it's the most elevated taco I've ever had (and I don't eat seafood). The steak, burger, rice and fries that we had were great, though I think we would have been even more impressed with the food if we had listened to the waiter and taken some of his recommendations (pair the waygu with the truffle linguini, try some sushi, lobster salad etc). Went here for dinner on our last day in Lisbon. The view is incredible from terrace. Unfortunately it was not a good experience as the hostess and the waiter assigned to our table looked bothered at tending to our requests and questions. We almost didn't want to ask for anything to avoid the waiter interaction. A restaurant is never too big or exclusive to fail when patrons are treated in this manner. Fortunately another waiter came later and was way kinder and accommodating. Things that went wring here: 1- Hostess was rude 2- Waiter (no personality) was dismissive 3- Drinks took a while 4- food didn't arrived together (we ordered steak with veggies as side dishes) we got the veggies first then the meat 5- Ordered coffee and got expresso Oh yeah, check arrived on time! Nice decor of the scallops plate! However, as for the food I preferred the sushi here, so much so that I went back for the very next day for lunch and was not disappointing at all. They can use more options on the menu. I also went back to see the Sky bar adjacent to it and the daytime. Marcos was very attentive to our needs. He saw two of us standing with only one chair available and he quickly found a second chair for us. Then he gave us his honest opinion of drinks and suggested one that I would enjoy. He was spot on. The veggie roll appetizer (4 pieces) was so hearty and delicious it had us wishing for a dozen more. I recommend making a reservation a few days to a week early if you want to eat at Seen. We tried to come as soon as they opened and the next available seating wasn't until 10 pm. We went to the Sky Bar as an alternative and mentioned to our waiter that we had wanted to try the restaurant but couldn't get seated. He took a moment to check if they had any walk-in availability for 3 people and thankfully they did! We were sat at a high table by the bar. It was extremely dark and took a while for them to bring over a light for the table. Besides that, everything was incredible. You can't go wrong with any fish dish you get here. The Nigiri New Style and Wagyu Gyoza were the highlights of the meal for me but the truffle linguine was also great. The fish absolutely melts in your mouth it's so fresh. This is our 4th night in Lisbon and the meal we had at Seen was by far the best meal we've had. The monkfish, scallops, Seen taco with ceviche, and salmon rolls were excellent. The ambiance could best be described as club w loud music, good lighting and some cozy booth type circular tables as well as free standing. You generally won't be too close to next table. Dessert is the highlight. The food is interesting and very overpriced. This might be a place to close your evening w dessert and drink. I wouldn't sit through an evening dinner again due to noise. Horrible service. They charged us 80 dollars for something that I can't even call it a proper or authentic hookah. Meanwhile $200 worth of sushi came with little ginger. The waitress became pissed off when we asked for more ginger. Also they dont equally enforce their strict dress code rule. But rather discriminate based on the skin color. When you enforce no shorts policy then it means we should not see anyone wearing shorts. Obviously that's was not the case. Over 50% of men wearing shorts. Great setting for a romantic dinner. The restaurant is situated on the top floor of the Tivoli Hotel in Avenida da Liberdade with beautiful views over Lisbon including St Jorge Castle. You'll have a bar with wonderful cocktails welcoming you as you enter the venue. After that several tables with sofas and a sushi lounge at the end of the restaurant. Don't eat here if you are black for sure! We have reservations for 7:30pm They will make up any dress code rule to not allow you to go up. As people pass wearing similar items! First it was so jeans allowed, while dress code is casual chic. Then when we saw people with jeans enter he said from his point of view some jeans are casual and some jeans are not casual. After we finished our drinks, we asked two bartenders for the receipt, were told yes, but never received it, even though the bar wasn't busy and it was a fully staffed bar.
