In love with this place. It's feel is a Ol school dinner. Portions are large and generous and the price is below what I would expect to pay.

Stopped here on New Years Eve because we didn't want to wait for a hour at a chain restaurant. Very pleasantly surprised by the taste, quality and portions of the food. Lots to chose from on the menu. I had the chopped steak with gravy, onions an mushrooms along with yellow rice. Wow it was delicious. My wife had the liver and onions and it was great also. This is the diner that movies are made of. I mean that in many ways: aesthetically, service, food, price, and much more. It is iconic in a way that makes it unbelievable that it actually exists. Now that it is 24-hours, and as it has acceptable WiFi, it makes it a required stop on H27 anytime I even get near to this area. I will be bringing other people here just to see the place. We have been to Sebring diner multiple times for breakfast and most of the time it's ok. The grits and biscuits are always good but everything else is just ok. My husband got an omelet the last time and he said it was the worst omelet he's ever had. The vegetables and meat were just precut and thrown in the middle and not even cooked in the egg. We ate at the Sebring Diner in Sebring, Fl for breakfast. The Diner looks like a Diner, lots of chrome on the outside and it has a large parking lot. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch. We were seated for breakfast right away-no wait, but by the time we left, there were lots of people waiting for a table. Our host and waitress were very pleasant. We got coffee and menus right away. We were a party of 4. Everything was presented well and was very good. My fruit cup was all fresh fruit. Sausage patties and oatmeal were tasty. French toast was great. And we were constantly getting coffee refills from the waitress or host. I was impressed because everyone was hustling due to all the business but no one seemed frazzled. All in all, a good experience. Today is my last time eating at the Diner In Sebring. Until now, it was my go to for comfort food. Today, February 21, while eating at the Diner, I observed a couple feeding their dog on one of the Diners bowls. In addition, she called for the server to fill up the cream pitcher and began to mix up something from the table with the cream, and place it the bowl, and put it down on the floor for the dog. Mind you, there was no indication the dog was any type of support animal, as noted in the attached photograph. When does it end that for the pleasure of one, causes potential hazards to the masses? I was worried about eating here as the reviews for this diner state the service was not good for non-locals. The only reason this diner gets one star is because I cannot put zero stars. The only good thing was the parking and the nice girl that was our waitress. By far the worst food I have ever eaten. I wouldn't feed the food they gave me to a stray dog. I ordered the Salisbury steak and my husband ordered the sirloin. They served us burnt mozzarella sticks. Don't go here. Especially late in the evening. Run away!!! read more

Nothing as appealing as the exterior would imply. Basic diner fare in a robustly rundown cafe that looks like a finger hasn't been raised to maintain it since 1950. It made me question how clean it was. My husband's cheeseburger was cooked to order, but it had wilted lettuce, and the fries were limp. The fried green tomato sandwich was OK, but the bottom slice of Texas toast was soggy. We waited quite a while for the food, so we wondered if our food sat in a steamer to explain the time lag, limp fries, and soggy Texas toast. Sebring Diner sets the standard for diners everywhere. This was not our first visit to Sebring Diner...but it was our first in two and a half years. To our pleasant surprise, we had no problem getting seated...but we were there on a Friday morning, not a Sunday. I had a wonderful vegetable omelette, supplemented with spinach and Havarti cheese; neither grits nor potatoes but a fruit cup. My wife corned beef hash, eggs, and rye toast, so much that she had excess hash and toast. :-) We returned with a friend on Sunday, where we had the usual wait to be seated; in our experience it is always packed to the gills on Sunday. We enjoyed Fried Green Tomatoes, and more. If we're back in Sebring, we'll be back to the Sebring Diner. Four stars. read more

What happened to this place?! I used to stop here for breakfast every time I was riding to the mid-upper west coast of Fla., so needless to say I pointed my handlebars towards Sebring once again. I must have really tired as I slowed to pull into the parking lot. Why? What's the rule especially for breakfast? If there are no cars in the parking lot, there's very likely a good reason why. Bad on me for not heeding my own rules. There were more employees the customers...........3 customers total, and I'm number four. I'm there for a couple minutes before a lady says "oh, go sit wherever". Oh boy, this doesn't look promising, but I just want some simple grub at this point. Seems I threw them a difficult order of eggs, bacon & grits. Why difficult? Well, about 20 minutes later I had to wonder, just how complicated WAS my order. Then the waitress really drives home the reason I shouldn't have even pulled into the parking lot when shes says "here honey, hot off the grill" as she actually delivers cold toast, room temperature eggs and room temperature soggy bacon! I'm guessing they didn't have a cook in the back and merely drove to some place to pick up what was being discarded, drove back to Sebring Diner, threw it on a plate as "fresh off the grill'. Yeah, the grille of the car they drove to pick it up! Even the Coke tasted like crap. Seriously, how do you mess up a soda? Do your palate a favor, drive a little further into Sebring to find way better places to satisfy your tummy and retain your sanity! This place blows. Rant over. read more

Since the management made some changes in Sept., 2013, we've only been back twice. Both times were disappointing. The pancakes have been reduced to less than half the prior size, and once weren't cooked through, and the second time they were burned. The servers are lovely girls, and do good service, but they seem to fear whoever is in the kitchen nowadays. If you send something back we were told privately by one of the servers, the server gets verbally abused by the kitchen cook. We used to eat there 3 times a week, but haven't been back since the management change took place. Very sad because it used to be a great place to eat. read more

This diner serves nothing that is worthwhile except maybe a glass of water. Have gone to this diner on a few different occasions to make the first visit right and they couldn't. The food has no flavor and is almost always either over cooked or extremely dry. Then again that's kind of fitting for about 60% of the people in this town. Dry, tasteless, and snobby. read more

Very disappointed that our once reliable has been undermined by COVID. Our sweet potato was the size of my thumb and, yes, those sizes are available at Walmart, but don't ever serve one in a restaurant as a "side" and expect us not to question whether it was correctly chosen. What is wrong with you now? That, and the food wasn't good and the portions were half the size as before and the male servers hung out talking behind the counter while the female servers did double time. Unacceptable! Never before has that been evident, so who and what are the new owners and new management thinking and what is their plan? The diner always ran like clockwork and sure it had occasional glitches and patches, but it was the skilled and reliable team of kitchen to table and management and clean up that kept food coming out and served with proper oversight. Dirty sticky tables not allowed. Cheap quality not allowed. You're a diner and all the ambience you can offer is superior cleanliness, plentiful and basic fresh foods priced reasonably to encourage high turnover, and fast and efficient and cheerful help. Work on it and we will see you in couple months. One star earned, and one star for COVID understanding. Now get to work and fix your glitches. Until then folks should keep on driving by. read more

I rate a three because others at our table ordered delicious looking sandwiches that I will come back and try. I'd like to try the breakfast one morning after reading several reviews. This diner was actually very good. We are not locals but have passed by on a few occasions and also read the reviews. On a recent Saturday at lunch we ordered off the menu. I started with a cup of the ham and bean soup; very good, a bit salty but not to an extreme. My wife ordered a side salad that was well stocked with a variety of greens and vegetables-not a run of the mill boring salad. (The server did not bring it with my soup) My wife asked for the turkey Swiss with no bun and a side of the coleslaw. Since there was nothing to showcase the turkey and melted cheese it was just...turkey and cheese. No fault of the kitchen The coleslaw was creamy and flavorful. Would be surprised if it wasn't homemade. My blue cheese hamburger was excellent. As advertised, the patty was from fresh chuck. Get it with "the works" and it gets a little wonderfully sloppy. The shoestring fries were spot on diner. Other dishes that passed by looked equally appealing and completely filled the plates. Sebring Diner is clean and roomy and stainless. Service was just ok- our server did not clear plates until the end. Definitely will return and try some of the other selections. read more

This is my first review. I felt compelled to take the time because the food was so AWFUL. This used to be one of my favorites! I was home and decided to go back. This has NEVER happened before but my sons chicken tenders were RAW in the middle. They just recooked them. Is that legal? Gross! They messed up my husbands order and my hamburger was a salisbury steak patty. Maybe they ran out of patties? I told the lady at check out and she was like ok. Will not return. Makes me sad. Not what is was in the early and mid-2000s. It was excellent back then. Last time I went ate there twice over a two day period. One meal was so-so but the other very good. The hours are not so great as it closes at 3 pm so if one needs dinner there is a problem. I asked one of the waitresses who said she has been there for 10 years on what happened and she said the owner went to shorter hours as getting good employees became a problem. Another waitress said she heard the owner is getting along in age and does not want the hustle-bustle he was use to when he was younger.
