Just had an oil change done. Service dept. promised it will be done in 2 hours and in fact, it was done before 2 hours. Shuttle service is very convenient and the driver, I forget his name (he's a new shuttle driver at Seattle MINI that just came in from Michigan), is very nice and friendly I have to commend him. I was sent back home when my car was being serviced and was picked up again at home by the shuttle service to get my car back. I highly recommend Seattle MINI's service department; they know how to treat a customer. Keep up the great job! read more

Jonathan Buckley, assistant manager of the service department is thorough, transparent, honest and genuine. I had purchased a Mini Cooper Clubman S somewhere else. Then imported it to Canada. It had a massive electrical failure. Jonathan towed the car. Gave me a loaner. Called to tell me it would be repaired for free completely. Including the tow. When I tried to trade the car in for a brand new Mini it was discovered the car had been in a major structural accident. (I found out the engine wasn't even bolted to the frame on one side! No wonder it started to come apart!!!) The dealership I bought it from had lied. I was told it was accident free. In fact it had been written off and rebuilt and sold to me as "perfect" when in fact it was unsafe to drive. I had to re-import the car to the USA. This was no small feat. I am Canadian. Now live in Seattle. You can't re-import a car without paying taxes! I had negotiated for months with the previous dealer and they were prepared to take the car back and refund most of my purchase price after I hired a lawyer...It was a nightmare. I had to gift the car to my Daughter. Then she had to import it since she is American. It was revealed at the Port of Seattle by the border official that the DOT sticker was painted over and covered up. You cannot re-import without proof it meets emissions or originates from the USA. I was devastated. I called Jonathan Buckley. Explained my situation. He spoke to the border official. He asked if they would accept proof the car was always serviced by Mini Seattle. Was defective. Originated in the USA. He did this on the fly!!!! The Port Authority agreed and accepted his documentation. The Officer said: get that car gone back to where you bought it. Thanks to Jonathan I was reimbursed for the car. I went on to buy 3 more Mini's after that! My whole family now drives Mini's. Frankly, just because of Jonathon Buckley. We know, if we stick with Jon we will always be taken care of. Jonathan has retained us as customers because he goes far above and beyond the call of duty. Took our Mini Cooper in for service. We made an appointment for Thursday at 10:30. Service advisor greeted us and took the time to understand why we were there. Gave us estimates and advised us if anything came up he would call us. Car was ready as promised and despite not being able to pick the car up until after the service department closed, the keys were waiting for us at the front desk. Overall very satisfied. read more

Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and calm, these are a few of my favorite things. They're also descriptions of Kay McMillan, the Motoring Advisor, who sold us a Mini Cooper this weekend at Seattle Mini. Strolling into their show room on a Saturday afternoon, we were pleasantly surrounded by Mini Cooper eye candy in many colors and combinations of features. Of course it helped that we came in knowing what we wanted, but with that said, the process was a hassle-free experience ending in mutual satisfaction for all involved. In financing a portion of the cost, we were taken through a seemingly effortless process to secure a low interest loan which was probably some effort on their part, but because of their customer-service finesse, they made it seem like no effort at all. We then had an entertaining signing process followed by a thorough demonstration of the car and all of it's bells and whistles. Overall, I give Seattle Mini a solid A plus with a cherie on top, and I would refer anyone looking for a sporty economical car to visit Seattle Mini. read more

UPDATE: They courteously reimbursed me for the lost merchandise. I truly appreciate it. ORIGINAL: While my purchasing experience was great, I am a little annoyed with the service department. After putting less than 1,000 miles on my new to me ('08) Mini the battery began to have trouble and then suddenly the radio stopped working. I took the car in and they put in a new battery and radio, and everything works just fine. The problem, which is minimal, but worth bringing up, is that when I brought the car in there was a CD in the CD player. It was the only CD that was in the car and the only one I listen to, and now it is gone and no one at the service station will get back to me about its whereabouts. I don't think anyone stole it, I think it was removed during testing of the radio and simply forgotten about. However, this is very unprofessional and their lack of response is making me quite upset. This was only 2 days ago that I picked the car up. read more

My experience was quite good so I'm surprised to see the bad reviews. My 2009 is still under warranty and everything was done nicely without charge. Oil changed, brake pads replaced. They even replaced front and back wipers and reset my clock and tire light (I had purchased tires recently and the check tires light was on). The waiting area was nice. They checked in with me often to keep me aprised and didn't scold me too much (the oil was low). It was a good experience and I hope I will be just as happy after the warranty expires. I bought my mini from Fife before the Seattle store opened. Rocky was my salesman and he is wonderful. The finance department great and the tradein treated fairly. Love both the dealerships...so far. hope they have improved things and the bad reviews are a thing of te past. read more

I am a business owner in Seattle for over 18 years,i have bought and sold many cars and trucks over the years to suit my particular needs and I would say hands down this was the poorest experience I have ever had trying to purchase a car. I was happy to see a Mini dealership a stones throw from my house maybe this was chance to check them out. I invite a friend who is a "car-guy" and owns a BMW to come along.We have to ask for help. They seem a little scattered. There is little to no pricing on cars?! David Wolf is appointed our "motoring advisor". I am clear about the years I am interested in and stick only. David has many sheets of inventory but a little unsure where his inventory is? We make it clear that we are interested in testing a few models. We are a "allowed" to test a used Mini Cooper S. I actually got to drive for about 7minutes before I'm asked to pull over and allow my friend an opportunity to test. Back to the dealership,back to figuring where inventory is?! So, now a choice is made. I am no longer purchasing a "used" car but have been talked up [by my friend mainly] to buy a new "S". Turns out, new or used they are almost the same price. We are sitting at the salesman desk. He asks what I want to do? I say I want to work some numbers. Do you have your trade-in here? I say "no" its only 1 year old car so even if you low ball the value of my car, I should have some idea where we stand. Upon realizing that my trade was not on sight, Mr. Wolf stood up quickly and said there was nothing more he could do.That without the trade we were done and pretty much chased us out the door. I had a $1000. in cash on me offer to hold the car I wanted and would have returned the next day to finish the deal. Instead I was made to feel that he had no more time, he barely invited me back, "ya know, when ever you can" was David"s invitation to close the deal. I would give better service over $30bag of groceries than David would for a almost a $30,000. dollar toy! I called my friend who purchased her used Mini from the Fife dealership about a month ago why she had gone down there......because " they" were better rated. I totally understand now, that "convenience" does not pay. Mr.Wolf has my number and I have heard nothing from him. I took off early from work and asked my friend to do the same just to look at and possibly purchase my new car. Thank-you Mr. Wolf for wasting "our" time. read more

I bought my dark silver MINI here in Nov 2009. I always knew that I wanted a MINI so they didn't have to work hard to convince me. I worked with Michael and he was so patient. I probably spent about 4-5 hours of his time just asking questions. I actually came in with a list of questions on my second trip there. I never felt pressured, unlike other visits to car dealerships. I love the culture of MINI and I think that the people who work at Seattle MINI represent that; friendly and excited about MINIs. I was a first time car buyer and very nervous. The woman I worked with in finance was friendly and patient with me. After purchasing my MINI I had to return for a few issues I had with my bluetooth. The service department was always willing to listen to my concerns and help me out until we finally fixed the problem. I will continue to return to Seattle MINI for service or any future issues or for my next MINI! :) read more

We made a huge mistake when we towed our 09 Mini Cooper S to Seattle Mini of WA all the way from montana. After months and $2000 spent, I had purchased my ticket to come get the vehicle and they texted us 2 hours before my departure saying we had to pay for a part, dispite them breaking it. With the guidance of Terry, in sales, shepherding us through the process in lounge chairs. With the kids coloring and sipping Seattle Mini supplied juice boxes, we had time to learn our purchase options and educated about the cars. Honest, open, and goes the extra mile to help customers; especially, distressed customers. My wife's Mini was literally on deaths door w/a engine already crossed over when Jenny came to the rescue. Never had I ever encountered anyone in the automotive service world work with such diligence then her and the Service Team. I would put all that was done, but it was a lot. Simply ask Jenny, if you're curious, about Sarahs' 2012 Mini that was brought back to life from car death. We did not pay much considering the extensive work done. Jenny(Jenni), Thank you!!! When I'm ready to trade my Truck in, or buy another Mini, you (and the Service Team) are the reason. I only hope the Sales team is able to keep up. Seattle Mini is totally incompetent when it comes to customer service. I have had my car there twice since I bought it, both times on warranty issues. The first time I took it to them was for a leak in the radiator. They installed a new radiator just fine. Now they opted to do the tie rod ends as they said that they needed replacing also, so o.k. fine they did it without asking but that was o.k. as I wasn't paying for it anyway. I told them to keep it as long as they needed it as I had their 2012 countryman. Now 4 days later I go to pick up my car. The next day I picked up my 14 month old grandaughter and start down the road and the steering wheel start shaking and making a loud knocking noise heard by people on the side walk and they are pointing to me. I got out and looked under the car and the tie rod ends had unscrewed just about all the way out and it was wobbling ready to fall apart. After calling the dealership they had a wrecker pick it up and tow it from Everett back to Seattle Mini. The service manager noted on my work order that the tie rod ends had not been tightened (Slight Mechanical Oversight). What if I had been going down the freeway and the front wheel fell off and again I had my grandaughter with me. (It would have been ugly on the freeway). Good news is they didn't charge me anything! (L.O.L.) now. Second time to Seattle Mini was a warranty recall on my power steering pump and power steering fan motor. I waited almost 3 months after I received my recall letter for them to get in the parts to do the job. Service called me and told me that they had my parts in to do the warranty recall and scheduled me to come in at 10:40 on friday and it would be done by the end of the day. They shuttled me home at that point. No call at the end of the day I had to call them only to have the service manager tell me that it wouldn't be ready as he had to order some parts, and they would finish it saturday. Once again no call saturday and by 5pm I called them not being able to get ahold of a service manager I told the receptionist that if the car wasn't ready I would need a loaner car or rental waiting for me and I would pick it up sunday. I went into the dealership sunday and everything is closed except for sales and there was no arrangements for a loaner car or rental for me. I was throughly pissed and went home to rent a car, but all rental agencies are closed on sunday. Now I have to miss a days work because of now way to get to work. (NOW I'M REALLY PISSED). Monday I got ahold of service and MY SERVICE MANAGER WAS OFF........HOW CONVENIENT!!! Service did tell me that my car would be done by noon. So a one day job ended up taking 4 days including the weekend. The shuttle that was suppost to pick me up in one hour took two.......so why would that surprise me. Need Mini repair ............... Go to Tacoma I hear that they have people there that care about their customers. read more

I have a 2006 Mini Cooper that began losing power while going up hills. Then it would not shift out of 1st gear. I was afraid of going to the dealer knowing transmissions are crazy expensive. So I took it to a Transmission Shop that said they could fix it. Long story short they did nothing but tear it out of my car ( for $1600) so I called Seattle Mini. From the get go Raychel in service was awesome. She needed my car and broken tranny but was able to get me a brand new transmission installed for FREE. Mini understands there have been problems with the CVT's but I was totally impressed with the customer service and the price was right!! read more

My review is based on my experiences with one of the sales people in the used car department - Peter Liu. He seemed like a nice chap and was eager to sell me a car. I was looking at other small cars, but had my heart set on a Clubman. It would have been an easy sell for him, as I had the cash and had already test-driven the car. However, when I asked if I could have a trusted ( and MIni certified) mechanic check out the car, Peter's attitude changed from helpful to hostile. He said an outside mechanic would find something wrong with the car and I would want a lower price. Surprised, I said yes, if there is something wrong with this car that you are not telling me, I will want a lower price. This, in fact, is why one has a used car looked at by a third party! I don't know whether this behavior is part of the Seattle Mini policy, but it was enough for me to quickly realize that I could not trust them. What are they trying to hide? So, I took my business to Lynwood Honda and am now a proud Honda owner! read more

It's interesting to see all the reviews below as I think I was one of the first Mini owners to be serviced by Mini of Seattle servicing dept. In fact I was set to get my coolant flushed in Fife but then Seattle sorta begged me to go with them so I did. Pretty much a nightmare. They broke the screw on the bottom of the radiator and all the coolant leaked out so my car overheated on the Viaduct at night. Yuck. They could have destroyed my engine. When I called them to tell them what had happened, the front desk person was infuriating, but the service department wanted to make it right. And they did. It took time and I was without a car but they came and got it and delivered back to me and gave me a $50 dollar gift cert and really apologized. I love my Mini but sounds like the service dept in Seattle continues to have problems. I think going to Fife is a better choice even if there is the drive, until they get things running smoothly. read more

Purchased a new Mini Coupe S today that I special ordered. A month or so ago I set up an appointment for a test drive and was taken on a lengthy test drive in the model I was interested in. Next Michael, my sales person, took me downstairs to look at the different finishes inside and out on some cars they had in stock. I ordered my car and any time I neeed an update on its build progress all I had to do was call. When the car arrived Michael was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure the car was prepared quickly after it was unloaded from the truck. I had sold my previous car and had no car to drive so he made every effort to get it to me on that same day. Everything about the car was explained to me and I felt I was treated very well compared to previous experiences. Damon in financing also was very straight forward and didn't try to over sell me on every little thing. I knew what I wanted and that was all we talked about. I have a 2007 Cooper S and have had reaqlly good service from the dealership in Fife, but never a good experience at the Seattle location. Currently, my car is in the shop in Seattle where is has been for 5 days. They gave me a loaner, so I am not stuck, but when I call the service department to find out the status of my vehicle, the only person who have any information is the 'service advisor' assigned to my case. That person is very hard to contact and hasnt returned any voicemails. Turns out, after being put into that guy's voicemail, that my so-called 'service advisor' is out today and nobody else there has any idea as to the status of my vehicle. It is now 1:10 PM and I have been trying to get information since 8:30 this morning. This is NOT the way to run a service department!! I also had to endure the wrath of a surly receptionist in order to find out absolutely nothing on my last call. read more
