My husband & I have been going to Loyal for many many years and I never have that sense of dread of what shenanigans are they going to try and pull over on me when I bring one of our cars in. Reasonable, trustworthy, and they will make time for example to do a diagnostic on say the dreaded 'check engine light' so that you can determine if urgent or not. Less than a week after a full car inspection (done proactively before lots of planned driving in snow), my car wouldn't start even though I was reassured everything was in great condition. When I called to see if anyone could offer advice, they were completely unsympathetic and suggested they could fit my car in in 2 weeks. I suspect they didn't actually check the battery since I have automatic lights, hadn't driven it since the inspection, etc. I feel like if a car has trouble for the first time in its ownership a handful of days after you service it, you can be minimally interested on the phone. I will not be going back. EDIT: I am not sure how to respond to Loyal's response to me, but it WAS the battery. I went to a different automotive shop right after speaking with Loyal that assured me the battery was fine, and the other place confirmed it was the battery and I had it replaced. I just went to my third service appointment at Loyal, and still friggin' love these guys. Always up front, clear, and honest. Today they certainly went above and beyond with the customer service, coming out on a quick drive with me so I could replicate a sound I've been hearing (but they didn't hear when they drove it). Gave me good advice on what to do next. And maybe it's because I came from getting my car serviced at the dealership where it's way overpriced (I didn't know, mmmk?) but I always feel like I'm getting a good/fair deal with them. My girlfriend and I had an awesome experience with Loyal Automotive. After the Subaru dealership did $800 worth of work (without fixing the overall problem) and quoted us for another $2000, we decided to shop around for second opinions. After getting a generous amount of help and advice from Taleah, we had our brake pads and rotors done at Loyal for a reasonable price and were given other (free) remedies for our other issues. The car still runs great and we saved $1500! I have a hard time trusting shops to work on my vehicles but this place worked out great and Taleah was super knowledgable. I wish there were more stars, I want to give them a 10-star rating. I drive a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am and was having trouble with the electric driver's side window. A very nice gentleman named Nick greeted me. I didn't realize that I had given him quite the nightmare project. Rather than throwing up his hands in frustration, he turned what would have frustrated most into a challenge, smiling and polite all the way, they even had to purchase a special tool to get the job done. He was honest, he could have patched it together and sent me on my way, I wouldn't have known, but he didn't and I know his labor cost was more than the original quote, but the quote stayed the same. I have owned cars for 48 years and in all those years have met maybe four shops with that kind of determination to help a customer, honesty and fair pricing. I've been coming here for years and would highly recommend loyal auto to anyone who is nervous about getting a fair quote. My jeep started making some concerning noises after a long roadtrip so I took it in ASAP to get it looked at. It took them a few hours to diagnose the problem and they were very transparent about the change in cost once they figured it out. They didn't try to upsell me on additional repairs which I appreciated and they even knocked off some charges because it took a few tries properly diagnose and fix the issue. For years I've been running their quotes past my ex-mechanic dad, and he says they always check out. Prompt. They get my car back to me in a day or two. Friendly! Non-judgy. Eddie is the best and most honest mechanic I have ever encountered!!! I have been to his shop at first because it was close and convenient but learned quickly that he is the man!!! He says he doesn't work weekends but that's not true. I have come to him several times with difficult situations and he always figures it out, even when he wasn't sure. I just recently had an issue with my sliding door on my work van that is very important to my livelihood. He admitted o er the phone that I probably needed a body shop. I was stressed out trying to repair it myself to no avail. I am a general contractor that remodels houses for a living, so am not used to being stuck without a solution. Eddie fixed the problem in about 5 minutes and wasn't even going to accept payment. After seeing the good scores this little shop in my neighborhood had received, I took my 1994 Toyota pickup here last week, as it had been experiencing persistent problems with the cooling system. Loyal Automotive was great with me from the start, from making appointments on the phone all the way through to getting my truck back. After I dropped it off and talked through the symptoms it had been experiencing, I got a call a few hours later with a full diagnosis of the problem, which Eddie explained in pretty clear details, and in a way that was perfectly consistent with the way it had been acting and its recent repair history. Eddie talked me through a few options on replacing the radiator, which was leaking and about to yield to old age, and we settled on a practical option. He quoted me a price over the phone that was several hundred dollars cheaper than I was afraid it would be, and also gave me a timeline that was realistic given that they needed to order a pretty substantial part. The repair was done the next day, on schedule, and when I went to pick it up, Eddie charged me exactly what he had quoted me (which frankly hasn't always happened when I've taken my truck to a dealer or shops elsewhere!). My truck has been running perfectly (or, as perfectly as a 21-year old heap ought to run) ever since. So nice to have this shop close by! This place is awesome! I took my car in a few weeks ago to see what needed to be done so that it was safe for when my daughter is born in a couple months. Eddie was super nice and nice honest. I didn't feel pressured to get anything fixed that I didn't want to, though I did have them fix it all! They took it offsite for the alignment and it wasn't done correctly. So a week later I called them up and Eddie took care of it and checked my breaks again! They were very flexible with my schedule and I feel like I got a good deal! I haven't made it in and already they have given me great service over the phone. I recently purchased a 1992 Chevrolet G20 that I need a very thorough inspection on as I bought it off some sketchy people for $700. I called in and was quoted $125 for a quick review of my vehicle I told them I need peace of mind and for a road trip of a lifetime. They told me $125 was an hour of work and that it could take a couple more if I need something more thorough and I said great so four hundred dollar range and immediately she told me she was going to try and keep it around $250!! (Clap clap) I have never had a shop try and under bid me lol so I am pretty excited to see what happens they we're recommended to me by the top shop on Yelp in Seattle for this project and I'm really quite grateful to be working with them! read more

I had an extended warranty, which she took care of and got it paid for (other than my deductible). It ended up being my alternator. Since my car wasn't drivable I dropped it off on Tuesday even though my appt was Friday. She called Wednesday and told me what was wrong and had it done by Friday afternoon. My 1997 Suburban 4x4 had a rotational noise at low speeds. Loyal replaced the universal joint for $212.98. When I picked up the vehicle and drove it home about 15 blocks away the noise was still there. They then told me I need a new transfer case for $3,031.05 (tax included). Luckily I took the Suburban to Aurora Clutch and More and they fixed it for $288.46 (tax included) Hmmmmm..............................If you have a drivetrain issue definitely do NOT take to LOYAL Automotive - they don't understand the systems and will fix your problem by replacing everything for thousands of dollars. The problem was a broken transfer case output shaft snap ring which also wore on a tail housing bushing. Had my car in for an oil change. It was relatively expensive for basic dinosaur oil but I'd rather have a competent tech do it than have Jiffy Lube ruin my oil pan. They quoted me work for a few problems with the car. One was a minor leak that they wanted to fix by replacing a major component, which would nearly total the car. The other was for sparkplugs ($424), which I replaced myself instead for $32 in parts and 90 minutes of my time. No complaints and they didn't push on either (non-safety) issue. read more

Got a quote from another repair shop downtown off of Denny that quoted me for over $300 to try and fix the ac in my truck. I asked Loyal for a second opinion and they fixed it within a couple of hours for about $150. If you are looking for honest and straight forward technicians that are going to give you a price that is good for both parties involved, this is where you want to go. An honest mechanic is everyone's dream, but without knowing a lot about cars, it can be hard to know if your car is getting the repairs it needs, or if some salesman just weaseled you out of $1200 to replace the axelometer chain belt, which is not even a real car part. Following a terrible experience at a Certain Other Corporate Repair Shop, we took our 13 year old Ford Focus down to Loyal Automotive, and I'm so happy we did. So, instead of panning a Certain Other Corporate Repair Shop on yelp, I'll just let everyone know that if they need honest and good work done on their car for a fair price, read the other reviews here and go straight to Loyal Automotive. The only downside might be that they are really busy, so it might take some time for your car to be seen. This is like complaining about the wait at Paseo/Un bien though. Went in to get some sway bar links put in which by the way were really easy to put in. Should have taken 20 minutes and yet I was charged for an hours worth of work originally. After 45 minutes the work was done and they offered $140 and yet their hourly rate is $120 so I said that's too high and they lowered it to $112. read more

Without my truck my business can become difficult. Eddy was kind enough to come to my jobsite, evaluate & troubleshoot the reason my truck wasn't starting. Without getting any codes from the Diagnostic Scanner, he was able to figure out the fault with the fuel pump, under the truck.
