My car died suddenly on a Thursday night. I had it towed to Superior and left it with the key and my number. I am a client. I got a call early the next morning and discussed it with them. Just an oil change. Took a bit longer than I hoped after having an appointment. They did allow me to bring my own specific oil. I wanted to have an oil sensor replaced, but they wouldn't install a part I provided. It was a 15 minute job that I ended up doing myself. They wanted me to leave my vehicle all day. Not sure they take into account how much leaving a vehicle all day ads to my cost and time. I wish they were more flexible, but I've generally been happy with their service. I went in for a quick oil change but the team at Superior started on time, finished on time and I had a nice sit with WiFi on the couch. Previously I'd walked home for the duration and I must say sitting was a nice experience - the staff that passed by to and from cars actually took the time to make eye contact and greet me. Kyle and Barb, who man the front desk are just great. As I sat there the other day I watched Kyle gently help a person whose car was in deep doodoo and he appeared careful to not oversell them when the opportunity was there. I brought my car to Superior Auto Service since my car was leaking AC refrigerant. They quoted a pretty high price to find the leak, fix it, and make sure that there were no other leaks. Despite the high price, I decided to pay it for the peace of mind that the problem would be fixed and I would have a working AC. However, the AC only held a charge for a couple thousand miles, meaning the fix was not done correctly . I called them hoping that they would do what was right and correct the fix. However the employee was rude, and dismissive. She even claimed that I didn't ask them to fix the AC, until I read her the description on the paid work order. Still they would not hold themselves accountable, and did not care that their work was shoddy. On a side note, I also had them do an inspection at the same time. They claimed my car needed about $4k of work, which I chose not to do. I got a second opinion from another mechanic who said most of the quoted work was completely unnecessary and ridiculous read more

It's very hard to find a shop that will not only do good work, but lay out all the facts about what's going on with the car, and then let you make an informed decision about what to do next. I feel that Superior Auto Service does that, and does quality work. They are busy, and you will have to schedule pretty far in advance to get an appointment, but to me it's worth it to know that the car will be fixed right, and that you will know exactly what's going on now, and what needs to be done in the future. It's not the cheapest option to have your car fixed here, but they really stand by their work, and if something doesn't turn out right, they will make it right. They work pretty fast too, once the car is in the shop, you will have it back and working correctly in short order. I just took my 2005 Ford Focus in for an inspection, and when I left the facility, I almost felt as though I was driving a brand new car, it was such a smooth ride. These folks are very polite and are easy to deal with. There were a few things that needed fixing, mostly dirty and worn parts. I took my jeep here for fixes on a number of issues, from an oil leak to a bouncy suspension, to an A/C unit that only worked on certain settings. Superior Auto Service took care of all of my concerns and made sure to explain in detail what was wrong with the car and how they would fix it. I decided to go for all of the fixes at once at it costed a pretty penny, but I know I could have selected any of the proposed issues and tackled them one by one if I needed some time to save up for them. read more

I write far more good reviews than I do bad one's but when customers are at risk of losing thousands of dollars to unnecessary mechanic work, I feel like something needs to be said. I don't know the circumstances that led to this diagnosis but I sincerely hope that this isn't the company's standard policy of care. I brought my car in for full diagnostic check up around 4 months ago. I received a standard oil change with a mechanic certified list of recommended work to be done. The mechanic working on my vehicle personally told me I needed brand new shocks, and new struts and bearings. Estimated cost of parts plus labor tacked on an extra $1,100 dollars. This is something that I feel is very noticeable and hard to misdiagnose as a mechanic. I decided to NOT have the work done and get a second opinion. The second opinion confirmed that this was a not an honest recommendation for my vehicle. I took it to the Pep Boys in Ballard and they were exceptional. Communication, transparency, in-person breakdown plus digital real time progress reports written and delivered daily. They really earned my business and Superior Auto Service lost mine. I am a daily driver who needs a lot of yearly work on their vehicle. If they had been more honest and straightforward, they would have had my business for life. Again, I hope that their mechanics are not paid on commission thus forcing them to add on unnecessary labor to make a decent paycheck. I hope that this isn't how the business normally operates. Just a word to the wise, double check those big ticket repairs with another shop before you give SAS the green light. read more

You assholes ordered a headlight for me but I kept saying not to email, to text, and that I was working a solid 40 hours and not able to respond. The headlight went back within 3 weeks and I was charged for it and not able to make anymore appointments until I paid for the headlight I needed and wanted and would have to pay to have shipped again. Anyhow your shop is convenient for me but I still have not ever come back for oil changes or anything after this threatening and shitty behavior. Took car there for diagnostic...engine was misfiring. They diagnosed it only as faulty spark plugs, didn't diagnose any further, and just replaced the spark plugs...$600++. Next day, the car had the same problem! Took car to another facility ( approved warranty shop) and they correctly diagnosed issue as faulty ignition wire to one specific cylinder. My car was broken in to while being repaired here (though the lock was not damaged so it's possible that the door was actually left open by an employee.) The business claimed no responsibility, and now I'm left to pay a $500 deductible to get my car fixed from the break-in (On top of the $500+ i paid for them to fix my original problem!) There is no secure fenced area at this repair shop so leave your car at your own risk. It's very disappointing as I was referred to this place by a good friend who said they had great service. Sadly, I had a very different experience. Next time I will make sure to look for a repair shop with a proper security enclosure. *Update* So on top of my car being broken into here, less than a month later my check engine light is on again & after having it read by another repair shop--IT IS THE SAME ISSUE Superior Auto claimed they fixed!?
