Cuticles left untouched, nails filed AFTER paint job.
Krisha D.

It's actually hard to believe this place is in business. I walked in with a friend at 4 pm. There were two technicians and one customer. They started working on my friend first and she got a regular manicure. The paint job was poor. I got a shellac manicure and seriously feel that I was robbed. The woman was distracted the entirety of the time and painted my nails BEFORE she filed them or cut the cuticles. What?! It didn't even make sense! She neglected to paint my entire nail, the edges were left bare and she was generally rough. When she was finished and I looked at what she had done, I was horrified! I can't believe that they charge anything for this service let alone $40!

This is how bad of a job they do for men.

This was honestly my first pedicure ever. And to be baptized into this whole new amazing world of nailcare, I cannot wait to go somewhere else! Because I've never done this before, the foot massage and massaging chair was enough for me to say, "omg I love it" But then when I left, I first of all wasn't happy with the fact that I couldn't communicate with my nail... specialist? No, nail lady cause she couldn't speak any English. If you don't speak French, you don't work in France, same everywhere else in the world. Anyway, I then went to my coworkers to talk about my experience cause I was just not sure about the whole thing since I couldn't talk to her. They then began to list off all the things wrong with what they saw: no clear coat or buff, badly done calluses, uneven nails and so on and so forth. Honestly I should have known something was up when I asked the lady 5 times, "are we done?" And in response got nothing more than a long drawn out, "oooooohhhhhhh." And on top of that, all other employees just sat there and stared and did not once try to help translate for the poor bad nail lady. I'm sure she was scared and confused why I was repeating the same gibberish (English) over and over to her. Honestly, not worth $25. Especially considering by the end it got super awkward and embarrassing cause I felt like some migrant slave was working on my feet. Not some nice, respectable woman that knows what she's doing.

So long & full!

I only go see Linda for my eyelashes. She does the best job, they last me 3 weeks and it's only $45! Such a hidden gem!

Ask for Julie. Best French manicure in Seattle. Not to mention a great person. Approx 60 for shellack mani / spa pedi which seems like a great deal.

Do not go here!!!!! I usually get my nails done in Bellevue, but I didn't want to make the drive, so I tried Seatop - what a mistake! I have shellac on my nails and toes, and they started to scrape off the shellac before it was ready (it sat less than a minute in the foil), and started scraping off my nails. I objected and they said they were trying to get the first layer off. Once they got the shellac off, they used their nail drill to file down the tops of my nails - a nail drill??? My nails are already thin!!! The tops of my nails after the filing were so rough, it was awful. Then she starts to paint my nails....WAIT, WHAT??!! I stopped her and said "you didn't cut my cuticles, didn't soak my nails in water" - she tells me that they do things differently here, and they do that last. I almost walked out, but I thought "maybe she knows something I don't know?" WRONG! The paint looks horrible, it's not smooth because they didn't file the tops correctly, and the cuticles look rough....there were a couple of areas where there was still skin sticking up on my cuticles, as well as an area where she cut me, and do you know what she did??? SUPER GLUED those areas!!!! This place is dirty, they don't sanitize their instruments or the tubs for your feet. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! And then on top of it, it's way over priced for what you're getting.

Then the lady who started my daughter's manicure and I discussed what I had booked. She talked me into to a different service and quoted a price. I confirmed several times and put the cost in my calculator for the two services before I left so there wasn't any confusion. I returned at time appointment was expected to end (90 mins later) and when it came time to pay, three hours later, two other ladies were now working and rang me up for more than was quoted. I questioned why the price difference and showed what was quoted to me multiple times. The lady who provided the service and told us the prices remained quiet and the lady who might have been a manager just said sorry for the mistake and made no effort to unqire or ask what she had said. From running late to not honoring or intentionally misquoting prices prior to services being completed, to taking much longer than expected, we will be going elsewhere. Too many great options.

I was very disappointed with my experience…read more The nail technician was on the phone throughout my entire appointment, and it felt like she wasn't fully paying attention to my nails. The gel polish was applied very quickly and carelessly, with uneven edges, gaps near the cuticles, and small white spots/bubbles in some areas. At one point, the UV lamp touched my nail and messed up the polish. She tried to fix it, but the final result still didn't look right. When I pointed out the issues, the technician couldn't understand me and called a man from the front desk to help translate. Instead of addressing my concerns, he told me he couldn't see any problems, that I was being "too picky," that nobody would notice from a distance, and that nobody is perfect. I understand that nobody is perfect, but as a paying customer, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect careful work and to have my concerns treated with respect. What disappointed me most wasn't just the quality of the nails, but the way my concerns were dismissed. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed.

I've been to others where you can request someone, but for whatever reason that person would be unavailable and they'd have you see someone else. I used to get my nails done weekly when I had the membership at Julep. Since that closed & after the pandemic I hadn't done much of it, so I wanted to get back into it by finding a neighborhood salon where I can go regularly. I made an appointment at Kim Studio Nails online, and showed up at the correct time. I walked in, they looked up but nobody said hi, so I had to initiate the conversation. They didn't ask me for my name or anything. I let them know I signed up for gel, removal and paraffin. I think there was a confusion with the previous party showing up late for their appointment (the staff were nice to her), but that wasn't my fault. There was no chair available, so they told me to sit awkwardly in the pedicure chair without putting my feet in the basin. I told the lady again I asked for gel and paraffin. She started taking off my previous gel, and I think she thought it wasn't coming off easily; so she kept complaining (I don't speak the language, but I can tell she was complaining). She aggressively & somewhat carelessly filed the nails, at one point the nail file broke my skin. Later she sprayed alcohol on the broken skin, so that really burned. She was wearing gloves, but her nails were quite long for a technician; she clasped my fingers hard while doing my nails, so her nails dug into my hands and that really hurt as well. Oh, and she didn't do the paraffin treatment. At this point I just wanted to get out of there, so I didn't insist on it. The nails themselves came out normally. As I paid, paraffin was listed so I told them I didn't get one. Only then, the lady whom I assume to be Kim said "Oh did you want paraffin?" It's kind of like asking you "Oh did you want your drink?" after you already finished your meal & are paying the bill. No apologies. I said thank you as I went out, but I got no thank you or bye or anything as I was leaving. It's rare to visit a business that's so unhappy about taking my money. I'm puzzled about the great reviews. Maybe my kind is not welcome. (They seemed nice to white ladies.) Having felt so unwelcome, not sure if I'll go back. Too bad, since it was close to where I live.
