I was on vacation visiting Seattle and this was the worst experience ever, appt was at 8:30pm, when arrived there were 2 technicians, but to then realize 1 tech was leaving around 9:30pm which she already started on my nails and was trying to multitask & work on multiple clients. We didn't leave the shop until 11pm & then realized I got over charged for the services. She told me to try these like press on nails which was suppose to last longer than acrylics and then 2 days later 2 nails fell off already. Also, on top of that she had her toddler son running around the shop with a poopy diaper & the chairs were poor quality & massage chairs definitely need to be replaced. Used a $20 Groupon for a shellac manicure. Just wanted something quick and simple. I called ahead and was told they weren't busy and could take me anytime. Got there 10 minutes later. When the 2 workers were clearly overwhelmed trying to multitask 4 customers with more coming in. Someone who walked in after me got seated and started her pedicure while I sat in a chair. I waited around 20 minutes, then got "seated"to have my hands soaked for another 20 while a tech worked on someone who came in way after me. It was just a basic shellac manicure. Should've been fast. Instead, it took forever. I had to rush out and didn't look at my nails until later--totally uneven, some cut crooked. Still trying to get polish out of the edges of my nails. Giving the place one stars today because I am in pain after the lady used a grater on my foot until it was raw and pink. It was almost bleeding. This is my fourth time visiting this salon and probably would be my last. I wanted a French tip shellac manicure, the lady said it's an additional charge of $10, which is not a big deal. The smell of incense is what got me somewhat nauseous and uneasy. They barely speak good English here, which is fine. I pick the color and they usually would get the job done. However, today they screw up big time on a shellac mani. I did not realize until I got home which is too late. The side of the paint is overdone, with water exposure, this specific nail won't last 4 days. Oh well, lesson learned. Should've paid attention to all the other reviewers on here. Updated THREE HR LATER. I paid $10 for ONE gold dot on eat hand.....the dot fell off within a few hrs. I didn't see the reviews on here before hand. Great deal on Groupon. Just ...I felt like it was tooo rushed. There are streak lines on some of my shellac nails on the side. Little dips and areas that is missing paint. I didn't notice it at first, it was so rushed that I didn't have time to check after each paint. Only noticed all these little issues afterwards. Now I'm giving 4 star because I do love the color and some of the shapes. I think the nails would have been perfect IF she didn't rush to do it. I hadn't gotten my nails/toes done in over six months and wanted to treat myself after starting a new job and prepping for a big meeting. I used a Groupon for a shellac manicure and pedicure and booked a 9:30 AM appointment. Here's what happened: Opening Issues: Despite the salon advertising an 8:00 AM opening, it was locked when I arrived. I had to call and wait for the owner to show up, which already felt unprofessional. Cleanliness: The salon was filthy--dust everywhere, old and dirty furniture, and full garbage bins. I was too grossed out to touch the nail polishes on display. Unprofessional Behavior: The owner was kind but distracted, talking on the phone and flirting with someone while intermittently complaining about her life as a single mom (something I empathized with). She seemed paranoid and constantly looked out the window, making the atmosphere tense. Service Issues: The chairs were unsanitary, and the tools didn't look properly cleaned. During the service, she snapped at me when I accidentally dropped my phone. I also felt pressured to tip her generously and to book directly with her instead of Groupon, which felt unprofessional. The results were horrifying: My toes had blood around the edges, were unevenly cut, and the polish didn't stay on. My nails hurt terribly because the polish bled into my skin and was applied too thickly. My nail beds are now red, inflamed, and ruined, with significant damage to my natural nails. The ladies are nice, which is why I gave 2 stars. The quality of the paint job and cutting of my nails were both horrendous. I spent so long growing out my toe nails to get the perfect square I wanted and she chopped them all off. Like completely without asking while I was talking to the lady next to me. I asked for square nails on my fingers beforehand and she told me no and butchered those as well so I should have known but come on. She also painted my nails both toes and fingers to my skin!!! I had to point it out on my hands and she filed filed filed until they were painful and I had little hangnails hanging out. I also got gel and it cracked and came off of my fingers in ONE DAY!! There was two workers and 8 ladies in chairs including me (I was the first one in) and she was still taking appointments in "10 minutes" on the phone. Also I have been to this salon a few times over the years for different services and it has really gone down him. Things are dirty, falling apart pedicure chairs, junk piled up all around. It's clear they are just trying to put butts in chairs and get as much money as possible without caring about the quality of the service. Pay a little more and go anywhere else. read more

After a break from this nail salon, I attempted to retry it again, hoping that they had grown in experience since my last visit. I can safely say that they are just as crappy as they were from my previous review. Knowing that they have limited knowledge of proper nail care, in addition to the fact that they have lackluster execution on services & zero sanitation practices... It's a shame they still legally hold a license to operate. I went in, expecting a basic pedi and mani to tidy up my nails after a weekend of gardening. It was a pretty routine appointment which ended in a sloppy shellac job, and an infected toe that has now cost me a visit to urgent care. Sounds over the top, but the fact that it's been 2 days of throbbing pain & a swollen big toe. I figured I should probably have it checked out before I caught a fungus. I know it sounds dramatic, but take a peek at the picture below and I'm sure that you'll agree this place sucks. Before posting this follow up review, I had called and stop by the establishment to see if maybe they could give me guidance on why this is happening. Instead of giving two shits about what they caused, I was offered for me to let it heal & to come back again for a free pedi. Who in the right mind would ever roll the dice on a 3rd disaster. It's my bad for not just paying full price at a better salon, but I feel like it's even worse that they know that they are spreading fungal infections, and expecting us to act like it's a normal experience. Unethical! Unorganized salon ever! I was forced and asked to give the tip which was a shameless act by the lady at the counter. Firstly, they harassed me by cancelling my online pre-paid appointment by themselves and gave pathetic service. On top of that I was asked to give tip in a really bad way at the counter by their receptionist and charged me taxes on top of tip $5.00 as I said charge me $5.00 if you really want tip. These people need to learn ethics. Service & quality is required to earn extra as tips which they forcefully ask instead of earning it. I am beyond disappointed and feel ripped off. I went to this place in hopes of a quick mani pedi and ended up paying the same I would have anywhere else who would do a quality job. First of all, they did not get rid of my cuticles. The nails are not painted all the way and are lumpy. I had also gotten a pedicure and with the "20% discount" they claimed they gave it was still $88 total for the gel mani and pedi. The owner Van did not provide quality service. My experience was overall very disappointing. The salon itself is in need of some repairs in particular the massage seats . When I entered, I was offered water and said I would like it however, it never came. I eventually followed up about the water someone said they would get it for me and they never did. I also specifically asked for Black for my nails, and they did navy blue however, because of the lighting you could not tell inside, but as soon as I walked outside in the sun, I noticed it. I went for a mani + pedi as a little treat for myself before my wedding day. The pedicure lady was nice and did her job well. The manicure lady however rushed me from the very beginning, she hurt my cuticles while cleaning and was very rude to me. Everything here is an extra charge after you buy a Groupon. Which I happily paid for but the service was nothing short of horrible. The mani lady was rude from the beginning and I could see her talking about me to the pedicure lady which I wasn't comfortable with. Apart from that she was on call the whole time and also splitting time between me and the other guests. She painted my nails a particular color which I didn't like and she tried to just dismiss it saying it looks beautiful (not even caring for my opinion). I asked for a color change and she said that would be additional charge which I paid in full. But even after that I received a botched manicure with hurt cuticles. She didn't even clean the previous color off my nails and when I asked her to; she replied saying that it will go away on its own. I had to rush to another salon the day of my wedding to get it repaired because it looked awful. In total I paid more than a $100 for the botched job and I left the salon crying because she made me feel so bad about myself when I should have been excited for my wedding. My fiancé was distraught that I had to go through such an experience a day before the wedding. I'm somewhat speechless after leaving Night Light Nails today. While I had a number of minimal complaints that aren't worth noting regarding the aesthetic and customer experience, I'll highlight the things that will keep me from returning. First, my spouse and I had manicure/pedicures scheduled for 4:00PM and we were finally seen at 4:20 (myself) and 4:45 (my spouse). Second, the quality of the gel manicure is subpar at best as there's globs of clear gel cured onto my fingertips. Thirdly, the pedicures were even more painstakingly slow and left much to be desired. I pulled my foot away in pain at least ten times. Fourthly, my toe nail polish wasn't even started by 6:15 and because I had plans later, I had to skip the polishing. In addition to all of these things, it was evident that proper hygiene and cleanliness was not being followed for the equipment by the technicians as I watched the technician sheath their clippers and tools without any cleaning after use. I also watched my tech pick at their face while I was getting a head and shoulder massage. My spouse found a huge hairball in the bag of paraffin wax halfway through its tenure on her hands. Overall, the experience was truly awful and I feel taken advantage of. The cost was exorbitant and not remotely justified for the quality of service I received. I do not want to write a review that puts these kind folks' livelihood in jeopardy, but this was a bad experience and I don't want others to experience this, too. read more

I feel like only 85% of my nail surface area was covered which is obvious to me since I'm looking at my hands every day. I hate to write very negative reviews, but my recent experience at this salon was so disappointing that I would like to spare others similar experiences. I reserved 2 pedicures for a friend and I, and at least this part of the process was easy and quick. However, my nail tech kept getting up every minute or so to go do something else. The whole time. The place was pretty busy but there were also 10 people working, so I'm not sure why she kept getting up, especially in the middle of different phases of the service. The actual service itself was terrible: the foot "scrub" consisted of her literally passing the sponge under my foot once, and the leg "massage" was just wiping oil on my legs and nothing more. I am quite pregnant so I really would have liked a little bit more effort at these particular services. Worse still, when I asked her to cut the corners of my big toe nails so they wouldn't hurt, she went in aggressively, causing me a ton of pain and causing me to bleed all around my nail on both sides. She recognized what had happened so decided not to do the second foot until after paraffin wax softened it. But honestly I ask for this shaping at every salon, and I have NEVER had this kind of experience or need to do it after paraffin--and the corners have been in worse shape/more painful going into other places, so there's just no reason for what happened here. In addition to my bad experience, my friend discovered that her polish job was botched and she had a thick ridge of paint on her big toe nail. My paint job was totally uneven, thick in some parts with little gaps in others. We didn't have time to redo it. I am not sure how my friend felt about her shaping, but the shaping of my other nails was totally uneven. So the experience was not relaxing and the outcome was not particularly nice. Maybe they are better as a manicure place. But I will not be back to find out. read more

Torture Session - Don't go here unless your up for tolerating pain. I got a fill and the individual was so ruff that my skin was bleeding by the time I was 1/4 of the way through my appointment. The treatment lead me to believe this person gets some type of satisfaction from being aggressive with clients. Adding insult to injury, the individual made me repeat myself on several occasions while answering questions even though we were sitting less than a two feet away from each other. Over and over again my skin was filed, buffed and burning from the lack of human decency enough to care to be gentle. I'm leaving this review because its not the first time this has been the scenario at this salon. Even after all that, my nails look atrocious. There was minimal clean up after the drummel was used so I have excess acrylic under my nails and a bit on some of the sides. No oil was applied before being asked to wash my hands which would have soothed the raw skin around my nails. I got regular nail polish, not gel and its more dull then I've ever had before. There was no high gloss top coat put on at the finish. I should have went home and applied my own regular nail polish that has a shine. I couldn't see the label but it looked like a base coat, which is not meant to have much of a shine. Since I'm not willing to take a chance on having a similar experience again, I won't be returning to this Salon. read more

I went for a mani pedi with my friend and I wish we had gone somewhere else. My nail tech for the mani was so rude and rough with my hands that my nails still hurt. First off, she was clearly pissed that I insisted she file my nails rather than clip. Which I get is picky, but also who isn't particular about their nails? Then, she went way too deep into my finger nail with the under-nail scraper and when I asked her to be more gentle she just got more rude. After she did a horrible job at filing my nails I literally just did it myself. She was very obviously angry about that so I asked for a different nail tech and the very nice owner/manager came over and helped me finish my dominant hand, but I literally felt like getting up and leaving at that point. Afterwards, the rude nail tech came back and did a very shoddy job painting my nails. Pics available. Overall this was a terrible experience. I went to get my lashes done on Monday. By Friday there were huge chunks missing where lashes had fallen off. My natural lashes were all stuck together because they used so much glue. I emailed them asking for a refund of some kind and included pictures and they blocked me. I had to spend $90 getting fixed because they were that bad! Always have a wonderful experience here. I've stopped in manyyy a time over the past decade, and each time I have felt special and taken care. The owner [I believe her to be] is an absolutely badass. She goes above and beyond... so friendly and professional (not to mention fabulous!). She remembered me after just one visit, which always makes you feel good. Its pretty incredible watching her do her job! This goes for the rest of the staff, as well. They're true professionals. My easily-damaged nails can be difficult to work with, yet they've never made me feel like a pain in the butt or embarrassed for it (other salons certainly have!). At Night Light, the ladies always make you feel welcome immediately upon entering. Oh and of course, the product is top notch- best in the area by far!
