This review is solely for our takeout meal. The 2 stats are for the food being freshly cooked when we arrived. Just a 30 min wait, time we'll spend talking in the car with hubby after a long work week. Catfish, shrimp fries and hush puppies with ordinary store bought Cole slaw swimming in mayo with absolutely no seasoning. The fish followed suit with a cornmeal dusting. The shrimp had a light batter and fried. Fries were under cooked with no salt. My hush puppies were undercooked inside. That's it blah meal. I chose here since it's the Lenten season and Fridays are for seafood. I have been avoiding this place since I really was not drawn to it. read more

My husband and I stopped here for lunch today and it was fantastic! The woman at the register was delightful- she was kind, patient, and helpful especially with it being our first time there. We both got grilled salmon with shrimp, and shared fries, mac and cheese and coleslaw. Everything was phenomenal, the salmon was juicy and perfectly cooked and seasoned. We have no complaints at all, we were very happy with everything. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

Excellent! I swing in here and get either flounder and shrimp or just shrimp. I'm a fan of their collards! The shrimp with collards and a drink is what's up. Tastes great. Never questionable if ya know what I mean! The gentleman and lady are very nice. I'm gonna give an honest review on my first visit to seafood kitchen. When you walk in it looks a lot like a cheap Chinese food restaurant. My son and I ordered about $27 worth of food and for that location and the price of what they have that's quite a bit of food. But yelpers beware of any photos posted on their listing regarding the paper menu or crab legs because they are very misleading. I was told when ordering at the counter that they no longer offer paper menus because their pricing has changed. In addition they do not offer crab legs at all. Also note that if you order the crabcake they do not make them they come out of the box and they do not taste very good. My son and I both had the collard greens they are not seasoned at all they taste like they came out of a golden corral can. General cleanliness of the location is kind of sad. The ketchup bottles on the table were empty and I was directed to go next to the soda machine to get a nasty sticky Costco size ketchup bottle to use at my table. The best way I can describe it is the KFC of fried seafood it's nothing special but they definitely give you enough food to make you full for the price but everything is very bland. Best fresh seafood in the area without paying an arm and a leg. I really enjoy the cod and haddock which are both Atlantic cold water fish. It may be a small hole in the wall but the owner is so friendly. This is our go to seafood restaurant. Seafood Kitchen has some new items on the menu and I opted for the grilled shrimp and flounder and my wife had the boom boom shrimp. Five stars read more

This was my first time here. I got their flyer at my store when they first opened for business. But didn't get a chance to make it there for lunch. I did ask a couple of my friends how was the food. They said it was OK. But sometimes you got to try things for yourself. Since everyone's opinions are verrrrrry different. Lol! But it's your regular mom and pop kind of restaurant. There was a little wait for my food. But I didn't mind cause its seafood. And I'll rather wait so I know it's cooked all the way. Lol! Customer service was great too. Everyone was friendly. The most disrespectful meal. So we ordered the Shrimp Po boy, the shrimp basket and a side of fried calamari. The shrimp Po boy was a joke! The sauce was on the side (thank you) the bread was dry, they had little to no lettuce on it and two pieces of tomatoes on 1/4 of the sandwich. We literally laughed when we saw it. Everything was fried in old oil so it had a bitter taste and the calamari...just don't do it. Frozen not freshly made and extremely fishy. I stopped at this place while I waited for my BMW to be repaired at a nearby shop. I was riding my folding Bike which doesn't take up much room. They seem to be so concerned about my bike being in the Dinning area during slow to no business and COVID restrictions in place. They Let me keep in the the dinning area until after I paid for my order to go and then they insisted I take it out side. The order was disappointing the beard was hard and the scrimp lack seasoning. I have driven past this restaurant many times over the last few years. Today I decided to give it a try and I can tell you that it's worth it. Walked into the place which is setup almost like a Chinese restaurant with a ordering counter and a few tables for dine in. Their menu is quite extensive and it took me a few minutes to settle on the shrimp and cod platter which was reasonably priced. While I waited, I spoke with the owner (?) Lou, who was extremely friendly. He gladly spoke about where he sources the seafood and how they strive for quality. I ordered takeout so when I got back to my office to enjoy the food, I was delighted with my order. Everything was fried perfectly with a light cornmeal breading. The shrimp and cod tasted great, especially paired with their tangy orange sauce. I will return to this place again and try other menu items. read more

Wouldn't eat here again if it were free. Shrimp Po boy came with no sauce? Had to ask for it (not sure how you miss one of the key parts to this sandwich). The ketchup in the bottles in the restaurant is odd. It actually appears to be cocktail sauce based on the clumpy texture. I opened a bottle at the table and it exploded and made a mess all over me, the table and the wall. Not sure what they are doing to it but I noticed multiple bottles that were swollen as if they were also waiting to explode. While you certainly expect fried food to be greasy it was a bit much even then. Definitely won't be back. read more

This place came up when I was looking for seafood in Chesapeake. So I'd say that this is a baby step up from Captain D's. It was good, but nothing to write home about. Took them an hour to make my plate, when I called and asked what was taking so long this VERY rude Chinese woman told me they don't partner with Uber eats and they weren't making my food. I called Uber who then called them and what do you know... they partner with Uber eats & all of the sudden "made my order and were waiting for someone to pick it up" . We ordered the large platter with flounder and shrimp with fries through Grubhub. It arrived in about 30 minutes and was still hot. The 8 shrimp were wonderful, the best we have ever had. They were large and fried with a light crust. The flounder was very fresh tasting and good. The 6 pieces were thin slices and narrow, not like the fish is pictured on the website. It was a little overcooked, but tasted good. The fries were limp, but tasted ok. The hushpuppies weren't as good as Captain D's, they needed to be a little sweeter. We have been to the location on Ferrell Parkway, and we ordered grouper, and got much larger portions of that. I don't know if the kind of fish you order dictated how big the pieces are, but for the price of 23.99, we expected more fish. We were busy clearing out garage so we wanted it delivered, and this location was closest. I really want to give 3 and a half stars but not able to. I think next time we will order to go at the Ferrell Parkway location. read more

We are regulars. Owners and employees are very nice and friendly. Food is plentiful and very good. Love the flounder and coconut shrimp. Sides are fries and slaw which are also very good. Hush puppies are excellent! Glad we found this place! Always a good experience. read more

The facility is located in a nice clean area in Chesapeake across from Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. The decor was difficult to determine because of current Covid-19 restrictions. The service could have been a bit better. He appeared occupied and rushed. He was taking orders over the phone and walk-ins so that might explain his demeanor. The taste of the food, wow! I ordered the shrimp & crab cake combo. It was tremendous. However, the establishment only offers 1 side with each meal no matter what you order. The only exception is if you order the 'Big Easy'. But even with the 'Big Easy', you only get your choice of one side. The other side is by default and it is cole-slaw. What if I don't want cole-slaw? The presentation is poor. The food comes in a styrofoam tray. Because you only get one side the tray looks empty. The crab cake is cooked a little too dark for my liking, but it does not taste burnt. read more

I live across the street from this place but can't walk and don't drive. 2 HOURS LATER I get the delivery. Grub Hub is bullshit. This business is bullshit. The food was so cold I couldn't eat it. The ice in the drink melted long before I ever got the order. Horrible experience. Don't ever ever ever order from GrubHub or even go to this place for food. I once saw the guy at the register stick his bare hand in the trash to push it down and then turn around and touch the food on the counter. I said to myself then I would never eat there again.
