This is a superior restaurant for fresh take-out seafood. The menu was so amazing that we had to let the couple behind us in line go ahead because we could not make up our minds about which treat to eat. We ended up with two seafood platters featuring a REAL crab cake (very little breading, great seasoning), shrimp, and fish. The service was so good, excellent! The sense of humor of the cashier and the kindness of the chef was so kind to his staff and customers. The restaurant's vibe was very pleasant and relaxing. The customers were very diverse in all areas, some in suits, others in jeans, and some picking up for others. We felt very comfortable, the wait times were great. The location is very convenient and easy to get to and find parking. The food was amazing. We have been back a few times since our initial visit with orders for our Friday Fish night family meals. You will love Chef Skip's! read more

Stopped by after donating clothes and shoes to MercyDrops Dream Center. Needed a quick lunch so I scoured the area in another food app to place an order somewhere nearby. Parking was minimal but I grabbed a spot towards the end of the short lot attached to the small strip mall. The interior was pretty empty but clean. I saw several people pop in to pick up to-go orders like myself while I waited. The young lady at the counter wasn't rude, but very straight and to the point. Seemed eager to continue her conversation with coworkers in the kitchen. Food was definitely freshly cooked. Fish and shrimp were well seasoned, crispy, and juicy. read more

I met a friend here expecting to stay and eat but they had all the tables set off to the side. Some chairs were set out for waiting. We decided to Hust go to a park and eat and I'm so glad! Portsmouth City Park is close by and it was a beautiful day. I had the Oyster Po Boy and it was fantastic. The slaw was amazing and the oysters were perfectly fried. I also got a side of salmon bites. They're chunks of fried salmon, the house sauce was fantastic with them. My son would be over the moon if he was there. He loves salmon! I feel a need to work my way through their entire menu.... Can't wait to go again. read more

The wings were so goodt. Lemon pepper with fries. It did not disappoint and I wanted to try the platter but i will get that the next time.

This is another little gem hidden in Portsmouth. It's tucked away right at the intersection of Portsmouth and Airline Blvd, so it's easy to miss amongst all the traffic there. If you're lucky enough to give them a try, you'll see that their menu is simple but perfect and gets the job done for sure. I have a texture complex "CRUNCH". You'll be sure to get this, as most the menu is fried. I'm usually pulled in by the sweet chili 8 Piece Wings, or the fried shrimp. Their delicious. Other items I've tried are the Philly cheesesteak and the catfish.... Both are great. The beautiful orchid used to dress each order puts a huge smile on my face every time. They're surely like no other when it comes to this element. I love them for that! It's not 5 star dining, but took a chance with a friend once. We had a great time with the staff. Give them a try! You won't regret it. In fact, you might find yourself craving them every now and again. read more

We ordered meals from Chef Skip 757 at the Portsmouth Blvd location on Doordash. We had ordered food from another establishment the day before and were seriously disappointed, so we were a little hesitant to order from another place we didnt know. We all agreed that it was the best seafood we have had in a long time. The fish was tender and flaky, the breading was tasty with just a hint of a kick. We had two combos; Seven City's and Shrimp and Oysters. The portions were large and fried to perfection. I was concerned about not getting tarter or cocktail sauces, but the House and Mambo Sauces were delicious and went with the food beautifully. Even the extra coleslaw I ordered was simply superb. Repeat Doordarsh customers over here. Plus I realized that the restaurant is close to my church as well. read more

I was craving for shrimp po'boys this week. So when I saw Chef Skip 757 on Yelp this morning, I decided I want to give this place a try. Chef Skip 757 is located in a strip building around the intersection of Portsmouth Blvd, Victory Blvd., and Airline Blvd. According to their staff, they've been only open for a month and this is their second location. The other one is on VA Beach and they started as a food truck. The first thing that came to my mind when I first came in was the satisfied faces from the customers. I took that as a good sign when I approach the counter. The server's name was Antoinette and she was very welcoming and pleasant. Even Chef Skip (not sure if that was his real name) was very pleasant as well. They were helpful and gave me tips on how I can enjoy my visit in this restaurant. As for the food, I was torn between the shrimp po'boy and the crab cake sandwich. I decided to order the po'boy in the end. When my food is ready, I was very impressed on how beautiful the presentation was. It was very appetizing. Not only was the food pretty, it tasted good as well. The shrimp were seasoned well and is very delicious. Even the the fries was really good. I will probably order an extra of their Chef Skip's House Sauce next time. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. I highly recommend this place to all those seafood lovers as well. With delicious and affordable prices, Chef Skip 757 is going to be on of my usual places in Portsmouth. read more

This place has fish (that isn't tilapia) and shrimp tacos, which is a huge plus considering I'm pescaterian. So they give you two tacos with a plate of fries and I must admit it's affective. I didn't like heading they only give you two tacos with an order but the tacos are a very good size and the fries are very good. My primary gripe is because it's not a Mexican spot, they don't have toppings I attribute to tacos that i like and prefer such as fresh jalapeños, mushrooms, onions, cilantro. I would definitely be a patron here again. Oh I forgot to mention, the food overall is good, your time I feel won't be wasted here. read more

We didn't even take pictures because it smelled so good and forgot but every bite was packed with flavor. The prices are great and the quality is above and beyond. The portions aren't huge....meaning American sized lol, so they are perfectly sized and you genuinely feel full after eating. Wife got the Philly cheesesteak and I got the crab cake sandwich. Fries are crispy and they actually added an orchid flower on atop our meal!! We will definitely be ordering again. read more

Let me start off by saying this opinion is based solely on my opinion and my opinion alone!. My wife ordered a fish and shrimp platter and I had a fish and fries platter that she picked up this evening! My fish was mediocre at best( over breaded )and the fries were cold and hard! I may have to try something else before I can update this review, but so far I was not impressed with what I ate at all.. I would say I may return at a later date and give them another try at some point I guess. I forgot to add they have a sauce they give you with your food,I was not a fan of it.. and the biggest drawback of all is how can you serve fish and not carry tartar sauce, it may just be me but fish and tartar sauce go hand and hand..I was dissatisfied and disappointed!... read more

I recently placed an order through Door Dash for Chef Skip Portsmouth location. I ordered the fish tacos and banana pudding. The banana pudding was amazing s/o to sweet treats! The fish inside the tacos was undone, it was mushy, the fried batter couldn't even stay on the fish. I had to finish cooking the fish in MY OWN GREASE because it was so undone. I would not recommend this was my last and final straw with this place. This isn't the first time my food was TRASH. I don't know if they were rushing or not but THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. They only get one star because of the Banana pudding. read more

Thank you, Chef Skip 757 for an epic meal! This was a spur of the moment stop while driving through Portsmouth, but it is now a "go to" spot for amazing food! We ordered the Chicken Philly, Shrimp and Philly Cheese Steak Fries with Pink Lemonade. It was all fantastic! The food was cooked to order and to perfection. It was seasoned very well and the presentation was first class, even in a to-go box. The staff was friendly and efficient. Parking may be problematic if you have a large vehicle, but there is a grassy area near that will accommodates the actual parking lot is a bit tight. It's all good at Chef Skip's 757 and definitely worth your time. read more

Holy cow YOU MUST EAT HERE. I'll admit I was pretty skeptical when I saw the outside and it looks like a hole in the wall but don't let the aesthetics fool you! The fish tacos were some of the best I've ever had. We watched as he cooked them and you can see how fresh it is. They were cooked to absolute perfection and I was obsessed with the flavors. Huge pieces of fish and just the right amount of slaw. Drooling just thinking about it. The fries were the perfect amount of crunchy and nice flavoring as well. Husband and I ordered from Chef Skip 757 via a delivery app. We were pleasantly surprised when the food arrived hot and crispy in under 30 minutes. I ordered the fish & shrimp w/ fries. The portion was enormous, and the shrimp were HUGE. Husband ordered a cheesesteak sandwich w/ fries. We split a crabcake (which is *loaded* w/ crabmeat). Everything was great! The special sauce (served on the side) tasted good on everything. I def. recommend ordering extra sauce; worth the tiny upcharge. We'll be back, for sure! read more
