I had a gift card for grub hub and decided to try the shrimp and grits. It was full of grease and the grits had no seasoning.

Amazingly awesome service that outlined menu and answered a barrage of questions I had about the menu. Provided great recommendations to feed my late night appetite! What is also great you may ask? Happy hour specials for the late eaters!! That's right happy hour treats after 9 pm, what a concept! Full bar to choose from, I had local draft IPA to wash down this delicious treat. Had some crispy rolls, kimchi fried rice with mojo pork and an Asian slaw dog. Mmm mmm mmm all around! Portions are decent so bring your appetite! Truly enjoyed the kimchi fried rice, the dog had a lot of bun and slaw yet still hit the spot. Great vice within this place with some music in the background, not overpowering to have casual convos either at the bar or your table. Great for single dinner plan, date night or a group of friends. Recommend checking this one out if you have not given it a try!!

When arrived looks pretty much like former restaurant less decorations. Two groups seated about eleven persons. Bar was empty. Slowly filled two more tables and three or four at the bar. About 20 persons in total. Most of the visit, only single waitress serving tables and bar as long with busing tables. Kitchen is semi open. Only one person could be send in kitchen. Two persons only seemed understaffed for near full menu service and bar. No bus person, kitchen help, runner, or dish washer seen. Menu Asian fusion for lack of better term. Ordered scallion pancakes and spicy spring rolls. Service slow.... After ordering. Pancakes are one of my favorite snacks. Order portion size was large for appetizer. Scallion pancakes should be chewy with a flakey crust, savory with an onion punch from the scallions. These were chewy with no flakiness at all. Sort of like a flour tortilla with onion in the mix. The dip was like extra salty soy sauce spiked with raw ginger, strong and almost inedible. Then about five minutes later spring rolls arrived. Piping hot then down hill. First impression,, over cooked and greasy. Did not appear to have been drained. two small puddles of oil in dish below rolls. Sort of cross between lumpia and cha gio with appeal of neither. Noodles and meat wrapped together and fried. Favors muddled and greasy. Dipping sauce not much either. As a person who has sat through many food handlers permit classes. I witnessed a no-no with the waitress. Concerning.... It appears that disjointed service front to back needs improvement. Like location and ideas but without consistent execution it will likely fail in long run. Will be back?? Not likely Never say never. If still open this time next year?? Plus next block up there is very good ramen/Filipino/Vet place.

It happened to be Restaurant Week, which made us a little nervous, but it ended up being totally fine. The dining room never felt overly crowded, the noise level was comfortable, and having the Restaurant Week prix fixe, drink specials, and regular menu all available gave us plenty of options without feeling overwhelming. One small note: the plastic logo cups served with the water decanter felt a little out of place. They were a bit sharp on the lips and didn't quite match the rest of the dining experience. Minor detail, but noticeable. The drinks, however, were excellent. On our server's recommendation, my husband ordered the Gingerbread Old Fashioned and I had the Salted Caramel Martini. Both were seasonal specials and both were fantastic. When we asked about the scotch eggs, our server explained they're normally a brunch-only item. We were a little disappointed (and may have made a few pouty faces while explaining we'd come specifically for them for his birthday), but we quickly let it go, it obviously wasn't her fault. What we didn't realize was that she went back and told the kitchen manager that it was his birthday and that we'd made the trip just for those scotch eggs. Since the kitchen wasn't slammed, they decided to make them anyway and surprised us with an order. We were honestly floored. My husband was thrilled. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. And the scotch eggs were exactly what he'd been hoping for! They were crispy on the outside with a rich, savory center. For entrées, his Nashville Hot Chicken was juicy with the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming. My Haystack Burger was stacked and delicious, though the BBQ sauce was strong enough to overshadow the pickled green tomato a bit. The fries were fantastic - crispy, battered, and perfect from first bite to last. Our server checked in at all the right times and kept drinks refilled without us needing to ask. The fact that she went out of her way to do something special during one of the busiest weeks on a restaurant's calendar says a lot about both her and the restaurant. Rustic Spoon is the kind of place that works just as well for a casual date night as it does for a birthday dinner or a night out with friends.

We know Uber Eats customer service sucks and it was no different here. I decided to call the Rustic Spoon and the manager identified the issue immediately. There was a Joshua P who ordered almost the same thing as me Joshua F minus the pancakes. Most places turn you away and tell you to deal with Uber but as a reviewer I also love to review customer service. The manager took ownership of the issue and let me know I could pick up the pancakes. When I get there, he was waiting at the front door for me, had my food hot and ready, and added something a little extra for the mistake. My wife loves this place and I understand why. I trained bank associates on customer service and soft skills and if I could've recorded this interaction, it would've been the best training one could offer. We often overlooked how important excellent service is and how it influences customers. This situation turned me into a supporter of this business going forward. Btw my food was awesome and the Apple Pie pancakes were worth it.

Staff were accommodating and friendly. The restaurant has a nice ambiance fit for an enjoyable fun night of drinks and food. To drink, I tried their $5 Cranberry Crush (7/10) it was refreshing and slushy, but not strong at all really just a slushy juice and the Georgia Peach (10/10) loved the flavor and was a decently strong drink. To eat, we started with the Pork Rinds appetizer (10/10) they were definitely fresh and flavorful; I loved the sauce that came with them. I also ordered the Catfish basket (5/10) I was excited when this came to the table because it looked as though it would taste good and was a great portion size; however, it didn't meet my expectations at all. There was no flavor to the fish or batter and the Mac and cheese was very much the same way, bland. Though I am giving a lower rating, I would come back for drinks and to possibly try a different food. Feel like I must've ordered the wrong thing or the cook was having a bad night? I have no clue, but I'm open to returning in the future. My overall rate of experience : 6/10

The both of us, well three of us if you count the dog, enjoyed our meals. I went with the doggy-style version of the Chicken n Waffles. This take on the classic dish included: a bacon-infused waffle, fried chicken thigh, sausage gravy, candied bacon, and bourbon maple syrup. Overall, I enjoyed the dish with the small exceptions that the batter made the waffle really heavy for my personal tastes. I'm more of a fan of light, fluffy waffles. Unfortunately, I did not know this at the time, but the kitchen puts the syrup on the waffle for you. Personally, I like to add my own syrup because I do not like too much syrup on my waffles (and pancakes). However, those two minor issues did not take away from the dish. Also, the other aspects of the dish made up for those minor inconveniences. My partner ordered the Pongo, which was served with a fried chicken thigh, cheddar biscuit, scrambled egg, sausage gravy, house potatoes. If you are a fan of Bloody Marys, the restaurant has a selection of 4 or 5 interesting Bloody Marys. I went with the Porky's Revenge, which had bacon-infused vodka, Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix and a bacon-dusted rim. Both of us were quite pleased with our selections. Also, come here hungry because the serving sizes are quite large. Because of the large serving sizes, I thought the prices were relatively fair compared to other places the area. Actually, I would change "fair" to "generous". Both of our dishes were about 17 bucks with the 4ish dollar 'doggy style' add on. Generally speaking, our waitress was really on the ball. Although we were sitting outside, she frequently checked in us and was very professional while being funny. Hopefully, we can make another stop here during our next Va. Beach vacation adventure.

I was taken care of by the chef and she was very helpful with the menu. They have so many appetizing options on their mostly healthy, all fresh menu. I love soup, so I love that they offer several each day, with some standards, plus a soup of the day, which on the day I visited was cream of potato. Where I sat at the counter, I could watch them making all the food and I was impressed to see that they don't just ladle soup into a bowl to serve it, they actually cook and prepare, then dress it to plate it perfectly. Their cream of potato was really good and not the traditionally made where the potato is pureed into the soup - rather they make a creamy soup base and then add potatoes to it. The combo of the soup, a small piece of potato, scallion, and a small piece of bacon really made for a great spoonful in each spoonful I enjoyed!! My coworker got their Asian Chicken Noodle and that looked amazing! He said it was incredible. Next up was the entrée and we both got their lamb gyro.... It's not the traditional gyro, it's an openfaced style, just like their chicken salad toast. It was really good! The tzatziki was great on it! And we also got a side of their cucumber feta salad... this tasted fresh and the feta was vibrant, with the combo of the cucumber and feta together being incredibly tasty. Overall, another very nice visit to a Stockpot restaurant... Looks like I need to try their Chesapeake location to get the trifecta of Stockpot! Highly recommend stopping in!

I ended up ordering the southwestern skillet with a lamb burger, and honestly, it was one of those meals you don't forget. The flavors were just... dialed in. Everything tasted intentional--perfectly seasoned, balanced, and comforting without being heavy. And the lamb? That slight gaminess added just the right amount of depth and richness to the dish. It didn't overpower anything--it completed it. What really stood out to me, though, was how effortless the whole experience felt. The staff were genuinely friendly--not in a scripted way, but the kind that makes you feel welcome right away. And the service was quick, which I appreciated since I was trying to make the most of a short trip. There's something about this place that feels like a local gem you almost don't want to share--but at the same time, you know people need to know about it. If I had more time in Norfolk, I would've gone back without hesitation. It's the kind of spot that makes you wish your trip was just a little bit longer.
