first visit... very busy on sunday @ 1:30 - brunch til 2 was probably the reason! i missed that there was a brunch buffet! but i probably arrived too late to take advantage of it. i did select from brunch menu - fried chicken & beignets. it sounded good and not something you find on many menus. it arrived looking yummy although the beignets were very dark. what happened next amused several nearby tables. i tried to cut the beignet with a butter knife and it FLEW off the table like a rocket leaving a trail of powdered sugar across the table, my purse, my pants until it finally landed on the floor. these were not pillows of dough! i asked for a redo and batch was just as bad. very dark, very tough. the server did come by to ask after redo and seemed unsure if this is how they were supposed to be or not. she did offer replacement and waffle was light and fluffy. chicken came in 2 triangles of tender, moist chicken with a tasty breading and slightly spicy drizzle. nice casual space, outside dining allows for kids to run & play. i enjoyed live music indoors. definitely a spot i'd like to come back and try more of the menu. but NO beignets!!! The way they incorporate the goats into the restaurant is very fun. We have a great time outside of the restaurant. Inside it was a nightmare we had to first wait an hour to be seated. Wait an hour for our food. On top of that the food was awful. Our waitress wouldn't give us the time of day. Saturday morning brunch with the family! The parking lot was packed but, that made no difference as we were seated immediately... our choice inside or outside. It was still nice out around noon so we opted for outside, which was pleasant enough. They have lots of shade from trees and umbrellas, though some tables are still out in the sun. Our server was great very patient and also very helpful, we all ordered refresher beverages which were very good but expensive! We ordered a mix of brunch and lunch and everything was very good. I had the French toast and it was one of the best I've had in the area. Although it wasn't the largest plate full of food, I was very happy with it and satisfied once I finished my meal. My first visit to Screaming goat Yard was with friends for brunch. They do not take reservations but we were lucky and arrived early enough that we had plenty of seating options. We grabbed a table inside and started with mimosa batches. Once we ordered food. It arrived at the table in a timely manner, and I was pleasantly surprised for the food to be as amazing as it was the fried green tomatoes were to die for, it was my first time trying cheese curds they tasted great to me, and all of the other bites that we shared were plentiful and flavorful. The inside area is super cool with a rustic country vibe there's tons of seating outside and a stage for music although there was none at the time we were there and the best part is once your belly is full, you get to go enjoy the goats and even feed them. I absolutely love this place! If you've ever gotten the impression that most of the good ol' rural, small towns in Texas are half dead these days, coming here will dispel the myth. Spring Branch is vibrant and happenin', and this place is one of the proof points. I live 90 minutes from here, relatively close to Austin, and I'm already planning my next trip back because I now want to share it with a few more people. This place was great! We visited early on a Monday morning for breakfast. There was plenty of parking and we decided to pick an outdoor table close to the goats. The tables had various games on them and there was corn hole boards off to the side. There were a lot of large trees nearby so it shaded the area pretty well. I ordered a coffee and the meat pie breakfast with my eggs scrambled, but you could order them any way you prefer. The meat pies were amazing and had a little spice/kick to them. Came here to meet up with some ladies from a local "coffee shop" meet up. The food was delicious, the bread is the perfect crunch to the shrimp. If you aren't a shrimp person they have other options like ham, turkey, crawfish! The espresso martini was great and not too strong. Perfect for brunch and balances out the savory in the food. It was our first time out there and our wait was 2 hours but the staff was super nice. We waited by the fire pit and one of the staff members helped us all night to get it lit. On to the food. When we asked about it, we got vague responses and attitude instead of any kind of apology or clarification. The restaurant has ample seating outdoor seating which occasionally has live music it appears and room for families to hang out with the kids. And we mustn't forget the goats , there's small and little larger ones but they are a joy to watch. But they have easy access to the drinks if you choose to be outdoors, inside has also plenty of room for people to enjoy themselves. Now the main reason for this review, the food, I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich it was flavorful with just a good amount of spicy flavor. It was extremely tasty and with chips or you could choose fries if you want. I have to shout out to the staff, they were excellent took our order and checked in with us if anything else was needed, so a good job. The location has a nice outside and inside area. The staff is friendly but there isn't enough staff for the amount of people that show up to the restaurant. We wanted to sit inside and it was half empty the hour and a half we waited for our table. Outside when ordering a drink I waited in line behind 7 people while the one bartender poured drinks. He was friendly but the drinks weren't very good, had the tea and michelada. Our waiter at the table was great but was again disappointed by the bland food.
