We tried cheese curds, boudin balls, meat pies , the pretzel and fries. ALL of the appetizers were really good. For our meals we got: chicken fried chicken, burgers and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. All of the meals were really good too! Desserts we tried: bread pudding, beignets and another item not on the menu. Here's where they fell short. None of the desserts were good. We wouldn't order any of them again. Ordered the catfish; it was flavorful but over fried. The crust was so thick it wasnt staying on the fish. I wouldn't order it again simply because of that. Great service. My first visit to Screaming goat Yard was with friends for brunch. They do not take reservations but we were lucky and arrived early enough that we had plenty of seating options. We grabbed a table inside and started with mimosa batches. Once we ordered food. It arrived at the table in a timely manner, and I was pleasantly surprised for the food to be as amazing as it was the fried green tomatoes were to die for, it was my first time trying cheese curds they tasted great to me, and all of the other bites that we shared were plentiful and flavorful. The inside area is super cool with a rustic country vibe there's tons of seating outside and a stage for music although there was none at the time we were there and the best part is once your belly is full, you get to go enjoy the goats and even feed them. You want some local fare that's got a good Cajun root? The screaming goat has it! Their red beans and rice is so amazing! I love my Cajun food but most places put shrimp in everything and I'm allergic! Not here! I can get the gumbo, Red Beans and rice and Boudin balls that have the best flavor!! They also have just downright great burgers and breakfast and you really can't go wrong. Then the bar is amazing also. They will make any drink you want, and their specialties are really so yummy! The way they incorporate the goats into the restaurant is very fun. We have a great time outside of the restaurant. Inside it was a nightmare we had to first wait an hour to be seated. Wait an hour for our food. On top of that the food was awful. Our waitress wouldn't give us the time of day. We have been here 3 times now in November. It's been great each time. The hostesses are friendly and welcoming. The servers are attentive, helpful and friendly. Saturday morning brunch with the family! The parking lot was packed but, that made no difference as we were seated immediately... our choice inside or outside. It was still nice out around noon so we opted for outside, which was pleasant enough. They have lots of shade from trees and umbrellas, though some tables are still out in the sun. Our server was great very patient and also very helpful, we all ordered refresher beverages which were very good but expensive! We ordered a mix of brunch and lunch and everything was very good. I had the French toast and it was one of the best I've had in the area. Although it wasn't the largest plate full of food, I was very happy with it and satisfied once I finished my meal. They have lots of different drinks and a variety of dishes on the menu. The easy listening jazz band they had was perfect! So bummed. I always liked this place. I will give it another try before we decide to move on. We had a drink at the bar and an order of Boudin balls. The drink was overpriced for a premixed drink but I let that go. Boudin balls arrived. Fried way too heavily. Dark dark outside. Must have been frozen and they had to fry longer or they just fried too long period. I was hungry from being on the river so we ate them anyway. Our to go order came. They no longer offered the kale sandwich which was honestly the best so I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and husband ordered the crawfish étouffée for $24. The étouffée was in the smallest of small round to-go containers that I actually said something to the bartender like "you have got to be kidding me...this is $24 worth of food???" I reluctantly paid. Got home and husband had maybe 3-4 bites and was done and I opened my sandwich only to find a dry and overcooked piece of chicken that wasn't even edible. They fried it just like the boudin balls. Come on...you pay about $98 for two terrible drinks, an appetizer and two to-go orders and what a waste of money. I will give one more chance and dine in. But spending hard earned money for that is ridiculous. read more

We were here just after they opened about 5 years ago. It was a limited small menu, some bar food, and a few drink options. They have come a long way in 5 years! Huge menu, extensive beer and drink choices, much more seating both inside and out, and goats (!) Our server Emma had only been here a few days. We had questions and she got answers quickly. Since this wasn't her first stint as a server, I do hope it's her last! Meaning ... I would like to have her serve us every time we return, which will be regularly! We both ordered the daily special ($12) and received an excellent Cajun chicken breast, garlic toast, mashed potatoes and a small salad. It was great. The interior is welcoming and not loud. Well my better half had a new years surprise and it was to take us here for our last dinner of 2025. And it was so much fun. The live music was great. I absolutely love this place! If you've ever gotten the impression that most of the good ol' rural, small towns in Texas are half dead these days, coming here will dispel the myth. Spring Branch is vibrant and happenin', and this place is one of the proof points. I live 90 minutes from here, relatively close to Austin, and I'm already planning my next trip back because I now want to share it with a few more people. I love everything about this place - - The creole cuisine, the eclectic decor, the indoor and outdoor stages for live music, the bar featuring amazing beers and endless liquor options, the friendly staff, the local vibe, and yes, even goats, who are always happy for you to pet or feed them. There was a Sunday brunch going on that looked great (including jambolaya). But we'd already had breakfast, so we ordered from the menu. We tried the crawfish ettouffee, fried green tomato BLT, and (nicely spicy) meat pies. Each dish was great. And while we ate, we were serenaded by an amazing singer/writer/guitarist. Love this place! And food price point was just right, especially their brunch price of AYCE for $20, you can't beat that!! And what's even better, the food was actually pretty good!! The food was decent. The coffee was delicious! I went to buy shirts for family members that live out of state. I asked if the shirts were men's cut because they are not out for you to touch which I get. The lady corrected me and said, "They are people cut." This place was great! We visited early on a Monday morning for breakfast. There was plenty of parking and we decided to pick an outdoor table close to the goats. The tables had various games on them and there was corn hole boards off to the side. There were a lot of large trees nearby so it shaded the area pretty well. I ordered a coffee and the meat pie breakfast with my eggs scrambled, but you could order them any way you prefer. The meat pies were amazing and had a little spice/kick to them. first visit... very busy on sunday @ 1:30 - brunch til 2 was probably the reason! i missed that there was a brunch buffet! but i probably arrived too late to take advantage of it. i did select from brunch menu - fried chicken & beignets. it sounded good and not something you find on many menus. it arrived looking yummy although the beignets were very dark. what happened next amused several nearby tables. i tried to cut the beignet with a butter knife and it FLEW off the table like a rocket leaving a trail of powdered sugar across the table, my purse, my pants until it finally landed on the floor. these were not pillows of dough! i asked for a redo and batch was just as bad. very dark, very tough. the server did come by to ask after redo and seemed unsure if this is how they were supposed to be or not. she did offer replacement and waffle was light and fluffy. chicken came in 2 triangles of tender, moist chicken with a tasty breading and slightly spicy drizzle. nice casual space, outside dining allows for kids to run & play. i enjoyed live music indoors. definitely a spot i'd like to come back and try more of the menu. but NO beignets!!! UPDATE: meal was comped, not necessary, i enjoyed the chicken & waffle, but server insisted beignet situation was "ridiculous"! lol! appreciate restaurants that make it right! read more

Second time visiting - or rather trying to visit here and it was a bust!! After driving a while to get here and seeing how crazy the parking lot was we knew it would be a while but we walked in to be 'greeted' by a server who told us it's 90 minutes right now for food which is ridiculous for a place that serves pub food BUT we were just stopping by for a drink and given the fact that the entire place stunk like rancid cooking oil which is the smell I hate most in this world -certainly was not up for food!! We asked about the bar and she told us we could go there ( and interestingly offered that it might be quicker to get food there) so off to the bar we went - we went specifically for Parish Brewing and the bar tender told us that they were not serving that and to ask inside - after dodging people running to go orders we decided that it was just too much effort for a place that could not reciprocate with any effort and headed off to our favorite gastro pub! Came here to meet up with some ladies from a local "coffee shop" meet up. The food was delicious, the bread is the perfect crunch to the shrimp. If you aren't a shrimp person they have other options like ham, turkey, crawfish! The espresso martini was great and not too strong. Perfect for brunch and balances out the savory in the food. Our service was great and our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the food. We had an allergy in the group and she knew which food didn't have citrus. The outside area was great and the breeze was nice. This is probably a great place for live music! Came here on a Saturday at 11:20, got seated in 20 outside, but it took a while for our waitress to come get our order and as of 12:47pm I'm still waiting and getting hangry. Overall the service is meh, our waitress never brought us napkins, we had to ask for waters, we also asked to be seated by a heater and though they would try their best to accommodate, that did not happen. Won't be a problem in the Texas heat. We barely saw our waitress until we had our food. They do have high chairs and super kids friendly place. Atmosphere is great, obviously that's why you come here. Nice big outside. Goats are fun. For $2.50 you can ask the bartender for a bag of goat food. Our toddler loved it. The music was getting ready to play at 3pm on Saturday. For that big a place, a 2 stools bathroom is a little ridiculous. I waited 10mn to go to the bathroom. Uncool.
