This review is based 100% on them catering my daughter's wedding early this year. They exceeded my expectations! When we were checking out different suppliers for catering drinks at her wedding, we found out several things. Those included limited selection of companies in the area, prices ranging from low to exorbitant, and much difference in how those different companies interacted with us and our questions. Bourbon and Branch was the hands down winner. They were not the cheapest, but they were very willing to work with us. On the day of the wedding, they came early for set up. They interacted with all of the wedding party and gave everyone a "warm fuzzy feeling" which put the moms at ease. The actual bartender was a hit. She was funny, efficient, friendly, and kept the drinks flowing smoothly. Will I return? I don't have any more kids to marry off but based on my experience with them, I will definitely try their bar. If you have a wedding planned and are in need of bartender services, I recommend you give this business an opportunity for your most important date. read more

It's been a while since I visited Bourbon & Branch, but I love what they've done with the place since my last visit. They've revamped some of the seating areas and expanded to add a pool room. Bourbon & Branch (B&B) has become our go-to neighborhood bar. The drinks are reasonably priced, you're served a good portion size, and the staff are always friendly/welcoming. It's a small gesture, but the staff have always seemed happy and smiling, this goes a long way in the modern era of predatory business that seems to not care about customer appreciation, B&B does not seem predatory. B&B has a great selection of spirits with something for any taste or preference. They occasionally have live music, which is hit or miss as it's often a little too loud for the space. I definitely do not go there for live music and could completely do without it; I despise having to shout inside a bar or constantly say "huh" when attempting to carry a conversation. read more

Stopped in to try a drink at this spot and it was pretty cool. Full bar with cocktails & good variety of beers on tap. Dimly lit- but casual. Several TVs around, also bar tables & cozy chairs. Pool table in the back room. It was a Monday nt, so not busy, but plenty of room for busier nights. Drink specials every day. No food, but looks like a permanent food truck out front (not open Monday though.) Bartender was nice. We ordered "Happy Hour Specials" and he asked which brand alcohol we wanted, and up-charged 1.50 on each drink when I said "Titos" & husb said "your choice".. hmm. Ok. Then, I guess he got distracted & didn't dress my martini, and forgot to smoke my husband's Old Fashioned. We reminded him & he took it back & smoked it. Overall a decent place. How can you not love looking at a wall of bourbon/whiskey and be happy you found the place. Great service and good music and might I add an amazing quantity of bourbon, whiskey, tequila, beer, and more. First time last night and tha place was packed and rolling. No where to sit which made the experience little less enjoyable for being that we are use to having a table for our drink's and kinda of awkward just standing there so we drank our first and last drinks and left the place but definitely come back maybe during a week day or perhaps little earlier to secure a table.Bartender was cute and got me exactly what I wanted right away and even though it was quite a wait to be served but the crowd was nice and cool which made the wait not to bad and the band was alright but was loud to the point you had yell to have a conversation. Very cool place. We (3 girlfriends) stopped on our way back from a festival in Blanco and the bartender created a custom drink for me with bourbon and they changed the TV in the front room so that we could watch the Belmont Stakes on the couches. Cool upscale, but unpretentious bar right off of 281. It may not look like much from the outside but inside it's a great mellow vibe with live music almost every night! The staff is professional and courteous. They have an extensive drink menu and if you're hungry there's tasty food truck fare just outside. Since my first review we have returned & absolutely LOVED it even more. First things first! In my first review I mentioned that the only thing that I didn't like was that they didn't have fresh mint.... Well, they definitely do! Turns out the bartender that served us on Halloween was helping out because they were so slammed (& they were!) He just didn't know that they had fresh mint. He also made us the blue drink from our first visit that isn't even on the menu...lol Hey! At least he tried! I loved this place so much at Halloween that I called to ask if we could reserve a table or 2 for my birthday. I had tried to book a place in San Antonio out of convenience (location) & of course, it was fully booked. Work parties & Christmas parties always make planning a get together for my bday difficult. I knew it was a Sat night & this would not only be a hard ask but maybe impossible to manage on a Sat night in December but the owner Don was so nice! He & his wife not only reserved a table for us, they also saved the sofa & a table for us so that we had plenty of room for the bday cake & gifts. They went above & beyond to make a complete strangers birthday special & I'm so grateful. We walked in & it was packed! Yet, they still kept our space reserved for us! (We were even running late bc our restaurant took FOREVER!) Then, during the night Don passed by a few times just to make sure our group was doing ok. We were doing great! During this visit, we met their craft mixologist, Pablo & he did not disappoint! I had one of HIS strawberry Mojitos. His drinks were on point! While you watch him make his Smoked Old Fashioned your mouth will be watering... only the taste of it will quench your thirst & you will forever be left wanting another one! From his Chocolate Martini to his Lavender Lemon Drop, every drink he makes is a work of art! There's something about this bar that made every one of my party guests love it! Some of my friends drove from downtown & the medical center. We live 45 mins away but it's worth the drive! The owners make you feel welcome & the other customers are all friendly. As we were trying to get to the bar to order drinks, guests seated at the bar actually MADE room for us... THAT does NOT happen at other places. (At least none that I've been to). The live music was excellent! It wasn't too loud & it wasn't too low.... Perfect volume! The lighting in the bar is so freaking cool! I can't help but laugh at my friends & I bc we loved the neon bar sign so much.... Soooo much that I actually created a collage of photos with it. It was my bday so my big head is smack dab in the middle of these photos but check out the sign! Whatever it cost them.... It was worth every penny! Perfect color, perfect font, perfect size! Fun! This place really is fun! We'd suspected that it would be during our Halloween visit & we were right. Our friends played darts, had a blast playing shuffleboard & we all played pool! Before we left my friend & I walked around giving out birthday cake bc I def was not taking that huge cake home. We met so many happy & friendly people. BTW, this bar has so many comfy seating areas all around it. Guess what I found out.... In my first review I mentioned that it would be cool to meet the owners. Turns out that I was actually IN a photo that I posted w an owner on Halloween. She & I had talked a lot that night. Not once did she mention that she was an owner. I think it's awesome that I had no idea. These days people want to brag but she never told me. That's classy! That's what you will find in this place! Classy, friendly, down to earth people! I take reviews seriously! As you can tell, I write a lot of reviews bc I care! I don't just write 1 or 2 random reviews to complain OR to compliment. Even when I love a place I will find the faults it has (When I thought they didn't have fresh mint... THEY DO!) So, from a super picky Yelp Elite reviewer.... My best advice is.... Go have a Strawberry Mojito w fresh mint or a Smoked Old Fashioned. Ask for Pablo!!! (Though my friends liked the other bartenders also.) Anything you order will be divine & memorable. There Friday 03/07/25. VERY crowded with only 2 bartenders and a barback. No waitresses. 20-30 minute waits in lines 5-10 deep to get a drink. Terribly under staffed.....so much so that we will NOT be back. If you do not have the staff to open a bar.....do not open. People were leaving because they could not get a drink......stood in line 25 minutes just to close our tab. NO THANKS. Figure it out or sell it to someone who knows how to run a bar. read more

Just left there. Ordered a "High Fashioned". Menu said it was a Tito's drink but the bartender was using Taaka $5 a bottle vodka. If you're gonna use crap house vodka and charge a premium price than don't make the drink right in front of the person so they can see the bottle you are using. read more

This is a beautiful space that makes you feel right at home. Smells nice in there. Restroom was nice and well kept too. We went yesterday, Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of parking. It wasn't too busy, so we didn't have to worry about crowds. Even if it was, there is plenty of seating inside. Very open space. The cocktails were delicious! The bartender recommended the lavender lemon drop when I asked for something sweeter, and I thought it was delicious! My husband had the Bourbon and Branch, which is their take on an old fashioned. Really enjoy this neighborhood bar and the drinks are delicious. I do not like that the bathrooms are right in the middle of the bar and the doors are always wide open. It is kind of gross. It won't stop me from going back, but owners should look into building a wall to separate the bathrooms from the bar. read more
