Nice spot and really good drinks and not too over priced. Would def go again if this spot were closer.

Former Patron of Main Street Bar.

The assistant manager/bartender, Reed listens in on the bar talk and if he disapproves of a patron's conversation, he will ask you to leave. He seems to forget his place as a server. I don't know about you but it kind of muddies the waters to interject your personal opinion on private conversations. As a bartender, he is to remain neutral and has no place moderating bar talk. If you patronize this place, be prepared to be censored and be prepared to be treated like dirt, where the help acts like they are doing you a fucking favor.

Friendly staff. Great prices. If you're hungry they also offer a great tasteful selection of fried bar foods. It's no restaurant, but that's not the point. But if you want entertainment, you definitely need to stop in. Come as a stranger and leave as a member of your family. A great neighborhood hangout.

Hidden secret. Great pub food, exceptional good-hearted service, fantastic prices, if you don't come here you should ask yourself why not. Did I mention they have Yueng Ling on draft? I'm not special, but I don't review often unless the place is worth it, do as you please.

Great drinks! The bartender made me a drink to my liking when they didn't have what I originally wanted. Chill vibe,

I had driven by Main Street Bar plenty of times, and it seemed small.. run down...almost too divey if that's a thing. Or more like it just wouldn't be my cup of tea. Boy.. was I wrong. It's a nice, quaint, neighborhood bar, that definitely needs to be judged once inside. The bartenders are prompt and super friendly. The inside of the bar has about 10-15 tables, and then stools around the bar. There is a nice large patio as well. They do offer bar food, which I did not try. There was a shuffle board table inside as well, and plenty of TVs. They have been around for like 30 years! They did have house infused liquors as well, but I just went with my usual, and ordered a beer. Which was served to me in a koozie! Whoa. You just won my heart, Main Street Bar! We came in on a Saturday night, they were going to have a band, and my MIL was looking for some good live music. The band had a nice little set up, there is a small stage where they preform. I am under the impression there is live music every Saturday, different bands. It was definitely busy for a Saturday night, but not too packed, still enjoyable. Definitely a dive bar. Different specials offered each day! And a comedy night!

This was a good little bar to finish of the night at. The crowd was thin and they had two bartenders that made sure you always had a cold beer in front of you. They also have an electronic jukebox that you can download the app for and control it from your phone. They also have cool coasters they put on your beer. Good place to finish out the night or just go and chill.

Do not let the quaint location of this place fool you. It's been around for many years and has quite the following. Word of mouth and hopefully my review will bring this place out! We went on a Sunday. They have happy hour all day. Different rules for different days. Food is limited to fried mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, fried chicken strips, French fries etc. One is allowed to bring your own food if you want. The noise level was very acceptable. Service impeccable, thanks to Sierra, the bar manager. My cosmos were very well done. Friendly patrons. Nice patio, except for the 102^ which made it unacceptable for me, since I don't handle the heat very well at all, with no fault to the bar! Definitively a place ( 3.5 miles from my house) I would return to, very soon....!

This review is for other bands that might be thinking about playing at this venue. Directions: Finding the place is pretty simple. Directions on the web appear to be accurate. It's located in the angle of the Downtown Wetmore Shopping Center. Load-In: Load-in is average to convenient, depending on how close you can park. You don't load in through the front door. There is a side door right by the stage. Use this. If you're lucky, there will be an open parking space right by the stage door and you'll only have about a 10-foot carry. At worst, you can park parallel to the Family Dentistry building in the middle of the shopping center. As long as you have some sort of wheeled conveyance for your heavier gear, this isn't a very long carry. Note that there is a ramp to the left of the wheelchair parking space to facilitate getting your gear over the curb. If you park in the wheelchair space, you'll be right in front of the door to the stage. Stage: The stage is on the small side. A trio should fit okay, and even a four-piece could make it work, but you will probably not be able to keep your entire PA on the stage. We ended up putting the stage left column on the far side of the stage door and the stage right column around the corner from the bathroom. This means that you will need to make some sort of provision to allow people to walk over or under your speaker cables. On the stage right side, we were able to toss our speaker cable over the top of the bathroom wall and have it come down behind the PA column. In front of the stage door we used a floor cable protector, firmly taped to the floor. The stage is well made, about a foot high and obviously built by someone who knew what they were doing. We found no soft spots, trip hazards or vicious resonances. Note that there are only four electrical receptacles: two on the wall in the middle of the stage and two on wall at stage left. This means you can only plug in a total of four cords. Lighting: The venue does have some stage lights, but you'll want to use your own since you have no control over the venue's lights and they're not very effective. Sound System: The club does not have its own sound system. Acoustics are about average. We noticed no serious echo or feedback issues. There were no problematic room resonances. Layout: The club is basically a standard rectangular room. Wisely, the stage does not face the bar, which is placed to stage right. This means your sound is traveling parallel to the bar and that helps with volume. One distracting aspect of the room layout is that the men's bathroom is immediately to stage right. This is distracting, but you can get used to it. Volume: We were able to bring our volume up to what we considered a comfortable level for a classic rock band with no issues. Comfort: We played here in July and the air conditioning was excellent. Very comfortable environment. Parking: Be aware that there is no tandem parking in this parking lot. If you have a trailer, you will need to park horizontally across multiple parking spaces. Miscellaneous: We attempted to do a Facebook live broadcast from this location but were unable to maintain an Internet connection. We had similar issues when one of our crew attempted to connect his laptop remotely to his place of employment. I suspect there is some sort of interference here. I don't think it has anything to do with the venue itself and it may just be a temporary problem. Venue Management: Pleasant and easy to work with. Overall: Main Street Bar is practically a San Antonio institution and one of our favorite places to play. The clientele is well behaved, enthusiastic and loves to rock out. We look forward to our next gig here.

I will say the GPS got a little confused in the route for some reason and I nearly missed an exit and even the entrance (there was some construction going on) There is plenty of parking, but the parking lot was pretty full. Shortly after, the original DoorDash order was delivered, but I immediately noticed that one pizza was missing. I contacted the restaurant again to explain the situation and for them to cancel the new order, and Roni advised me that, due to all the inconvenience and confusion, they would remake all three pizzas as a customer service gesture and for me to pick it up. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, I was then informed that management would only approve replacing the original missing cheese pizza. I expressed my disappointment because I had already gone out of my way to drive to the restaurant after being told all three pizzas would be remade. What is most disappointing is the lack of accountability and follow-through from management regarding what was communicated to me. I ended up wasting additional time and effort coming to pick up an order that should have either been handled properly the first time or re-delivered due to the issues caused throughout the process.
