    Poker nights!

Love it here! The bartender Bella is so attentive and friendly, and really added to the over-all vibes of the place.

this is the front bar and on the side you have more sitting areas in the back patio is a great chill spot. It has TVs, heaters, and ashtrays Also, it comes with games in the far left corner. Would recommend the wings, the burgers, the mozzarella sticks everything is fire. and green tea shots were great, Michelada are great! Can never go wrong with nice kitchen, staff and bartenders.

Taylor is awesome!!! Need I say more? Ok, I will..... We had a girls day out & after lunch we ended up at the Hangar. From the moment we walked in we felt comfortable. Taylor welcomed us & was ready to help us figure out what we wanted. I had literally NO idea but Taylor suggested the Pina Bullada. It came in a huge mason jar & it was yummmmy! I was really tired AND I love Pina Coladas so she hit the "Bullseye" w this suggestion! Ha! I don't drink beer but my friend does & she loves the draft beers they have. I think her fav was Karbach Oktoberfest blonde beer... This place really is great. I think that the creative concoctions that they serve in Mason Jars & unique shots are an added bonus to an already fun place w a cool vibe. Drink prices aren't overpriced & apparently if Taylor is your bartender you will have the best visit! I'm not a fan of bars BUT I'd go back to this one! The restrooms are clean, tables, bars & floors were all very clean. Some bars just feel dirty. I think the Hangar would pass a white glove inspection. There is a large patio outside too! We just never left the bar area bc Taylor was so great... They have food too! I didn't order anything but my friend ordered nachos & said they were great. Sorry! They were devoured before I thought to snap a photo.... I blame the Blue Balls. (A really good shot ) There is a jukebox that you can play music from an app on your phone on & there are plenty of TVs to watch sports on. Final Thought.... Check out the Hangar Pub on Nacogdoches. I hope Taylor is there! Tell her Melissa sent you to get a Pina Bullada & some Blue Balls! You won't regret it! Thank you Taylor for making our very random Girls Day Out turn into an all evening BLAST! You are the BEST!!!

Sitting outside because the inside was gross

the food really dropped in quality the other day. I was there in the morning, and the main chef was hopped up on cocaine. Then I spoke to somebody else who told me they got raw wings. This place used to be really they took all of the good dishes off the menu and switch the burger to a Smashburger when they used to quarter pounders and now all the chef does is take shots behind the bar with customers and does cocaine in the restroom and in his car plus spends all his time talking to people at the bar instead of cooking good food and he's probably the only half decent cook they have which is sad because I used to love this place and now every time. The other time I went there was at night and I got cold food and it was just terrible. but three years ago, this used to be a good place a spot that I used to recommend for the wings and the burgers but as a I can no longer consciously recommend this place to anyone the place has just turned into a place for cocaine addicts and alcoholics no longer has good food and atmosphere. It's truly a pity.

Windows at Hangar Bar, Saturday 1:15pm, August 12, 2023

Visited Hangar Bar for first time. We decided to come here because of the food reviews. Much to our surprise, upon entering the building the windows were filthy. Usually that would detour us but decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt. We sat at the bar ( Saturday, August 12, 2023) They opened at noon so when we arrived it was approximately 1:15 to 1:30pm The entire place only had 2 people in there when we arrived. The bartender was very nice and greeted us . We like really cold beer( didn't see any reviews on how cold the beer was) so decided to order draught. Beer was ok. It's not cold as some other establishments around SA, but was doable. Bartender noticed we were looking at the menu and asked if we wanted to order..I did. I ordered the fried pickles and Franks hot sauce wings- which by the way neither disappointed. During munching, the bartenders favorite song came over their system and without asking the customers, cranked it up so loud! You could not hear your partner next to you talk. The bartender came over and what we thought she was saying was to ask us if we needed anything else, we asked her to repeat herself because we couldn't hear her. Then, she couldn't even hear our answer but knew what we were saying. Our food was good, customer service was good. Only thing is: Clean up the windows upon opening and respect the customers in terms of cranking up the tunes.

Update to first review below, rating updated from a 3 to a 5 star (drinks & bartender would get 10+…read morestars if we could rate that high): Saturday night: Went back for after dinner drinks at the Downstairs (a "speakeasy" throwback, look up the history of the place to see why). Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)

However, if you come in from the street, you need to walk to the other side of the restaurant to get a table.. We ordered a limonada with prickly pear, fried quail, lamb burger, and bison burger. The burgers were quite big and taste really good but the bison burger meat kind of fell apart too easily. The ricotta cheese on the lamb burger was quite strong. They came with a few spicy pickled veggies as a side. The limonada was as expected . I highly recommend a fried quails legs. We enjoy eating quails, but it's usually bittersweet relationship because of all the small bones however their appetizer for fried quail legs is super user-friendly. If you are scared of choking on small bones, these will not give you that kind of worry at all. We were impressed on how well-made and easily eaten they were. Our waiter was very friendly and he checked on us a few times. He was also the one that suggested the fried quail legs. We walked here .

The place was located in a small plaza off the side of some main roads, and we gathered for a class team building event. By that I mean beer and burgers. There's plenty of seating and every night has something else to offer. I enjoyed the breakfast burger which was delicious. I liked the quality of the bread and the contrast of a well-seasoned patty. The fried egg was prepared beautifully, and the yolk covered the fries waiting below on the tray. The place is military friendly in terms of the bill and our sever, Rebecca, was not only fast and friendly but very welcoming and knowledgeable. Some folks decided to try their hand at Karaoke and had the stage to themselves. I liked that the TVs also had the lyrics up so that you could sing along without having to turn to face the stage. We arrived at 12:45, and by 3:00 p.m. only about half of our group had received their food. While the servers themselves were polite and professional, this issue falls squarely on management and whoever approved the reservation knowing they could not reasonably accommodate it. To make matters worse, the food was overpriced and similar to food court food. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this restaurant. If I were the manager I would've comped the whole party. This is not a way to run a business!

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate.
