Beer

We stopped in for a pint after dinner. Great location and friendly service. And the Guinness is good. Would really like to try some food on our next visit. The party is the place to be with foot traffic on the Riverwalk. Awesome place

Love this place! Great Irish bar. I always visit here whenever I'm in San Antonio. Take a stroll on the Riverwalk and you'll find it. They have table seating, or you can take a seat at the bar. They have Guinness on tap, and know how to pour a proper pint. Their fish and chips dinner is excellent. They often have live music to entertain you during your visit. Bartenders and servers are friendly and fun.

We had great service and just dropped in for a beer as they have Harp on tap. Good place to catch a game although it can get loud.

The food is awesome ... and a lot! Texas size plates! Nice ambiance, nice music, awesome customer service! Highly recommend this place! And the beer is awesome too!

Frozen Irish coffee

Came across this neat place while walking the river walk. It was a hot day (90+ end of Oct) so the frozen drink got me interested. We never went inside but found a table on the patio. Great view to people watch while we sat and cooled off. The service is pretty good but hard to judge since it was afternoon and the place was only 1/4 full. I ordered the frozen Irish coffee and my wife had a soda. At almost $14 for the drink I was a little surprised that it was so small. However, it was tasty and the service was good.

Frozen Irish margarita made with Jamison

The drinks were very touristy prices which I should've expected, but it was a nice little oasis when everything was closing down at 11 other reviews say the food is good, but I just had a Jamison frozen margarita which when it was hot as the devil's balls came in handy to cool me down. Seems like there was a bunch of locals in their service industry people getting off after work and wanting a nice cold Guinness, the vibe was laid-back. They had live music and everybody was just kind of chilling, enjoying their night a lot less chaotic than the other more popular bars. I'd recommend swinging in if you're in San Antonio.

Excellent Irish restaurant on the river walk. Lots of great choices on the menu. Inside and outside dining with a huge beautiful bar. The food is fresh and full of flavor.

I absolutely LOVE this Irish Pub!! It's sooooo clean and organized! I have a weird goal of trying grilled cheeses all over the U.S, and I tried the kids... it was superb! Our workers were niece, friendly, and attentive to anything we asked. If you like food of a good variet, then you should come here.

Pot of Gold

4 of us went there on Valentine's Day. The service was very good, the food was very good and I would say this is one of the hidden gems on the River Walk. I ordered a Pot of Gold to drink. Very refreshing and delicious. For my meal I ordered the Fish and Chips. It came with 3 big pieces of delicious and light fish, the Chips were good and tasty. My wife ordered the Guinness Beer Stew, oyr friends ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and Shepherds Pie, everyone enjoyed their dinner and drinks and the staff was attentive.

Old ranch that might kill you

Ordered some potato skins with a ranch. Tiny skins. Ranch was just old or bad!!! Looked horrible. Skins had no bacon. Small skins!!!! Told him there was no bacon. The server looked at me and said do you want me to order you a different one more like it was something I had to decide. Right then my top was decided. No he did not get me another order. Been here probably 8'times before. Wow it was bad.

Amazing service. Shaner was the greatest server ever. Remade drinks bc my sister didn't like it. Super patient and kind. I had a great experience here. Would totally come again because of the drinks, environment, and shaner.

Stopped in because all the other restaurants on the Riverwalk were at least an hour wait and so glad we did.

Three large pieces of perfectly beer battered fish with house made fries, a hefty portion to leave you full and happy. The lighting there isn't the best, so the pictures don't do it justice. They even have the traditional malt vinegar if you ask for it. It comes with homemade tartar sauce and some lemon wedges (I always ask for extra) Other great things we've tried include the sausage sandwich, the breakfast, the cottage pie, bangers and mash, curry and chips, Reuben egg rolls, and the steak! Yes, the steak! It was surprisingly good, but everything is good here. They even have HH specials on Fridays until 6. Fish and chips are buy 1 get one 1/2 off on Tuesdays. They also have live music - check their schedule. Parking is a bit awkward but we've never been unable to find any. Service is always great.

The curry french fries were okay ... not a huge fan of their curry sauce. The mule was very good as was the raspberry beer. The plates however were a different story. Every plate was cold .. not just not warm .. they were cold like sitting out on a counter for an hour cold. The food was bland .. they were out of items (potato pancakes) ... did not tell us .. and subbed without asking. The experience started well but ended poorly.

A live band was playing all the 90s rock classics -- Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots -- giving the whole place an easy, nostalgic energy. Our server, Yella, was a delight. Sweet, attentive, and rocking the plaid skirt uniform like a pro. We ordered their famous fish & chips but opted for mashed potatoes instead of fries. The potatoes were on the chunky side and a bit light on seasoning, but the fish more than made up for it. Crispy golden coating, flaky interior, and a portion size big enough for both of us to share. Truly excellent -- we'd definitely order it again. Mad Dogs hits that sweet spot of good food, great music, and a fun Riverwalk location. We'd happily return.

The place was located in a small plaza off the side of some main roads, and we gathered for a class team building event. By that I mean beer and burgers. The entrance beckons you to come on in, what with its neon sign and all. The walk up feels rustic, and the door makes it official: you're entering an awesome place. There's plenty of seating and every night has something else to offer. I enjoyed the breakfast burger which was delicious. I liked the quality of the bread and the contrast of a well-seasoned patty. The fried egg was prepared beautifully, and the yolk covered the fries waiting below on the tray. The place is military friendly in terms of the bill and our sever, Rebecca, was not only fast and friendly but very welcoming and knowledgeable. Some folks decided to try their hand at Karaoke and had the stage to themselves. I liked that the TVs also had the lyrics up so that you could sing along without having to turn to face the stage. All in all it was a great place to grab a bite and build rapport with colleagues.

We arrived at 12:45, and by 3:00 p.m. only about half of our group had received their food. While the servers themselves were polite and professional, this issue falls squarely on management and whoever approved the reservation knowing they could not reasonably accommodate it. To make matters worse, the food was overpriced and similar to food court food. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this restaurant. If I were the manager I would've comped the whole party. This is not a way to run a business!
