Looking for a place open late night I came across THG and it was a nice surprise. As you walk in you'll notice a large neon sign that you follow the path to the bar in the back. They have a really nice modern looking outdoor patio but also have an enclosed inside bar if it gets too hot outside. It has a modern feel in a small town. We were going to try this place out last weekend however, upon arriving, we noticed how unkept it was. I thought it was cute and that the name really fit the spot because it is absolutely hidden. However, we parked and were about to approach the bar and decided to go elsewhere because of how the upkeep of this place was. The sitting areas were completely outdated and dirty . The entire scene just felt so neglected . And the sad thing is that it has so much potential but it just felt dirty and neglected so we didn't even try it out. I would highly recommend for whoever is managing this cute spot, does some upgrading on the exterior and I bet you will have a lot more customers. read more

A small little indoor/outdoor local area bar. We stopped by on our way back from Austin. We had seen it online and wanted to check it out. It was a Sunday and there was no football on the screens. Asked to have the TVs changed but they couldn't since the manager wasn't on-site. It was fairly small. On social media it looked a lot bigger than it was. There was seating outside on high stools as well as chairs. The bar inside served your draft beers and cocktails. There are no food trucks or food options but there is a bbq place right next door. Glad we stopped on the way home rather than driving out from SA. I would visit if I lived in the area for drinks. It is also kid friendly. read more

Located off Main Street in Schertz, TX. Very relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful outdoor patio with a big screen TV to watch sports, giant connect 4, pool table and soccer pool. Small indoor bar and very clean. Madison was excellent and makes an amazing Bloody Maria. Great location to go during a date night or just hang out with a group of friends. We went to downtown Schertz to eat and saw a sign pointing to the back next to the restaurant for The Hidden Grove. We were curious of what that might be. To our surprise it was a bar that has a welcoming outdoor space with big TV's, a friend zone with comfortable sectional cushioned seats, selfie wall with magnetic words, Billard table and more. Something seemed familiar. The old fashioned were the same as the Icehouse and Bar House. We asked if they all share the same owner and we were told yes. We love all three places. The Hidden Grove is less crowded and more quiet. Absolutely love this place. The bartender was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I don't remember her name but she is from San Marcos. read more

Yesterday a couple friends and I found the Hidden Grove. Luckily we also met the bartender named Baker. She let us start off with shots. When we decided to start our evening I could not decide on a drink. Baker asked what I like. I said bourbon/whisky. She asked how I wanted it to taste. I told her slightly sweet. She grabbed a tumbler or shaker thingy. Added parts from three bottles and ice. She shook it, strained it and said try this. Best drink ever. I asked her what it was called so I could order it going forward. She told me the recipe and said it is not a regular drink I could order. Baker made a great drink from scratch and made our evening. Where do I begin? This is a small, but perfect bar in every way. From the close proximity to The Purple Pig during the day and a taco food truck from 8 until late to the creative cocktail options that are incredibly reasonably priced to the super friendly bartenders that provides exceptional customer service, this place checked every box for me and my coworkers who just wanted a chill atmosphere to eat, drink and catch up with one another. There's a pool table available for some competitive play and a few cozy spots to snuggle up if that's the vibe you're going for. I'd imagine they'll be bringing out the patio space heaters once the temps begin to drop because the majority of the space is outdoors. When all is said and done, I'm so glad we opted to try a new location for our small get together, and we will most definitely be bringing the rest of the crew back here in the near future. read more

It's not due to the quality of the "top shelf" tequilas you guys have available. It's because of the quality of service provided by ESMERALDA! She is a true asset to the Hidden Grove. Gr8 to have a place like this in downtown Schertz. Let's hope the development continues, it's amazing to go down Main and see these 3 decent places next to each other. Hidden Grove is low key, has a giant tv outside and lots of outdoor games. Drinks are fine, basic bar beer liquor situation. Lots of places to sit. They have those kerosene heaters if you get cold.
