The bartenders are cool, people are cooler, and the beer is cheap. Come here for a chill spot to listen to some good Tejano jams.

Rock n Roll Dive Bar!…read more Located in Government Hill historic district, across from Fort Sam Houston, formally Betty's Battalion that was here for years and years. Just outside of downtown and only a few blocks from Pearl. Love the crescent booths! Great jukebox! Whole vibe is cool and chill. Great place to meet friends, and hang out. We chatted with co-owner Nathan and had an enjoyable evening. They just open a couple of months ago... We will definitely be back!

We were staying an…read moreairbnb just down Grayson from Slow Ride, so it was the perfect place to stop for a drink and catch up with my brother. The bar really couldn't be cooler. It has the decor and vibes of a midwestern dive bar in the 70s: retro bar furniture, old signs, neon, and wood paneling. They have a simple but perfect bar menu: beers, classic cocktails, and a couple of wines. I had a martini; my brother had a daquiri; and my husband had a couple of Lone Stars. The service good. The drinks were good. The vibes were perfect (they even had Selena playing on the TV over the bar - which made me feel right at home). I don't want to sound 100, but the DJ was way too loud for me on a Friday night (we couldn't hear each other talk),but otherwise the bar was the perfect place for Friday night drinks. Slow Ride offers a dive-ish alternative to the more polished, fancy places just down the road at the Pearl. If you're looking for something with lots of character, Slow Ride might be perfect.

My girlfriend and I had always heard about this place but finally decided to try it out one…read moreevening. This is our list of things we pay attention to at a venue and Zombies passed with flying colors: Vibe- from bouncer to bartenders (the main couple bartending are the owners) everyone is super friendly and welcoming and always acknowledges everybody Menu- digital menu accessed by a QR Code on the bar opens to a site full of great house drinks with a description of what they entail; really great prices and makes it a place we love to get drinks from and try new things Recreation- Pool, Punching Bag, Air Hockey ($1 per game quarters only) as well as Darts for free Cleanliness- bathrooms are scary at first due to the painted hands on the walls but are cleaner than your standard bar Misc. - Temperature is great, I get hot and she gets cold easy but we were well balanced throughout the night -Safety is a priority and the setup attracts people who all seem to be very chill and friendly -Owners opened up a neighboring smoke shop that has GREAT prices and we're always sure to stop by for a preroll or whatever else we're craving that night Last but not least, it's a Karaoke Bar, starting at 930 every open night, we LOVE to watch people go up and try their vocal cords out at a song they know every word to, and there's always a great response no matter how the performance went. 10/10 would recommend Zombies to anyone that asked

Let me set the scene. My wife and I, a couple of desert dwellers from the Coachella Valley, were…read moreexploring the beautiful city of San Antonio. The Texas sun, however, was doing its absolute best impression of the surface of a star that day, and we were desperately seeking an oasis of air conditioning and fine spirits. We stumbled upon your establishment, and I'm now convinced it was less of a coincidence and more of a divine, thirst-quenching intervention. The positive experience started before we even breached the doorway. The security guard out front wasn't just a guard; he was more like a friendly ambassador to a better, cooler dimension. He greeted us with a genuine smile, not the usual stony-faced glare that makes you nervously try to recall if you've done anything illegal in the last 48 hours. As we stepped inside, we were greeted by the owner herself as she was on her way out. She actually stopped, smiled, and welcomed us in. In this day and age, it's not every day the head honcho takes a second to greet a couple of random, heat-stroked travelers. That single, classy gesture told us everything we needed to know. And we were right. The inside is impeccable. It's the kind of place that makes you feel a little more sophisticated just by being there. The bar staff are basically wizards; true alchemists of alcohol who are not only incredibly friendly but are clearly masters of their craft, slinging drinks with an effortless cool. Now, let's talk about the main event. As someone sitting here back in the Coachella Valley, I am practically weeping with jealousy. I wish we had bars like this! The fact that I have to get on a plane for this kind of experience feels like a crime against humanity. Do yourself a favor and order the Deep Eddie Pineapple. Don't ask questions, just trust me. It's like a tropical vacation in a glass, and it might just change your outlook on life. You'll want to send me a thank you card later. Don't. Just buy another one and toast to my excellent advice. A huge thank you to Morgan and the entire team for a truly memorable night. You didn't just give us a drink; you gave us a highlight of our trip and a fantastic story to tell!

After that terrible experience I went to the bar and was ignored for a long time. I eventually got the bartenders attention only after I was on my phone for a long time. She asked if I had been recording her. Very strange. I don't understand what is happening here. I just know it is very strange smelling and strange service. I will not return.
