One of the best spots in town. I love a spot where people have eachother's back and bring home made food often. The people here make you feel at home. I have been able to get Steve and a Kj to sing some weird stuff with me ha. No fear here! This is a place to go if you like dive bars with great drinks and areas to disappear to if you want to vape. Ask for Marla or Vicki, they will make you smile even on your roughest days. They are very serious here about their darts and karaoke. There is also a couple of pool tables. I was here at this bar and MARLA belittled me and cut me off for no reason. I only had 2 drinks but she cut me off for some reason she apparently has problems with a lot of people so if you come here don't come in when she works. She will not serve you or treat you right when you're looking for a place of solidarity. Everyone else will, but with her I wouldn't even bother. read more

I was invited to Sir Winston's last night and I'm so happy that I accepted the invitation. I had an absolutely amazing time. This place has a friendly and welcoming environment. It seems that most of the patrons are regulars because everyone knew each other. I've never met so many amazing people at once. I love that people came and conversed with me about topics that I care about and most people are afraid to discuss. My face and ears still hurting from laughing so much. Also, people I've never met bought me drinks and just made my night out so great. Again, the people I met were absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go again. What was it about this place that made me feel like I was in the right place at the at wrong time. Like I should have been here in my 20s and not as a geriatric 39 year old who can barely drink beer because his pancreas is ruined after years of hard partying. We walked in and the first thing I noticed was the dank smell, the second thing I noticed was the karaoke going on with a mediocre singer belting out an old country song. Literally the first thought in my mind was, "I bet the Christmas party at this place is LIT!!" To many people this place may be uninviting or off kilter, but I instantly felt comfortable. Apparently my comfort zone is in dark, sorta stinky, outdated places. It's where I thrive, okay?! We find a place and sit at a table right in front of the stage. I go to the bar and I order 3 drinks. One for me, one for the dude and one for a friend who has joined us for the evening. Great prices and the Bartender, I don't think, had ever made a Ranch Water, told me that he hoped he made it right then said, "wait" he grabbed the bottle of tequila and topped off my drink and said "there, that should fix anything I did wrong" I love it. It was a good drink, not gonna lie. Unfortunately, the people I was with wanted to leave so we were here only a short time. But I wanted to mingle with the local folk and talk about days and times long gone, big hair and rock music. Because, while I know nothing about any of the prior stated, I do know that people here would be able to talk about it longingly and I would heartily laugh along like we were old friends. Such a fun place! I was visiting friends in San Antonio and they have become regular patron at Sir Winston's--after a single visit, I see why! The ambiance is very typical of a dive bar, so don't expect anything fancy. However, the drinks were great (we got a Cuba Libre, a cosmo, and two Russian Whites) and literally the cheapest bar tab I've ever paid (I actually had to double check they hadn't forgotten to charge me for anything). I mean, coming from Washington DC, almost any bar would be cheap, but seriously, you could go HARD on drinks here and barely bat an eye at the bill. The bartenders were great and efficient. The real selling points though were the (daily!) karaoke and the people. The karaoke was so fun, genuinely a mix of all talent levels, so everyone could get up there with confidence. I only did one duet since I was still a bit nervous, but my friends each sang a couple songs throughout the evening and I loved seeing everyone else in the bar try their hands at it too. The bar is actually really awesome but the karaoke coordinator is an absolute douche bag. He plays a political game that never ends. Such an unfair process. I'm not big on dive bars - but this place wasn't bad! It's located in a strip mall and looks kind of weird on the outside, but the inside was cozy! Cheap drinks, big jenga, shuffleboard, pool, karaoke (incredibly entertaining BTDUBS), and all around a good place to kick back. I went for a friend's birthday and everyone had a great time. I don't quite understand how this is a Sir Winston Churchill themed bar. They don't have any British flags, British beers, snooker games, or cigars. The beer wasn't even warm! It was ice cold. The bartender didn't even find my Sir Winston quotes to be insightful, "I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly." -Sir Winston Churchill It's nice that they've got a full bar: beer, wine, liquor, jello shots. Free popcorn is nice too- they pop it nightly, so it's not sitting out for days. It's a good bar food. They have jello shots for $1 every. single. night. God Save the Queen! The coolest thing about this bar? The darts machine. It's straight from Japan, and has all kinds of musical tunes it plays, lights that glow like a Christmas tree, and weird games that you've never heard of before. I have to agree with the other reviewers--Sir Winston's is pretty awesome. We had a great time hanging out in a bar where you can actually hear the conversation you're having. We were at Sir Winston's along with a handful of other patrons that were playing pool or just hanging out. From what I saw the pool and jukebox weren't free, but the shuffleboard and darts are. Draft pints of DosXX are $3.00--very nice. Sir Winston's downfall, like most San Antonio bars, is the indoor smoking. If only SA would pass a friggin smoking ban already. Until then, be sure to save some time before you go to sleep for a shower. read more

Great little watering hole with a big attitude! This place doesn't look like much from the outside but has everything you love in a bar on the inside! Cheap drinks (they even have pabst on tap), shuffleboard, Internet jukebox, a nice lounge area with comfy couches, tons of tvs, friendly bar staff, multiple restrooms, homemade pizza, and even a public computer! Whether you're just stopping in alone for a quick pint or meeting a large group of friends for shuffleboard championship sir winstons always greets you with open arms. My brother and I walked into this bar last night, 12/8/17. We walked straight to the pool table. We were so busy talking, we didn't notice we were there for almost 15 minutes without being served. Oh well, I went to the bar and ordered 2 beers, and went back to the table. Se delivered the beers. 2 small aluminum bottles. I told her we wanted the long neck bottles. She said the "factory" ran out of the long necks and "it was either those or nothing". I told my brother about it, then we noticed she was serving long necks to other customers. So, now I'm wondering why she lied like that. Was there racism involved (we're hispanic, the majority there is caucasian)??? Or the other option, shitty service by a lying bartendress. As an example I stood at the bar for about 4 minutes while the lone female bartender stood at the back of the bar on her cell phone either messaging or on facebook or who knows but I think servicing customers takes priority over personal cell use. First time here, and the bar had great laid back atmosphere. Friendly staff and people. They have good drink specials, serve food (with free popcorn and I believe it was nachos as well they had The a Friday I went). They have a patio as well with a tv outside however it is enclosed all around. They have pool, darts, shuffle board, jenga, and computer where you can play games. I did not get on the computers so I'm not sure what kind of games it had. Overall it was a great time, we had fun, and a great place to go for Karaoke for sure! read more

It seems like bars and strip malls go together like hops and grains......at least here in San Antonio. One of my favorite strip bar is Sir Winston's. The drinks are stiff, free pouring is always a plus, and the regulars are friendly. They have popcorn for munching and pizza for the really hungry or drunk patrons. A couple of strategically located tvs. This is my go to place for nights that I want to start off at or I end up at. Also, this is one place that doesn't have a high turnover rate, as far as fellow drinkers. Oh and they now have karaoke on Tuesday night. read more

Oh man, I love this place! It's usually pretty empty but even when it's busy, it's not overwhelmingly so. They have free shuffleboard, free popcorn and a pretty good jukebox.
