This is a great spot. Attended a large retirement party and this spot was perfect! Massive outdoor area with fire pits. Nice bar, they had food outside in food truck style. Fire outs and plenty of seating. Smaller area inside but still very nice and quick service. Lots of parking out front Good place to stop in while wandering around the historic area. We were here for a baby shower and it was the best one I have ever been to. The bar staff were great, they were slinging drinks quick! And they were so nice too. I love all the specials they had going on, which were posted don the chalk wall behind the bar. Btw there is a thing called train shots, every time the train passes they do $2 shots. The back patio was fantastic! Plenty of room with lots of tables and a stage for live music. Kids are allowed till 8. So it was great to see them all running around. Came here on a Saturday for a group event. The y have tons of outdoor space and live music playing at certain points of the night. Food truck is situated in the back and it varies by day. There was a chicken food truck the day we went. Had nice chicken sandwiches but a bit pricey ~$14-15 a sandwich. Lines can get pretty long at the bar so get in while you can. Lot of their cocktails were fruit based. I got the blueberry bourbon lemonade and blueberry Moscow mule. They were ok. Lemonade was a little too sweet. The mule was a bit too gingery. Venue looked great. Products were ok prompting the 3 star rating. read more

It was really pretty good. My BF took me here on a Friday night as a date. The beer was great, I wish I could remember what he ordered for me. We had BBQ from one of the food trucks that was delicious. There was a local band playing while we were there, at least they sounded like a local band. They say it is family friendly until 9pm, but I think I would leave the children at home and just go for a good time. If the weather is nice the outdoor seating area is awesome. After a couple glasses of wine at a local wine and ale spot, my friends and I decided to pop over to the ice house for a more casual and fun atmosphere. There was live music and a decent sized crowd so we figured this could be a good place to try! We were a bit disappointed when we realized there was only one food truck with a menu that didn't look overly appetizing. Regardless, we figured we'd grab a drink and figure out the food situation later. We all decided to go to the restroom and then get drinks. Much to our surprise, there was a couple doing the nasty in the women's restroom and causing quite a scene. I didn't plan on seeing two naked individuals while at an ice house... made me second guess the establishment and the customer base it brought in. Despite better judgement, we grabbed a drink and sat down for a short time. The bartenders were very friendly, the drinks were decent and the live music was good as well but overall this seemed like a place for a rowdier crowd... not us. One drink here was enough for us and we went back to the wine and ale house where it had a bit more of a mature crowd. I'd give this place another chance, but would still probably keep it as a quick stop and not a place to spend the entire evening. read more

Where to start... it seems very unassuming on first walk up but this is the type of dive bars I love. Spacious. Big selections. Tons of seating. TV's all around! And most importantly. Cheap Strong Drinks! This place did not disappoint and for the prices I'm used to in Austin it was great to go somewhere and not spend $20 bucks for a double! The Old Main Icehouse is a great place to check out some live music and get some good drinks. They have food trucks in the back and there are some restaurants down the street. I was there on Saturday October 29,2022 to see my favorite party band called Skunkweed. Skunkweed plays live shows at the Old Main Icehouse at least once a year. If you want to hear some fun and very funny music,Skunkweed is a band you should check out. The only reason I can't give the Old Main Icehouse five stars is because of the fact that you can't hear the music very well in the covered area near the main bar. The covered area needs speakers for the band's music to be heard everywhere. At times the bar has been over crowded and it took way too long to get a drink. Most of the time it's okay. The Old Main Icehouse is a place that everyone should check out in my opinion. read more

Really cool ice house in Cibolo that manages to attract some decent live music. They've got a full bar and some decent draft brews - including one of my faves - Thirsty Goat! In addition to the full bar, they have a food truck out in the nice backyard/stage area. The inside of the bar is very open and airy with huge garage door sized openings to let the summer breeze blow through. Here's one of my favorite things about Old Main Icehouse - they have two bar areas open on concert nights. This might seem trivial to some, but I like the fact that if you open a tab at one bar, you are able to use your tab at the other bar. This is convenient in case one of the bars is backed up. But I will give them credit - each bar seemed to serve the drinks quickly. In the backyard concert area, there are plenty of tables and seating, but most of the tables have to be reserved (and paid for) on the nights of concerts. No big deal though. Who wants to sit down during a live music event, right? There's a TON of free parking across the street (but it can fill up at times) and also free street parking available if you don't mind walking a block or two. read more

Went to Old Main Ice House as part of my Leaving-Texas-Temporarily-Epic-Party-Weekend. Our theme, Daisy Dukes and Cowboy boots. This little hidden gem is fun with its rustic interior, open space, outdoor area, AND FOOD TRUCKS! Each weekend night they have a variety of bands play. This night it was Skunkweed and it was crowded as they are a favorite. Seats were at a premium which luckily friends came early and found a spot. We added chairs as they became available. The mood was light, lots of singing and dancing. There is an outdoor bar for mostly beer and simple cocktails. The inside bar is fully stocked and there is a large chalkboard with the specialty drinks. An interesting note, the train goes by periodically and when it does, they have a train special of Kamikaze shots for $2! read more

Old Main House is an absolute monster. You might not think so if you're just passing by, but behind the modest white façade, there is quite a bit of space to behold. The interior is up to date with high ceilings and a long bar, but keep going and the back yard is like a football field full of tables, chairs, and fire pits ending with performance stage along the back. Astroturf blankets the outdoor space. There are oversized chairs and strings of lights. The feeling is cozy despite the grand scale. Be sure to try the pizza truck we found conveniently parked back there. I got the feeling that this place has a steady flow of regulars, but everyone was friendly and the bartender got our cocktails right. It was slow on the night I went, but still very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to giving it a try on a Friday or a Saturday. read more

Interesting story after the Journey music ended last night Saturday, July 20th. I ordered a hotdog from the food truck. When my buzzer went off indicating my food was ready I got up from my table to go pick it up but was met half way there by a young woman who was bringing it to me. I thought that was nice. I then asked her if and where some condiments might be located as I wanted to add some mayo to my hot dog. She then told me I didn't ask for mayo, odd statement I thought. Before I could say another word this man came up to me very irate telling to stop hassling his daughter. Very calmly I stated I'm not hassling anybody and was just asking if there were any condiments available specifically mayo for my hot dog. It was at this point he really got in my face about hassling his daughter. Then some much bigger guy steps in and tells me to just go to my table. Al and Yolanda were standing close to me and Al told the guy to just chill, that I wasn't hassling anybody. I then turned to Al and said let's just sit down and let it go, these people are drunk and just looking for trouble, so we did. I then proceeded to walk into the main building to speak to a manager about my experience who told me they don't have any control over the vendors. We'll see what comes out of this. The No. 1 reason I go to Old Main is their Bloody Mary. It is the ONLY reason actually. I typically find my way over after I've had appetizers and a glass of wine at 1908 Wine & Ale across the street. It's the perfect way to end my evening, enjoying this refreshing yet incredibly spicy drink. I can only drink one through (or an additional half, if my sister in law can't handle the heat!). All in all, it's a chill spot with friendly (enough) bartenders and some type of food truck option most days/nights. Neat place. Bar is large and there are a few tables inside, which is only a downfall when there is inclement weather. There are different games inside and out. And they hold concerts there. Nice place to meet friends or go on a date in Cibolo. Bartenders are nice/quick. There is a food truck but it isn't open all the time. So I haven't tried the food. read more

We visited your location on 10/3/20 and wore our mask as required. The bartender was really rude to us and badgered us about how we wore our mask. My mask was large and was baggy on my face. He yelled at me laughed and rolled his eyes at us acting very unprofessional. After sometime had passed, we went back into the bar and found him behind the bar with no mask. See attached picture! I find it funny that he treated us with no respect, talking down to us but he thinks it's ok to not wear his mask. I walked up and there were horses. Just standing there. This place is about as country as a place can be. That's not necessarily a bad thing or good thing in and of itself, just not my style. There's a plethora of choices for drinks. I didn't think they'd have much in terms of craft beer but I was decently surprised. There are two seating areas, one indoor and one out, with a fair spattering of seats betwixt the two. So whatever you're out for, it's likely you can find it here. Catch a game on the many tvs or a live performance outside on the stage. My main complaint is that there's no wifi. I often like to write in various bars and that wasn't an option here. read more

We celebrated my husbands 38th birthday here. I'm so disappointed in this place. We came with our family, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We went to order drinks and were talking about what we wanted to order, and the manager became enraged and said he's cutting us off. We were shocked. I have a speech impediment and he said we seemed intoxicated. The manager needs to know how to read people and an audience, especially if he is manager. It was embarrassing. read more
