Great place for a girls' luncheon! Located in the nursery and brunch is served till 330pm Wed- Sunday, dinner Wed- Sat 5-9pm. No reservation needed. We were immediately greeted and seated. There's also a nice patio area with a small water feature, but it was a tad hot to sit outside, so we were seated indoors with a nice view. All the servers were very friendly, you can tell they enjoyed their job. I couldn't decide between the BLT or the Farmhouse salad... I asked our server and he immediately answered without hesitation... the BLT!!!!! So that's what I got... I never thought much of a BLT but this one was pretty good. Sourdough bread and aioli with lots of crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Very satisfying. The arugula salad (without cheese) was simple, but had a nice tasty light vinaigrette and pickled onions. Delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was excellent. Tad pricey for brunch, but they do offer military discount : )

Today we had brunch, my husband had steak & eggs while I had the French toast. Hands down the best French toast I've ever had. Thick slices, soft, fluffy, infused with flavor in every bite! Steak & eggs were delicious as well. We love Desert Spoon for the high quality, homemade food, but also for the amazing ambiance and attention to detail. The restaurant and grounds are gorgeous. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is so clean- they sanitize tables and the chairs after every customer. The music playing in background is not overpowering; it's there but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. It's is just a lovely experience every time.

On a beautiful outing to the hill country my friend decided to treat me to a great view. Butterfly gardens, beautiful water fountain, and a plant nursery. Service is fast and welcoming. You get a taste of the true country hospitality. The food authentic and delicious. I had the wild boar pasta and my friend has a snapper dish. I have to say the fish was a bit strong in taste and but the pasta was cooked al dense and boar bolognese was a delicately balanced to layer upon the palates 4 quadrant. The cocktails were good and they made sure they were able to meet our no alcohol drinks request. Over all I would go back if just for the views

A diverse menu (with some great options for sharing!), delicious drinks, and such a beautiful setting with incredible hospitality. For lunch, my all time favorite is the fireside panini (I could eat this everyday), but a close second is the chopped sandwich. For dinner, I loved the red fish, burger, fries, and roasted carrots! There is something for everyone and you cannot go wrong. Not to mention the staff makes you feel like family, remembered my name after meeting me once and made sure we loved everything!

Food was beyond amazing, my co-worker and I were quickly seated and the service was top notch. I enjoyed sitting outside the scenery was a nice touch to a wonderful meal. I would definitely recommend stopping by!

The wife and I met our daughter and fiancé here on a Monday evening for dinner. A new restaurant on the Spring Creek Gardens property. Fun fact... Desert Spoon is not only the name of the restaurant but also a plant native to the Texas Hill Country (who knew?). The decor is an eclectic combination of hill country rock, vertical ship lap wall panels, and ceramic green subway tile on the bar. Of course being a nursery, there are fresh and beautifully arranged flowers on every table. Several tables inside or if you prefer outside under a covered patio area giving the option to enjoy the rare mild spring climate in Texas. Large windows provide a spectacular view of the grounds and sunset. The dining area is really nicely done and very comfortable. The owners Trever and her husband Merritt (two young Aggie entrepreneurs) stopped by the table and chatted with us briefly. Wylie, our waiter and pleasant young man with a southern accent, took our drink order. Old Fashion for me and the 404 (gin or vodka based) cocktail for the wife. The menu is a la carte. Entres can be pared with "sharables" which are sides for the table. I ordered the lamb shank, the wife red fish, daughter 1/2 roasted chicken, and her to be...the smash burger and fries. The meals were delivered to the table in short order and after snaping a few pics for you Yelpers and thanking the good Lord, we partook. We each tried a bit of the other's meal and I must say, the wife scored with the red fish. My lamb shank was a close second. Unfortunately, the carrots were not available so we only ordered the broccoli for the table. I wish we would have ordered two sides but maybe next time. The wife, not a avid seafood person surprised me by ordering the red fish. She enjoyed every bite and I didn't get my usual portion of leftovers when she finishes. Everyone enjoyed the meal and a good time was had by all. My daughters beau picked up the tab so I enjoyed it more than usual. If you are in looking for a spot to treat that special person to a special place, this is it. Bon Appetit Yelpers.

The ambiance is incredible. You have the garden nursery and boutique for a view with amazing cocktails and brunch. A must-do!

Zinnas are Butterfly's favorite. You can get them at the Desert Spoon

The Desert Spoon is a unique and peaceful place to eat. Service A+ BEST BLT Ever! Bring your Green Thumb.

Wow. This place was amazing. Our family enjoyed everything about it. The service was incredible and polite. The decor is stunning with lots of fresh flowers and plants! Most importantly, the food was amazing. We had the Mother's Day brunch pasta with Parmesan, pancetta, and peas, the duck breast with risotto, French toast, and the burger. We loved it all and would definitely come back.

    Caprice avocado toast.

Today we dined at this café and we actually were a little apprehensive because of previous reviews…read more Once we got in, we were immediately told to find a seat anywhere we wanted it and a waitress was there right away to take our drink orders. The place started picking up and getting busy as we were there, but our waitress continued to make eye contact with us and make sure we had what we needed. I ordered the special which was Carne guisado tacos it came with a dessert and tea or coffee and the price was phenomenal. I gave that a shot and my husband ordered the pastrami on toast with fries. Our orders were done quickly and the tacos. The meat inside them was amazing. Melt in your mouth, tender, and not dry at all. The beans were wonderful homemade pinto beans and the rice was a little salty like chicken broth salty but I was thrilled with the meal. The tacos were huge. My husband got the pastrami like I said, and he said this was the best pastrami sandwich he has ever had. That's strong praise from this meat lover. The waitress was slower towards the end of our meal as the place got more packed, but she was still making eye contact with us. We saw that a dessert came with it for free and she quickly got that out to us after we finished our meal. The dessert was basically a small portion of apple cobbler or something like that which was very un impressive. All in all we totally enjoyed our main courses and the waitress was sweet and we would go back there again and again.
