Very cozy, well decorated, quaint little spot. Appears to be family owned/operated and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very welcoming. We sat down and were served complimentary pumpkin cream cheese muffins (very decadent and delicious). The turkey club was massive and served with perfectly seasoned French fries. Greek spinach omelette was just ok but served with home fries that were a hit with the whole table. Overall would dine again for the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, but would try another dish other than the Greek omelette. Would love to try their sweet selections or breakfast sandwiches on the next trip.

Love it for local fresh breakfast. Always greeted upon entry. Cozy seating. The complimentary muffins give a good start especially if hungry. The chicken omelet is the bomb filled with fresh green peppers. The 2 egg sandwich is a good portion.

They don't have any fancy coffee, but it is fine.

Chill and Relax restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Brunch in Olney, MD. Their dining room is not huge but is enough space for chit-chat of 2-4 groups of people. Cute and lovely decoration. Menu has variety selection, but too bad that they don't serve handcraft coffee. The food was nice as the standard, but for me a cozy vibe is make it different. Also the staffs are friendly and helpful. Anyway, the restaurant location seem a little confused, hidden inside narrow corner, free parking spaces are available in front of the restaurant but quite limit.

My husband and I had a lovely breakfast at Scratch Kitchen. The warm and inviting environment made for a very comfortable start to our dining experience. It was nice to hear a bit of Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon" and "La Llorona" playing in the background, blending two cultures in one place. The service was great. The staff treated each guest with kindness, respect, and professionalism. The food was worth the trip. I ordered the Big Scratch Platter with Turkey Bacon and a Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancake. My husband chose the Chicken Fajita Omelet. Everything was flavorful and well-cooked. I'm so glad we stopped by during our trip. We'll definitely remember this place to visit again on our next trip to Maryland.

This is our go-to breakfast place in Olney. The owner greets us every time we come in like family. The food is delicious, hot and fresh. The ricotta pancakes, French toast & pupusas are a must!

I had been so excited to get the chance to finally try this place. It's a quaint cafe so I suggest making a reservation if you decide to check them out. I loved the flavor of the mango iced tea. My potatoes were perfectly crispy. When it comes to the breakfast sandwich it was quite bland and dry, I wish there had been some type of aioli or sauce on it. It came out with a side of ketchup, so I had asked if I could swap it out for barbecue sauce since I don't like ketchup and our server Liz just said "we don't have it". The host/owner was very polite and personable, I feel we would've had a better experience if he was the only staff member who served us. My friend had a crab cake sandwich and she said it was dry. When it was time to pay I had asked Liz if we could do an even split and she says "no, I already printed the separate checks", I understand that it may have been an inconvenience to her, but I just wish she said it in a more polite manner. Overall, it was a very mediocre experience, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Breakfast at the scratch, kitchen is truly a wonderful experience. The pancakes are fluffy. The waffles are delightful and everything that goes along with it is beautifully prepared and very fresh as the name implies it is made from scratch. The restaurant itself is sat in a non-descriptive industrial area in Olney and a little bit difficult to find. But once inside you're treated with fresh ingredients, light and fluffy pancakes and waffles and the fresh stuff ingredients. The staff goes out of their way to make sure all your needs are met.

My cousin and I had a good experience at Scratch! We arrived soon after they opened on a Friday morning and were met with friendly service and good food. The lemon ricotta pancakes were amazing and enough for two people to share. My cousin enjoyed his breakfast, especially the pancakes. Also the orange juice was very fresh :)

This is such a cute place! I went fairly early in the AM so I went straight to the counter to check in. The decor was very cozy and rustic. The owner was friendly and we chatted a bit while I waited for my order. I got the 2 pupusas and they were delicious, especially with the sauce. I also got a breakfast sandwich which was very reasonably priced. It was also tasty, even a couple hours later. I'll be back soon!

Another satisfied and happy group at Scratch Kitchen.

Scratch is a quaint restaurant well hidden in Olney, but it is worth the effort to find it. We are frequent patrons. The food is served fresh, in large portions and delicious. I usually order the breakfast burrito with bacon. But what really keeps my friends and Me returning is the coffee. Seriously great. The staff feels like family now.

The food is good ! The fact they serve breakfast all day is just added bonus . The place however is very small, but comfortable. The service is good .

Sandwich was decent but it could have been better. The price feels right at $7 but there could have been 3 eggs instead of 2? Or maybe an extra sausage for .50 more? Or maybe getting on a croissant instead of brioche will be what it needed? Willing to give it another shot and hope for the best. Service was alright but abrupt as I was placing a Togo order, seemed as though he was in a rush. Place was busy and not a single open table so business is good. I can see why scratch kitchen is popular and I'm going try it out some more.

I specifically asked for the meat to be well done and lean with no fat. The waitress said that wouldn't be a problem, but the sandwich came out not well done, fatty, and pretty tasteless. The horseradish sauce also had almost no flavor whatsoever. I don't even know why they call it horseradish honestly. The au jus seemed weak and watered down too, or maybe just old. Either way, it wasn't good. Overall the meal just felt really off compared to what this restaurant used to be. Maybe it was an off night, I don't know, but it definitely wasn't the experience I expected. Not sure if I'll go back again. Some of the servers are super great, and some are not so much. When a burger without certain ingredients was ordered, one waiter rudely said "then what do you want on the burger" however, the burger still had plenty of ingredients listed, that the person ordering didn't ask to be left off. It's difficult to order a plain burger with the only burger on the menu has bacon and cheese. The food is standard fare. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. The chef pays attention to allergens. I've tried the shrimp roll, the Caesar salad, and the turkey club. All of these can be made gluten free, although the menu doesn't denote it. Another in my party enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the burger. Being inside the Marriott, it is a little overpriced, but the food is good, just hit or miss with service. Great for a quick bite if you're staying in the Marriott.

The hostess seemed to avoid eye contact for about five minutes even though we were standing right in front of her. It felt a little like we had shown up too early for a surprise party that was clearly not for us. Once we were seated, everything improved. Our waitress, Paige, was attentive, thoughtful, and made the experience feel genuinely warm. We started with the mussels, which were exceptional; meaty, creamy, and delicious, with bread good enough to make restraint feel optional. We also had the mini Paloma oyster shooters, which were fun and memorable. I ordered a seasonal cocktail with very little simple syrup, since I usually do not like sweet drinks, and they got it exactly right, which is rarer than it should be. For the main course, we had the seasonal surf and turf special, an 8 oz filet mignon with crab meat over asparagus and succotash. The crust on the steak was excellent, the vegetables were perfectly seasoned, and the filet was cooked exactly as ordered. We finished with their newer take on key lime pie, which was very good and nicely balanced; not too sweet, not too tart. We spent just under $100 per person, so this is not an inexpensive night out. That said, the food quality and service largely justify the price. Overall, aside from the awkward start at the hostess stand, this was an excellent first visit. We spent just under $100 per person, so GrillMarX is not playing in the bargain bin, but the food and service were strong enough that we would absolutely come back

I reached out and was speaking to the back end and was told that they were sorry for the quality and quantity of food and that they would mail me a gift card. I am attaching a photo of receipt of how much we ordered. We ordered a chocolate cake, the photo online showed a massive slice of cake, ours looked as if someone cut half of it off where the cake is supposed to be pointed. $12 for half a cake. My bfs meal was supposed to come with two sides. He ordered mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The mashed potatoes were in with the steak and it was a small portion that looked like a small ice cream scoop, ribeye ($49.00). We did not get the Cole slaw. We ordered a house side salad. It was literally a huge chunk of iceberg lettuce thrown in a bowl with some of the sides. ($14.00) I ordered the steak frites (34.00) the fries were fine, my steak had these weird pieces (see photo) inside, that were veins or ligaments but def not edible and very chewy and gross. I chewed a few pieces and kept having to over chew and then would spit out the pieces because it was rubbery, after the second piece I noticed the texture and then spit it out, then saw whatever it was that was causing the texture and issue. Seeing that immediately made me lose my appetite. So I was left hungry and turned off by my meal and filled up on calamari and fries. I have ordered this before and it usually comes with a nice amount of slices. Mine came with four pieces of sliced steak. We ordered the calamari and had no complaints. The back end comes to my house and drops off a GC of $25.00! Which to me is an insult. For that they can keep their cheap cop out. I will not be back. We spent $134.00 and tipped $19.00 for a take out order. And all they could give us back for a terrible experience and quality of food was $25.00?! Their salad alone was $14. The cake is $12. So basically come back spend more money and we will cover one simple thing but several of your items were sub par and or gross. I would not recommend. This restaurant took a lot of money and did the bare minimum to fix the issue and threw a minimum amount to appease the customer. But didn't mind taking my hard earned money, which I will now spend elsewhere. I also will be mailing back the card. Whoever came to my condo to drop off the gift card came at midnight. Which to me is weird and an odd time to come to someone's house. I have it on security video.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly, welcoming and not pretentious, a mix of couples, families, and groups of friends enjoying a night out. The restaurant was bustling, the bar area was nearly full and while we did have a reservation, it appeared not to be absolutely necessary. Service was friendly, prompt, and informative.    I started with one of their craft cocktails and our server recommended a beer for my friend. The drinks were perfectly refreshing and a good start to our evening. When my friend saw they had oysters, this convinced him we had chosen wisely. We selected a mix of their oyster offerings. They arrived chilled and with just the right amount of condiments making for a tantalizing slurp to start our dinner. For starters, we selected the Brussels Sprouts and the Roasted Beet Carpaccio. The Brussels were perhaps some of the best we've had in quite some time, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The goat cheese on the Beet Carpaccio was very good, but for me, the flavor profile wasn't quite there, it needed a little more acidity. For dinner, my friend selected the Shrimp and Grits, and I chose the Argentinian Steak. While quite good, constructive criticism would be that the vinegar in the chimichurri, smothered an otherwise perfectly cooked, flavorful steak and the rosemary overpowered the roasted potatoes. The grits, while delicious, were almost too creamy rich, but otherwise a delicious blend of sausage and shrimp. For dessert, we shared the Key Lime Pie and the Carrot Cake. The cake was very good, but we weren't fans of the hardened frosting top, and we wished the Key Lime Pie had even more tart, lime flavor.   The portions were plentiful, the price point was reasonable, and all plates were wonderfully presented. The friendly neighborhood environment, atmosphere, and service all enhanced our dining experience. Definitely give them a try, we will return and look forward to it.
