Why have we not been here before? I can't wait to go back! It does get busy but we were seated quickly and chose to be outside. We loved watching the planes take off and land. If you looking for quiet this is not the place. It's not a bad noise and it's fun. We had a great view and were very comfortable. The staff are all professional and nice and the food was excellent. Good size portions. They also bake fresh new goodies on site that they sell. We tried their chocolate and peanut butter cookie which was yummy. We left very full, extremely satisfied and eager to return.

When we first drove up we weren't sure if we were in the right place! It is indeed inside a small airport!! It was a really cool spot. The staff were nice. I can't remember our servers name but he was quirky(we loved his hat!) helpful, and he knew the menu well and was able to answer our questions. The owner stopped by our table with the cafes namesake. Sophie the goldendoodle. He was always aware of where she was to make sure she doesn't disturb anyone. Our table loved her and our chat with the owner. They were also able to accommodate some of our parties dietary restrictions with no fuss The food was really good. I had the Crogel sandwich. It was lovely!! Friends had eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. Poached eggs were more hard boiled but they enjoyed it anyway. I very much enjoyed the cafe and the outdoor seating I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

I wouldn't say this this is Montgomery County's best kept secret because tons of us know about this place, but there are still a lot of people who have no idea that Cafe Sophie is this amazing Scandinavian gem nestled in an tiny airpark. If you have a hankering for some delish breakfast/brunch/lunch vittles than look no further than Sophie's. I had the most amazing french toast here last week. Seriously, I think it may have been the best I've had in my life and I'm an old man. It was a daily special so I'm not sure I'll ever be able to have it again but alas...at least I can say I had it once. The staff here are also amazing. Kind and helpful...what more could you ask for. I really love this place and wish that I didn't love 45 minutes away but in the end, it's always worth it. Try them out...especially for breakfast. You won't be disappointed.

We had an excellent Saturday morning breakfast out on the patio - in addition to the amazing food, there is also lots to see as small planes are constantly coming in and taking off. Despite that, we were still able to converse just fine in normal voices. We were able to enjoy some of the fresh, delicious pastries as well - but don't wait to order! After we finished our breakfast, some of the selections had already sold out. The Pannekaker (think crepes) were delicious - definitely recommend ordering them with fruit. I really enjoyed the Smorbrod open faced roast beef - very hearty and filling, fresh and delicious. I also like that all the coffee and tea here is served in a wide variety of colorful ceramic mugs - the only way to enjoy a hot drink! This is a great spot for families with kids, or for anyone looking for great food and a unique atmosphere!

Still yummy, still warm and hospitable service, and still cozy ambiance. Nom nom nom!

A search for a breakfast spot led a friend and I to Cafe Sophie. We arrived just as they opened on Mother's Day morning and were quickly seated out on the patio. We were able to watch as planes took off and landed as we caught up and enjoyed our breakfast of pannekakers and iced teas. A great spot for watching the planes and enjoying the beauty of this spring morning!

Good food, great service, fun view I got the English breakfast and a cup of tea. The English breakfast was great, but needed a little salt. It made for the perfect English experience.

I wanted to try the crogal to compare it to some of the others I've had. Overall the sandwich was nice but a bit overpriced for that you got. It also didn't have some of the herbs in other crogals I've had. My husband had the pancake and said it was good but very dense. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The decor was a little lacking and the building itself smells very old, but that can't be helped considering the location. Overall I'm happy I went

This has potential and I can see the appeal. It's a cool concept to have a cafe at the small Airpark, where you can eat brunch and watch the airplanes. This experience lost one star for service. We waited several minutes awkwardly at the narrow entrance waiting to be greeted and sat. We ordered water to drink. I was first and asked for water with lemon. She specifically asked if I wanted ice and I said yes. We got four glasses of water, all with no ice. My husband ordered a coffee, which never came. I asked for her opinion on two sandwiches and she said she hadn't tried them. I selected the baguette sandwich. The menu was confusing, because I didn't realize it's prosciutto and jarlsberg or turkey and Brie with lingonberries. Why not just have two separate sandwich listings. Onto the food. I opted for the prosciutto sandwich. It desperately needed some moisture. I added some of my husband's dressed side salad and that improved it greatly. I think it needs a side item too. Half of the sandwich with some sauce plus a cup of fresh fruit would be great. My daughter got a cheeseburger. They were out of cheddar, so we asked what other cheese options and the waitress struggled a little. She opted for provolone. Her burger was tasty but so buttery that she needed extra napkins. My mom selected steak and eggs and my husband got a chicken parm sandwich. Maybe we didn't read it correctly, because it wasn't quite what he expected. It tasted okay. I might go back and sit on the sunny patio and get coffee and simple breakfast.

Both quite true but given I think it had been close to three years since we had been there, it is pretty impressive! I ordered the farmhouse sandwich on a biscuit, it was out of this world good. The potato cake had great flavor but subtle, went perfectly with the egg, savory turkey sausage and just the right amount of sour cream. Man oh man. I don't eat a big breakfast often but this is so good. We brought desserts home, the bread pudding we loved on our previous visit and the tres leches. Both spectacular. I seriously need to make excuses to come out here more often. This is "home cooking" at its finest.

Both were absolutely fantastic. My sandwich was filling, and the homemade turkey sausage was different in a good way. The picture doesn't look super appetizing but I enjoyed it thoroughly. My wife's entree also tasted great from the bite I took. Savory as can be. She also ordered a caramel macchiato which was okay, a little too sweet for her. The standout item for me was the sourdough cinnamon roll. Holy smokes. It was sweet, warm, soft, and slightly sour. So delicious. Other than the food, the inside is pretty cute, and the people working are still some of the nicest with great customer service. My wife made me promise to bring her back soon which I definitely will.

Ava took care of us and she was simply amazing from her demeanor and kindness to her stellar recommendations. We began with their extremely fresh spinach dip that included salsa and sour cream. Absolutely fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I had the rainbow trout with spinach and mashed potatoes. The fish was fresh, light, and tasty. The trout itself was a very generous portion. For dessert, we dove into their Chocolate Uprising: Sort of like a ice cream sandwich on steroids with heavy cream and a chocolate and caramel base. It was fantastic and insane and we just couldn't finish it! I cannot remember having caramel that good (not sweet but rich). The staff is excellent. They work so well in concert from running food to clearing dishes. The bartenders are outstanding. We ordered the Big Eaters Platter, the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, and shared a Nutella Crepe with Strawberries for dessert. The portions were generous, especially the Big Eaters Platter, making it a solid choice if you're coming in hungry. The corned beef hash was decent, and the Nutella crepe with fresh strawberries was a nice sweet finish to the meal. That said, I thought the food was just okay for the price. Nothing we ordered was bad, but nothing really stood out enough to make me want to come back. The quality was solid, but I left feeling like there are better breakfast options in the area for the same price point. If you work nearby or are visiting one of the surrounding medical offices or hospitals, I could definitely see this being a convenient spot for a quick breakfast or lunch. However, as someone visiting the area, I don't think it's a place I'd go out of my way to return to. Overall, friendly service and a clean restaurant helped make for a pleasant experience, but the food didn't quite justify the price. A good neighborhood café if you're close by, but probably not a destination breakfast spot.
