We had a very disappointing experience at this location. From the moment we sat down, our server seemed annoyed and unfriendly. Even simple requests felt like they were an inconvenience. Our drinks took a very long time to arrive. We were later told the bar was backed up, but some of us had only ordered water, so that didn't really explain the delay. It also took quite a while for our server to come back and take our food order. We had already been at the restaurant for over an hour before our food finally arrived. Normally, that's about how long it takes to order, eat, pay, and leave a restaurant. As we were placing our order, the server informed us that several menu items were unavailable, including the kids' chicken tenders and the fried chicken sandwich my husband wanted. It would have been much more helpful if she had told us everything that was unavailable upfront instead of having us order items one by one only to find out they were out, forcing us to keep changing our selections. The food itself was hit or miss. My Korean noodle bowl was flavorful, but the portion size felt small for the price. My husband's burger was ordered medium but came out much closer to well done. By the end of the meal, it was difficult to get our server's attention so we could ask for the check. Between the slow kitchen, poor communication, and inattentive service, the entire experience was frustrating. This was the only restaurant where we could get a reservation for a party of eight on a Saturday night at the time we wanted. After our experience, we understand why. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

Slow!!!! I came alone and sat at the bar thinking I would get quick service. Although the bartender/server was nice, it took a while for her to get my food order, and even longer to bring my food. Maybe she needed a hand. I saw my kale salad sitting in the kitchen for some time before I was able to get her attention and bring to it my order. Salad was light and flavorful. Squash soup was also great. Again, it took time after finishing my meal to get the bill, so I made sure I had my payment ready to hand over right away.

We came for lunch. Unlike some other healthy food places I have been, True Kitchen provided a relaxing environment with a spacious eating area and tables farther apart which was great for conversations. We had Ava, who took great care of us, checking back on us but not interrupting all our talking and catching up. The organic, grass-fed hamburger came with a salad or fries or maybe another healthy option, but I got the fries. We shared a kid's meal blueberry pancake which had some protein, not just flour. The lavender matcha latte was nice, a gentle fruity sweet undertone, not too sweet or too lavender. We were there talking and watercoloring for a few hours, and it wasn't too busy so we felt okay staying so long. True Kitchen made for a really nice place to meet friends to catch up, and we will return.

This is one of my favorite spots for cocktails! And I love that I can come here and know I'm getting high quality farm fresh meals. The ambiance is bright, fresh, and open. The service is also great! I actually come here quite often for cocktails. I love the freshness and quality of their drinks. Even the cocktails that I don't prefer, I like here. They are crafted with quality in mind. Here is a sneak peak into what we ordered: Guac- so fresh and delicious. The best. Love the tomatoes. Not too overpowering at all which is perfect. Chips were thick and crunchy in the best way possible. Edamame dumplings. They were tasty but they looked sparse like they were half eaten but that could be that the plate was too large. Very unique because you don't expect edamame but they are good. It's like dumpling in soup. Seasonal roasted butternut squash pizza. The crust was really really good. But we realized through this experience that butternut squash does not belong on pizza. This was more like a flatbread. No classic red sauce and cheese but it tasted really fresh. Its good, It's just not pizza. The raisins were amazing almost like they made them fresh in the back. This is a solid go-to in my area! Come here if you want a healthy meal!

The waitress was extremely patient with our birthday party for 7. She was super accommodating when folks were confused on what to order. I got the ranchers hash, shakaretto, avocado dip, and Brussels sprouts. Everything ewe pretty good. I liked how the shakaretto was not too sweet. I would definitely go back

Great happy hour! Went for a super quick bite to eat w/ drinks & everything was fantastic. Sat at the bar & it was perfect!

I love true food so much! We went for a little date on a whim and they had a really delightful butternut squash pizza which paired with the hummus was perfect! During happy hour it was under $30 for us so that's always a score these days! The view from the patio is so pretty and the weather was perfect so I'm looking forward to going back!

The food and service were excellent. My friends and I dined here on Saturday night. The weather was just perfect. Our server, Iggy or Izzy, was attentive to our needs, thoughtful with recommendations, and accommodating of our requests, and a joy overall. I ordered the pesto pasta without mushrooms and it tasted absolutely incredible. Fresh, pesto-y goodness. Every single bite I craved more, my appetite unrelenting. The nonalcoholic ginger beverage (the OG) was refreshing, sweet, and amazing. The ambiance was also superb. With views of the lake and the bridge at Rio, outdoor dining is perf. Parking is chaotic but well worth it for this restaurant. Highly recommended! Stop debating, stop reading, and get yourself some True Food Kitchen!

7.1.25 This was my second time dining here but this time through catering. I purchased lunch for a meeting with the leadership team at my office. Because my employer is tax exempt, I was informed that catering orders need to be picked up. Ethan, the manager, was very helpful in ensuring that my order was accurate and timely upon pick up. Because my order consisted of entrées and beverages for eight people, I requested that each item be labeled which they did for me. The only minor hiccup was that one of the orders was labeled incorrectly. I ordered the pesto pasta with antibiotic free chicken. The pasta was tender, the cherry tomatoes were sweet, and the aroma was fragrant. The only complaint I have is that the chicken was slightly overcooked and dry. Also the cardboard container it came in was a bit flimsy, and grease could be seen through the container. Overall, I was pleased with the service that I received and I enjoyed my pasta. My colleagues also enjoyed their lunch as well. Who says healthy food can't taste delicious too?

Steak Frites*, GF including how much gristle I needed to cut off. Order med rare but came out rare.

Group dinner, excellent service, easy to book and fabulous location at the Rio. Appetizers, edemame potstickers were flavorful, yet the spoon it was served with kept falling into the bowl- rethink plating for this. Guacamole was flavorful, yet served with flatbread, no good for the GF folks. Cauliflower app was nicely charted and all liked it. The chicken tenders app which is GF was served with roasted carrots- yummy, but chicken was dry. One person had the chicken parm. Which was the same chicken as the app, covered with red sauce and parm cheese. Chicken was still dry but the topping made it ok. 4 of us chose to have the steak, disappointing for all of us. For a $49 meal, I would expect a good tender steak- no so here. All of our steaks had a side with gristle and even once you cut that off, trying to cut the steak with the serrated steak knife, it just tore, not cut cleanly. They pride themselves on sustainability- they should not punish those who may want beef. The bar was very limited, only one choice for each spirit. The smoked old fashioned was presented wonderfully, but on the menu it is made with Rye, not Bourbon, and after poured it was a vet watered down cocktail. Overall I will still visit for lunch, no main entrees, just stick with salads, bowls and non alcohol beverages. Prickly Pear spritz is yummy.

Common Bond

Had a great experience at True Food Kitchen in Gaithersburg. I ordered the pizza and a Common Bond cocktail, and both were excellent. The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying, and the drink was a perfect pairing. Hailey was our server and did a wonderful job--friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. The bartender who made our drinks was also very nice and added to the overall positive experience. The whole visit felt relaxed, polished, and enjoyable. I'll definitely be back.

Great little food counter inside Mom's organic Market that sells salads, bowls, juices and baked…read moregoods. They have many vegan and vegetarian options, everything is organic and healthy. Got the vegan black bean quesadilla and mixed berry muffin. At 99 cents each, the muffin is a great price. It looks and tastes homemade, and not as sweet and "cakey" as other commercial bakery muffins. It was moist with sweetness from mostly the blueberries and cranberries (nothing dried, all fresh). Loved it and will buy again. The quesadilla was made to go on a hot skillet. The tortilla was perfectly toasted and crispy. It was stuffed with vegan cheese, black beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and corn. The beans were seasoned well (chipotle) and the vegan cheese and veggies complemented perfectly. Came with also a side portion of spicy crema sauce which added a kick to the dish. Staff was polite, food is great! Will continue supporting these businesses!

Ohhh Nooo! they took away the Jackfruit tacos now! This has been a favorite for me and a lot of…read morepeople I know who come here. Moms Naked Lunch is quietly taking away any and all ingredients that are higher in quality or price and leaving behind the low cost cheap toppings etc. I am pretty sure they took it off the menu just as they took the hearts of palm off the toppings for more profit as these items cost more. At first they hit you with the we are out right now and later they say we are having a problem with the supplier and then it disappears. Corporate PR responses about "customer feedback" definitely do not match what employees and customers actually hear on the floor every day and while ordering their food! Cost cutting is almost certainly the real driving factor behind these menu changes. High-quality organic canned or fresh jackfruit and hearts of palm are notoriously expensive specialty items to source. By quietly pulling hearts of palm from the salad bar toppings and swapping out the popular jackfruit for cheap, bulk organic cabbage, chickpeas, and cauliflower in the Cauliflower Tacos, corporate drastically lowers their "food cost per plate" to protect margins. The cauliflower tacos are definitely not the more popular choice coming from someone who eats here 3 times a week and hears and sees what people are ordering. I have heard and agree that the cauliflower tacos are bland and need seasoning or something to spice them up a bit. I would say this location would benefit drastically from a creative menu developer--I have so many ideas having worked at one of the largest organic co-ops on the west coast, but yes the menu is getting boring and a lot of times I skip out on lunch/dinner here now because options are lacking. They also run out of items ALOT and need better management on supply...or better management in general..eeek! Another observation is that they have become drastically stingy with portion sizes and the tacos are mostly kale with a tiny amount of filling, sometimes not even noticeable when eating. This is the case for most everything on the menu. As a regular customer of many years, the customer service is non existent with their current staff and management. I never received service with a smile and no one ever gives me the service of someone who has been giving this place lots of business since day one like to know what I usually order or my name or even just be pleasant while I decide what I want. I've seen them skip over people that have been waiting in line to serve next person many times and have had people come after me and leave before me with their orders. I think it would benefit to hire more customer oriented staff and management in Naked Lunch and to see some positive changes in the space provided for this eatery in store..not only for the store but for its customers who keep them thriving. Side Note: For a healthy lunch spot, none of their breads offered for items like Tempeh bacon sandwich or the bean burger are sugar-free meaning they all contain cane sugar which is something due to health reasons I cannot have and many who shop here also can relate. For this reason I cannot order these items and I have been told to purchase my own bread in store and have them make it while still paying full price for it and paying for the bread separately. smh

Hubs enjoyed his cheesesteak but he prefers meat. I had a bite and thought it was really flavorful and very closely tasting like the real thing. I noticed later this is a chain, which is pretty cool. I've lived in the city for years and seen various similar restaurants in Chinatown come and go -- like Fuddruckers, Green Turtle, and Ruby Tuesday. And while they may have similar menu items, the food was good. We stopped by on a Saturday early-evening and were seated immediately which I didn't expect. There is 2 floors of seating in what looks like a seemingly small location. While I was there, I saw them quickly accommodate 2 huge buses of tourist with burger dinners and drinks quickly while also still serving regular patrons. As for food, I can say that everything my party ordered was a hit: chicken tenders and fries for kids, cheeseburger, salmon dinner, and pizza! They also had a really cute kids menu ice cream to end the day for my little one. Highly recommend for a sit down meal, decently priced, family friendly, and solid food.
