This particular review is specifically on the Jasmine green tea. My wife loves plants. We come to this square quite often and our routine is (1) drop wife off at At Home (2) I get a large Jasmine Green tea unsweetened (3) Find wife in the pot section at At Home (4) Walk to Lowe's to look at House plants (5) Go back to refill before heading out. I have tried several CAVA in the area and this location is stronger in their green tea flavor. It tastes much better than the other locations. It has been consistently better too. The place is spacious and has lots of seating and you never have to worry about parking. They have outdoor seating as well. read more

One of my favorite things to eat in the DMV is Cava!! They are so consistent with how delicious they cook and prep their food. I also love their freshly made beverages. I always get super greens and rice with either chicken or lamb meatballs. For topping I pretty much get all the fresh vegetables. And you need to get their pita chips too! The service is always so friendly especially at this location. And it is always very clean. read more

Tuesday 11/28/2023 I was always knew about cava but never went until recently when my friend recommended me the spot so I decided to go. This place is like the chipotle process but Mediterranean style where you can design your bowls however you like. I got a custom greens & grains bowl (with baby spinach, Saffron basmati rice, Tzaitak, Traditional hummus, Crazy feta, Grilled chicken, Fiery broccoli, Fire roasted corn, Pickled onions, Tomato & cucumber, Cabbage slaw, Shredded romaine, Crumbled feta, Pita crisps, Balsamic vinaigrette, Garlic dressing, Lemon herb tahini, Free side pita) for $11.15. I had a disappointing first experience to say the least. For one the chicken/protein portions we're ridiculously small. Also the bowl I made ended up being pretty underwhelming. The food experience just wasn't there for me. Overall, Cava wasn't a good experience for me and that's fine, I'm just not their target demographic. read more

Cava has always been one of the better fast food options. The food taste great but they are constantly understaffed, late on take out orders, and screw orders up. Maybe a consequence of going public and answering to shareholders and the market now. It's sad, especially at the locations near the home of the company. read more

For the folks that don't know what CAVA is: it is a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. You choose what ingredients to go into your bowl. This is considered on the healthy side as far as fast food restaurants go. I've visited many CAVAs since they are a chain. This one 5/5 for the location, 4/5 for the food, and 4/5 for the service. This is located in the Kentlands shopping center near the Giant.. So there is plenty of parking lot parking. There is ample seating indoors and outdoors. There are individual seats near the windows if you want just grab a bite on your own. There are also a few tables just outside. I've been here a couple of times and I have not had any issues with the quality of food. I do wish they filled the bowl more. Price for a bowl is around $11 now so I do want to get my money's worth. I like they you can choose to go half grains and half greens for the base. There is also pretty much unlimited toppings. Some proteins and toppings (like avocado) do cost extra though. But you can ask for pita bread on the side and this doesn't cost extra. The pita chips do, however. I normally just get a water cup since I am pretty frugal, but they do have some nice healthy juices (see pic). But this when I went, the water tasted like chemicals so I had to dump it. They really need to check their water pH levels and quality.... But I am glad they have a CAVA here when I need my healthy fast food fix. read more

Food is good, it's Cava. Hard that up. Service is a F-. Horrendous Today I went with my 3 kids. I was helping them with the sauces while also ordering my veggies. The lady puts my 2 choices and then moves bowl along. I said that I wasn't done. She starts staring me down like she wants to fight. Called her out and she didnt eve apologize Told manager and she acknowledged it's a problem with her from facial expression Either Cava is hiring the wrong ppl at this location or they need a change in manager. Sad because it's convenient but staff are BAD. And it's always dirty. Trash cans constantly overflowing. read more

I never remember to capture the bowls until afterwards but I did remember the shake today! Service has always been planant at this location and the quality has yet to waiver. It's cozy enough for a lunch meetup or date and is located in the same plaza as Giant. Sometimes I just go for the blueberry lavender lemonade or a Tahini shake. customer service was dissatisfying. The worker was very negative and rude. It was complicated to understand her Latin accent. However the attitude was abrupt and rude. Everything that I ask for she continue to double charge me extra. I ask for 2 different hummus she told me it was extra. I ask for half and half protein she said that was extra. She was challenging me with my order. Just a nasty personality. I discontinue the order and left her with the rice bowl in her hand. I've been a regular customer of Cava's restaurants for a really long time and never experience any employee such as this lady. I will not be returning back to this cava. This worker needs to understand that customer satisfaction is how she receives her pay check. I refuse to blame it on having a bad day because customer service is a brand that you are selling. It is not a choice. More training is necessary in this case. Personality is everything. We loved the food especially the lamb meatball pita, pickled onions were sooooo savory but it was warm not hot. The most frustrating thing was the menu, the board when you get to the counter is hard to read for some of us and the menus at the start of the line were not stocked. There were signs to social-distance, markers on the ground to guide the flow of traffic, and notices on wearing a mask. There was no one in line ordering. Food was fresh and vibrant and full. This Cava Grill is located in Kentlands, in the same row of shops as Zengo. Parking is a non issue at this location, there is a huge parking lot shared with other retailers. The food here is great, comparable to multiple locations I have visited in the DMV. Customers order a base, dips (up to 3 included with purchase), protein, toppings and dressing. Their bowls are reasonably priced at about $10 a bowl (additional charge for additional protein). I usually order the following: Base: Brown Rice & Arugula Dips: 2 scoops of Harissa and 1 scoop of Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Protein: Falafel Toppings: Pita Chips & Quinoa Dressing: Spicy Harissa I usually visit this location on weeknights, it is rarely ever packed or busy. Staff are polite and move the line quickly. There is plenty of seating available inside if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal versus takeout. Everything moves very fast here, but somehow you feel very comfortable. The regular staff is always friendly and patient even when they are especially busy. The salads/bowls here are very good and they always make me feel regenerated after a long day of work. This review has nothing to do with the food (which we love) but the service at this particular location in Gaithersburg. Not sure what is going on but seeing the other 1 star reviews recently, maybe they plan on closing this location and no one cares anymore?? They are inconsistent with food portions, sometimes they are so stingy with the portions (even when we specify double the toppings so we can have a full bowl they don't bother). They miss the included pita bread many times and I just let it go. This time I had enough with the shift manager's attitude and hence this review. When we order on the website, we cannot specify that we want dips on the side (it allows us to choose dressing on the side, not the dips though). I usually place the order on my computer and soon after I click place order, I call the store (the number shows up on order submitted page) and I tell them to put my dips ALSO on the side. I have not had problems with other shift managers doing this and I do this every time after I place an order. Today I placed order at 8:40pm, called store right away (8:41pm when I was on phone with him - I could see time since I was on computer while also calling store). The manager named Abd** picked up and said the three bowls were already in process of being made and said to call customer service for website issues and to pick up the bowls if I wanted and get customer service to refund me. There is no way they could have filled three bowls in a minute. It was already paid for, so we picked up. The pickup slip says order was filled at 8:45pm, so this manager just lied and refused to make a small change of putting dips on the side, which no other manager had a problem with. Well, like he suggested, I went to the website and complained for the website issue and I hope they train managers to be better at customer service. Let's see if they get back. read more

I don't remember if CAVA was around in 2015 the last time we were in the area but wow, the chain has spread like crazy. Locations in airports, malls, this location in Bethesda and we even saw some in NYC. Food and set-up is very similar to a local SF Bay Area chain, SAJJ - Mediterranean-style pick your base, protein, add-on vegetables, and sauces. It's not clear, but a pita with your meal is included if you want it. Food is tasty, restaurant comfortable if you want to eat in. Great option for fast-casual. read more

I got a bowl with rice, lentil, chicken, quinoa, lettuce and a side of THEEE SPICIEST SAUCE (Which I actually really loved), but it was absolutely spicy -- only requires a little bit. They offer it on Pita bread, but I'm not a fan of Pita Bread. I really enjoyed my bowl -- I would go again. Maybe even today. I got double chicken because like Chipotle they just didn't scoop enough in the bowl and it brought my price to roughly $13 (without a drink). Great alternative to the processed, unhealthy, "FAST" food most of us have accepted as the only way to fit eating into our busy work days. As a construction contractor, running between job sites and suppliers, I would often find myself making bad decisions about where to eat when I was rushed. The places with drive throughs usually won my business because of the misconception that a drive through is always faster. Then you have to figure in the extra time on the tread mill needed to offset the "Super size me (and it does) decision made earlier". Thank God, the owners of "Cava" put a location across from the Home Depot I frequent on Shady Grove Rd in Gaithersburg MD. Inside and out, Cava is super clean and inviting. The menu has many delicious options. The staff is amazing, quick, and personable! They get you out the door fast with delicious, fresh, healthy food!! You never hear from them after they take your $ "pull down to the third window, wait 30 seconds, then go park in space #9 and someone will bring you something that might resemble the pictures on the shiny sign you ordered from earlier". Your body is your temple! Bless it with fresh, healthy food from "Cava". Your body will thank you! Regular customer at this location. When I say regular I mean get a bowl every freaking week! No shame. I discovered Cava many years ago at the Bethesda location and I've been obsessed ever since. Absolutely love this place when I'm feeling in the mood for a filling meal that's still healthy! So many options that you can't get bored whether you want a rice bowl, pita, a salad, mix of rice and salad- you can have it all! The falafel is cooked really well. The black lentils are a good addition too! My favorite 3 dips are harissa, feta and hummus. The only thing I'm not a fan of are the vegetable option in the protein section. The grain bowl consisted of sumac sesame brown rice, falafels, tzatziki sauce, roasted eggplant dip, hummus, tomatoes, diced cucumbers, kalamata olives, pita crisps, yogurt fill, and lemon herb tahini. I also got some pita at no extra cost. As seen in the picture, this combination was wonderfully vibrant and presented nicely within the bowl. It was very filling, and near the end, I was struggling to finish the bowl! I was delighted to discover several falafels, but I was disappointed that the included pita was cold and there was only a small scoop of hummus at the very bottom of the bowl. My brother's pita wrap was generously filled with everything he ordered, but it ended up being a messy meal, likely because he poured all the included sauces on the wrap at once. Ok here's the unpopular opinion I suppose: I prefer Mezeh at the Crown to Cava. Same food concept and same food type in terms of cuisine, but for me the flavors over at Mezeh are better. I got a rice bowl with some chicken, hummus and other fixins. And it was good food, fast and importantly it wasn't too heavy or greasy. In a world where we apparently can't count on Chipotle anymore, Cava steps up and offers tasty food that isn't bad for you. Also fast service. But somehow I like all the other options over at Mezeh a bit more so this place so this doesn't snag a perfect five from me. read more

I'm a huge fan of Cava because there is so much you can add and try until you find the right combination for the right bowl. There are other options as well, depending what you're feeling that day. Generally I get grains and greens with splendidgreens and white rice and top it with chicken, harass, crazy feta, and tzatziki. Then all the toppings I love! I preferred the yogurt dill and used to add Sriracha Greek yogurt, but they sadly got rid of it. Hoping that they bring it back. When arriving to this location, they are always so quick and efficient. At times you may have customers that are new or don't really know what they want and thats generally the only reason why it would go slowly. They offer pita bread with bowls, which is delicious too! With COVID, they are following all necessary guidelines masks, staff wearing gloves and masks, barrier between cashier and customer, hand sanitizer available and all utensils are provided by staff. Their sodas are really good....huge fan of the Mexican cola. Can't skip on this. If you're looking for something different from your typical chipotle bowl and want to venture out to Mediterranean. .. They charge extra for spicy falafel, a seasonal item, and I think they mistakenly gave me the regular falafel because it was not spicy at all. The photos of the bowls online show 5 pieces of falafel per bowl, but I only received 4 pieces. I have a hard time believing that falafel costs more than any of the meat options available for them to charge extra. The fact that grilled veggies count as a "protein" and cost extra is absurd. When I got to the end of the line, my bowl was only 1/2 filled, it looked like there was barely any food for $14. Maybe it is better when you order online, but it definitely isn't worth the money if you plan to not get every single topping. read more

A Perfect 5 stars! Cava is the full package such as my favorite Mediterranean cuisine items, meals are prepared quickly, fresh & healthy ingredients, and delicious drinks to pair up with their meals. I eat there on a weekly basis and mix up my meals with different protein sources such as falafel, braised lamb, braised beef, and their meatballs. Then they have a great spread of sauces such as lemon herb tahini, yogurt dill, and their vinegarette that accompanies their braised lamb & beef soooooo very well! With so many options of salad, rice, hummus, veggies, proteins, and sauces I just never get tired of this place! read more
