This is not the hole in the wall Greek places I'm used to. Humitos is a fantastic restaurant with great interior space. We ordered the beef and lamb gyro sandwich and a Greek salad with falafel on it. The sandwich had great flavor but it was so loaded with lettuce and tomatoes that it was essentially a salad with some meat at the bottom. I'm also used to double the meat on my gyro sandwiches, this one was a bit hidden. The Greek salad was exactly what we were expecting but they didn't include the black olives which is a BIG deal for a Greek salad and what my wife and daughter loves the most. I'm excited to try something else like maybe the moussaka would be better? But the sandwiches I'll pass on next time. read more

I've been bragging about this place a d perhaps it was too soon. It seems like the quality of the tast of the food is starting to decline. My last two visits the food was bland and pretty tasteless. The Lamb Chops did not have that sweet savory taste, just plain ol throw it on the fire taste. The spinach... lackluster whereas it was very flavorful in the beginning. And not to mention that it appears they are now skimping on the portion amount. Now I'm not looking for a portion to feed 2 but more like feed 1 and not a 1/2 of one. We pre ordered our food for pick and we were told 15 minutes. It took 1 hour. While we were waiting the music was very uncomfortably loud and we love live music. We ordered 2 orders of chicken kabobs, falafel and lentil soup. Chicken was very dry and burnt with no flavor. It was so bad that my 14 year old who loves chicken kabobs would eat it. The wooden stick brick in the middle due to being over cooked. Lentil soup was all broth and no lentils. Rice with the kabob platter was dry and no flavor. If a zero was possible I would give them a zero. We won't be going back. read more

We went on a Tuesday around 6 PM and we were the only ones sitting at a table. The food was decent but not fantastic. They were out of lamb. The server spent all of her time talking to the few people at the bar very loudly and took a long time to bring us the check or give me more water when asked. It was pretty pricey as well. Went there after church on Saturday night and it was all good. Friendly, quick service. I had the lamb and beef gyro platter with rice and salad and my wife had a gyro. Also had spanikopita as an appetizer. All delicious and at good prices. The owner came and chatted with us and he was super friendly. He told us that they offered breakfast, starting at 9:00am, so when we were out shopping the next day, we tried it out of curiosity. It, too, was very good. I had the omelette platter and my wife had the avocado toast, which was topped with a fried egg, tomato and onion. Everything was very tasty and reasonably priced. I was hoping to find a gyro place near work other than Athens Grill. I found Humitos. Fairly new place. I ordered the lamb and beef gyro platter. I was satisfied, but would like to try again soon. I was happy with the bread. The bread was fresh, soft, and delicious. The greens that came with the gyro were freshly cut. The sauces were also delicious. The meat was not enough in quantity. This is my opinion. The bread, greens, and sauces over powered the meat. That is why I have to try it again. The type of French fries that came with the combo was not my favorite type. I like the fries thinner and just a little on the crunchy side. My favorite gyro place of all time is Marathon Deli College Park. When I crave gyros I think of Marathon Deli. I can't help but compare. It is so far away though. I will try the gyros at Humitos several more times. Maybe I was way hungry the first time and rushed eating it. The place was clean. I was a fan of the Mediterranean restaurant that was previously in this location and hoped that this new iteration wouldn't disappoint. I have had meals here on two different occasions and enjoyed both. Sauces are really fresh well done without too much salt. I did find the meat portions to be on the lite side. This is a good option that is local. read more

Went to Humitos Grill to try their gyro. My usual gyro place has been closed for the past couple of weeks. I was pleasantly surprised! I was seated and served quickly. The server was very polite and helpful. Based on his answers to my questions, I ordered the beef and lamb gyro combination--a gyro sandwich with fries and a drink included. The gyro was really tasty! The meat was moist and well seasoned and the portion was good. The fries were the best I've tasted in a long while! I believe they had paprika lightly sprinkled on top, which made the fries even more flavorful. They were cooked perfectly: slightly crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. They were a perfect golden color and the portion was just right. There was adequate parking, which was a bonus. I would definitely go back. The menu has a variety of Greek/Mediterranean items as well as a few other food items. read more

Although it is in a strip on Snouffer School Road, don't let that deceive you. The food here is very fresh and delicious! Big portions and wonderful, friendly staff! Had the lamb and chicken kebobs, and lentil soup, (no more Moby.) ....the warm pita served with hummus was a great start to our meal. THeir tsaziki sauce that accompanied the kebobs was best I have ever tasted...can't wait to go back to try more things! Hope everyone will come and support this small business. New restaurant. It didn't start off well because we ordered online, the card was charged, but we didn't receive a confirmation or notification when the food would be ready. After 15 minutes, we drove to the restaurant and found that it was closed! As it turned out, the restaurant (which Yelp said was open until 7 pm on Sunday) had to close early due to an emergency. We were disappointed. The next day the owner called us to apologize and explained what had happened. He offered to give us our dinner free. This story has a happy ending. The next evening we went to pick up our food and we were happy to pay for it -- this restaurant just opened! We took home our Greek salad, humus and pita, and a Caesar salad topped with chicken! Absolutely delicious! Everything seemed so fresh and tasty. We plan to support this restaurant. By the way, we accepted a free glass of their homemade watermelon (and cucumber?) juice and it was fabulous! read more

It was a quiet Tuesday evening -- my birthday. The Mrs. asked where I would like to go to dinner. I opted to try Humitos Grill Restaurant -- the new Mediterranean restaurant on Snouffer School House Road. From outside, we could see that it was empty and was not serving any alcohol -- yet. Did we want to go in? Definitely. What a phenomenal experience we had! The menu offered a number of our favorites. The chef was willing to use the sauce from menu item "C" on my choice of entre' "S." A similar change of vegetable was no problem. In a single word, the food was "wonderful." In another word, it was "gorgeous" - a real work of art. My entre' (salmon) was perfect. The mashed potatoes were HOT enough to be worthy of note. The green beans were not just scooped from the pot onto the plate. They were arranged like a bunch of pencils gathered in a column and held in place with a belt made from a thin slice of carrot. There was a small salad on my plate. But it was not scooped out of a larger pot and thrown onto the plate. It had been carefully built on the plate - layer by layer and topped by a beautiful "flower" made of shaved tomato skins and topped with a single olive -- Gorgeous. My wife ordered a tzatziki, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and an entre' salad. Like my plate, her salad had been carefully built of the freshest ingredients (absolutely no waste). During the course of the meal, our server brought a "chicken roll" for us to try. It would remind you of a large, stuffed, crunchy egg role -- another prize winner. When we had finished everything, our server tempted us with key lime pie, but there were far too many birthday treats waiting at home. What a great birthday dinner!!! read more
