Since Terrapin Station unexpectedly closed before homecoming, I had to take advantage on a day when I found myself in Olney. Olney Station is the OG location, and it was fascinating observing the similarities and differences. For one, their happy hour goes until 7, while Terrapin's was until 6 -- but only the latter had a late night happy hour on Fridays and Saturdays. I think the menus were nearly identical. I went with one of my classic favs -- the bison burger with fries. And it was Burger Tuesday, so it was $5 off, yay! I was sitting at the bar and the bartender was handling everyone's orders efficiently. I forgot his name, but he was a nice older guy. It was nice to see what the original location looks like, and it truly is a nice layout. I'd return, but I'm hoping the location near my house returns sooner than later :). read more

My family and I really enjoyed our time at Olney Station! We ordered a variety of menu items, including their pretzel and beer cheese, chicken quesadillas, burgers, salads, sardi chicken collab, onion rings, and fish and chips! The food came out at a very reasonable pace, and everything came out fresh and hot! Every dish was delicious and generously portioned and seasoned. I think it's also really cool they work with their neighbors, Sardis Chicken, to offer healthier options, like their roasted chicken and vegetable sides! In addition to the food, the staff were so kind and the ambiance is very family-friendly. They have TVs displayed around the restaurant that focuses on the big sports game at the time. I have been sound some very cozy bars but, this one here has everything you look for. Great happy hour, excellent food, accessible to all major roads and highways, plenty of parking. Needless to say Sarah is one of their best bartenders here. Please come visit especially for happy hour. read more

Olney Station consistently delivers absolutely delicious food. That said, the service there, though cheerful, can be absolutely abysmal. My husband and I have been there several times, and we keep coming back for the food itself. However, the last three occasions we went, the table service staff completely left us hanging for drinks, food, and further ordering after our initial orders. Eventually, after about 45 minutes, my husband resorted to just going to the bar to order another beer, which also never appeared. We literally walked over toward the kitchen to request our check and paid out standing there at the terminal with the waitress rather than sit back down and wait. The food is excellent, but until they improve their table service they'll never measure up to the peak of DC restaurants. read more

First time here and I love how quiet it was. Waiters were very attentive and on top of everything. Making sure our food came out fresh, delicious and with the requests accurate. Deviled eggs were ok, I thought it would be more for the price honestly. Burger was my favorite part. A delicious thick patty served at the temperature you desire. We were looking forward to trying this new place as the burgers sounded delicious. We got here Saturday afternoon around 12:15 and we were literally the only people there. One person showed up at the bar but it was just empty. We both ordered 2 draft beers and the classic burger. The draft beers had sooooo much foam. R was also served the wrong beer; but our server wasn't really around enough to say anything. The burgers came out slightly over cooked which I guess we just need to expect from all restaurants now? Plenty of toppings, but there was not any flavor on the burger itself. The fries were pretty over cooked as well. R ordered the cheese fries (at a $2 upcharge) and the cheese was served in a ramekin on the side. Very odd and not worth the upcharge. There are other restaurants in this area that are more consistent so not sure we'll make it back. They seem new so maybe they need to work out some kinks. read more

Delicious food! Service was OK... I imagine it could get really loud when the restaurant is full and if there is live music. I met a couple of friends here after getting my nails done at Star Nails... We were seated immediately. I ordered the crab deviled eggs which were scrumptious! My friends ordered Mojito's that were perfectly mixed. I had the turkey burger and was blown away! Lol seriously, it was so so so so flavorful and YUMMY ! While it was easy to order online and my food was ready on time. My order was wrong, inedible, and expensive. I ordered a medium-rare burger with American cheese and bacon with a side onion rings. The burger was too raw to eat, it had cheddar cheese, and the onion rings were very strange. The were dipped in a thin batter but they weren't crispy in a eatable way. See previous review for burgers and shakes, I'm just appending on what I had on my recent visit for my own memory. I knew the strawberry shake was going to fill me up so wanted a smaller meal and went with two appetizers, the deviled eggs and the shrimp tacos. I liked the deviled eggs, they came with a generous lump of crab on each. I think the filling could have used a little bit more of either mustard or vinegar to "pop" a bit more, but they were still quite good. The shrimp tacos I was more neutral on. They would more accurately be described as very small guacamole tacos, with a couple very tiny pieces of shrimp on each one. But mostly it was just filled with a very lemony guacamole. The shell was light and crisp, but much as I like guacamole in general, it way overwhelmed the taco. I wouldn't order these again. This time hubby got fries with his burger... and alas, the fries are not good. They were dry, starchy and kind of stale tasting. For those keeping score, I didn't care for the onion rings either last time, but the side caesar was pretty good though small. Strawberry shake is still da bomb. I'm thinking next time I'll either go back to the burger and caesar, or maybe get the Sardi's chicken and sides (since we're likely to come here specifically when my hubby is craving a burger, and not because I particularly am.) read more

On vacation from Florida, and like me just say. WOW. First the honey mustard!!! Spectacular. I always like to ask my waiter what their favorite item on the menu is since it is a new restaurant. Grace was not only sweet and nice but very helpful. She came around to check up on us and made sure we had everything. She recommend me her favorite Burger and it was fabulous. I love how she expressed that there was blue cheese on the burger and made sure if I was okay with that. As well as she asked if I wanted to add anything else on it. When the food arrived it looked stupendous. Very nice presentation. Tasted. While there, we got to meet another employee, Joy, who was so sweet and kind and was talking to her about where I'm from and why I was in town. First time here and sat at the bar. Ordered the mushroom burger and a wedge salad as my side. It was a pretty big salad, topped with blue cheese, bacon, tomato, and very good. My burger was slightly overcooked, asked for it medium rare, and it was almost well done. Had pretty good flavor, but probably could have been juicier if cooked properly. Patties are pretty thick, so you would think it's easier to cook to correct temperature. I'd probably return since they seem to have a pretty good looking menu. Service was very good. read more

Along with a guest, I decided to give Olney Station another try. The server was very attentive and excellent, but my hamburger and fries were mediocre. Even though the burger was cooked the way I asked (medium rare), it was surprisingly both dry and mushy, like the ground beef had been ground too fine. The fries tasted like overcooked frozen fries from the supermarket. My guest said that her fettuccine alfredo was very good, so the lunch wasn't a total downer. One problem might have been that we were there at lunchtime and maybe the "B" team was in the kitchen. Socially awkward, not overly attentive, but tried to charm our party when he did attend our table. The dining room was not crowded, at least 2 other waiters were on the floor from what I could see. Our waiter had maybe 1 other table with 2 diners. He took our very basic drink order, 2 lemonades and 1 iced tea. Took about 5 minutes for delivery of these items. We then waited another 10 minutes for him to come back to our table to take our orders. Very simple orders, cheese burger, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich and veggie burger. 30 minutes it took for our food to come out. Our waiter did check on us about 20 minutes after he took our orders to see if we wanted more drinks. At this point we were just hungry. Finally food was delivered. Nothing f was great. The chicken in both chicken meals was over fried. The veggie burger was falling apart, mostly bread. The burger was tasteless. Fires were eatable. After we finished our meals( left most on the plates)our waiter was MIA. Finally flagged down another server who was able to locate our server for the bill. Not worth it. First timer. Doordash delivery. I liked their onion rings - made from scratch with real onion rings fried in flour based batter. For a change, not greasy & no added fake flavoring. Batter was not as soft as greasier ones, but just right for my mouth! The chocolate shake was thick but overly sweet. My guess is there was added sugar or maybe some sugar free ice cream sub but it was a no go for me. The burger was big & juicy & pretty fantastic as far as burgers go. Four of us ate here a few days ago for lunch. We had different burgers and a chicken sandwich. All of the food was delicious! The burgers were better than most places we have tried. The fries were hot and homemade. The onion rings were very crispy and delicious. The service was excellent! We also enjoyed the ambiance and the TVs to watch sports. It's a new spot, with a clean sports-bar feel inside. There's clearly a train theme going on. For appetizers, we got the crab deviled eggs and the calamari. I think the deviled eggs were okay, but we have had the crab deviled eggs at St.Anselm at DC so we had high expectations. The crab was a bit tough and the filling was a bit salty and tasted too overwhelmingly mustardy. The calamari was good, very crunchy but with maybe too much batter. Moving onto the entrees, I got the classic burger with caramelized onions. The meat blend was good, lots of flavor, not too dry. Nothing to complain about the burgers, but a burger has to be supplemented with good fries or onion rings. The fries were not seasoned at all (not even salt and pepper) and the onion rings were some of the worst I've ever had. The onion ring batter made it taste stale and hard because it has no surface area and is more of a shell rather than crust made with individual crumbs. I was looking forward to trying this place, but was sadly disappointed. It was a decent option, but nothing to write home about. I would really advise to avoid the onion rings though, since you can always season your own fries or use sauces. The onion rings were not salvagable. read more

The place used to be Sardi pub/restaurant about a year ago. It's bigger & nicer now. Food is yummy and service is fine. The only complain was one of us "upgraded" her side from French fries to onion rings (cost $2 extra). It was utterly disappointed , only 4 onion rings were served! Not only it tasted very bland, the portion was ridiculously small. My daughter-in-law was so disappointed, felt like it's a ripped-off. This was our first time trying Olney Station and we were really impressed. Our server was incredibly attentive. We didn't have to ask for refills and our order was perfect. My wife got the chicken tenders and fries. They were crispy and well seasoned. They were also a good size. At some places the tenders are just a little bigger than chicken nuggets but that is not the case here. She didn't finish them all. Our server brought out a selection of dips (ranch, honey-mustard, and ketchup) which I thought was a nice touch. I got the bison burger (but switched to the veggie burger patty). The veggie burger was black-bean based and I could see chunks of sweet red pepper in it. It was flavorful, but like many bean patties, it's a bit mushy which wasn't helped with the added avocado. It was still really tasty and the bun kept everything in check so it wasn't messy. We both got the fries which were thicker than regular fries but not as thick as steak fries. They were really crispy and served hot. We thought the price was ok. Considering the food quality (taste, freshness, and temperature) plus the great service, I thought the value was definitely there and have no buyers remorse at all. Being a new restaurant, everything was very clean (including bathrooms), and all staff were pleasant and greeted with a smile. Our only quibble was the music was really loud for the time we were there (Sunday at lunch), but it would have been fine on a Friday/Saturday night. They have a great happy hour menu with great drink prices, so we will be back then to try some of the apps that caught our eye but didn't want to splurge on. read more

The food was good enough but the service was poor. When we were ready to order, our waiter who didn't give us menus when we first sat down, said "are you guys finally ready to order?" When our food arrived at the table, he took off very quickly and we had to hunt him down again to get some mustard which was tossed, not placed on the table. Everything which should have been normal service check-ins (water, check, etc) were long waits because we had to track down the waiter.
