There was a time I rated Olney Station a 5. Sadly not anymore. I've been going there for take out for over 3 years. The last 2 times the bread was over toasted. Too hard to chew. I called & they made it right. I was there a couple of weeks ago. The Rib Eye was over cooked, making it to tough to chew. They used American cheese, instead of sharp cheese. IMO the sharp cheese makes a difference for me. Then my fries weren't included. I called & left a message. This time no one got back to me. It's too bad! I really liked the cheesesteak subs. For the price, if I can't have what I thought was the best. I'm not gambling on a hit or miss. The reason I did take out is my BF had a stroke & can't take the noise. It's a nice place. WINGS, WINGS, WINGS along with their Greek Cobb is my "go to" when I have lunch at Olney Station. BTW, their wings on Wednesdays are half price! The service is wonderful with cheerful waiters treating you like an old friend. Tables of friends meet for lunch and spend time enjoying their lunches and catching up. This place is n the Laytonsville Center across frm the Olney Town Center Village Across the Street and Across the Street frm The Brew Belly Restaurant. This olace is next door to Sardis Chicken and popeyes . This is what we call, Olney Station Restaurant And bar which is in a jixe area of Olney . As you enter their doors you see the host Station . Plus their big Barista area where they serve you all the drinks you could ever want from Exotic or Sodas and more. They have a impressive racks of alcoholic beverages along thecwalls with HUGE HGTV'S. THEY have huge dining area with great hosts and server staff . Tey have good managers here . I filled out online applications on both Indeed.com app and ziprecruiter recently . Im still waiting to get responses to see if i can get a job here . But due t what the pandemic did to all of us , I needct help end the dicivisions between all of us that caused businesses o hurt badly and make a difference again. I love customer interaction and customer relations type service to make things better once again to mske all feel welcomed, At Home, And feel like family once more . Thats why i want this job here fir the right reasons . Politics abd more should be forbidden in al places of business . Thats wgat caused societies downfall 7 years ago to this day . My wife and I were in the area for a funeral, and after the service was over, we came here for something to eat. Olney Grill is located in a shopping center, right in the center of it. When you walk in, you get the feeling that this is a place that has been around for a while. The bar is a nice size and is the first thing you see when you walk in. There are lots of booths throughout the restaurant, along with a large circular booth in the back. We were seated in an area where they had tables put together for the group from the service. Because we were there with the group, we were given a smaller menu with a limited selection rather than the restaurant's regular menu. I did get a chance to look around when I went to the restroom, and there were quite a few people eating. I noticed several people had ordered the fried chicken, and it looked really good. If we are ever back in the area, that's definitely something I'd like to try. My wife had a pasta dish with vegetables, and I ordered the Olney Grill Sandwich, which had ham, turkey, tomato and American cheese, grilled and served with potato salad. The sandwich was okay. I didn't have my glasses with me, so I couldn't read the menu very well. I don't care for American cheese, otherwise I probably would have ordered something different. My favorite is hot pastrami, and I would have ordered that, but the menu said it came on rye bread. My brother-in-law ordered it, and he said it actually came on pumpernickel. Overall, the service was great. The gentleman taking care of our group did an excellent job. I don't think anyone had to ask him for anything--or at least very rarely. He kept everything moving and made sure everyone was taken care of. We didn't get to experience the full regular menu because of the limited menu offered to our group, but from what I saw, the restaurant had a good number of people dining and the food coming out looked very good. If you're ever in the Olney area, I'd definitely recommend stopping in and giving Olney Grill a try. read more

This is a cute little place in Olney! TLDR; Decent food but ALWAYS a LONG WAIT I had ordered a BUNCH of food Crab Poutine: 2/5 This SOUNDS good, but unfortunately misses the mark. There an okay amount of crab but it's pretty wet on the consistency not like the normal idea of "poutine" would be a far cry from what you get. And because it's watery it makes the fries extra soggy and not crisp and the flavor is just okay. Overall, mediocre and not worth it. Skip. Pretzel and beer cheese: 3/5 This isn't too bad! The pretzel was good texture and was a good pretzel, a little small nubs not like a full pretzel pretzel, but not bad. The cheese was alright, good pairing, nothing that stands out but not bad for a pretzel fix. Burgers: We had gotten several burgers, all of them were decent, I'm not sure if it's worth $20....but it was a solid juicy burger and had good flavor! The service, oh my goodness, this is the SLOWEST restaurant I have went a couple of times and each time it takes a solid 45min to an hour to get your food. So the attentiveness to the water and the wait for the food is SO LONG. Overall, I think that the food is good but I'm not sure if it's worth the wait and the price. read more

I went to Olney Station with friends for my birthday. I had not had a good burger in years. It was worth the wait! I had the cheddar bacon burger. A thick juicy tasty patty cooked to a perfect medium as requested with candied bacon and a seeded bun. Delicious! I also had the poutine as an appetizer. One of my food "bucket list" items. Outstanding. The fries were a revelation thick and meaty yet crispy as well as hot. The sauce was also tasty. A special treat was the boozy milkshake. A special shout out to server Lisa who provided attentive expert service, confirming ever item ordered to make sure there were no mistakes. Since Terrapin Station unexpectedly closed before homecoming, I had to take advantage on a day when I found myself in Olney. Olney Station is the OG location, and it was fascinating observing the similarities and differences. For one, their happy hour goes until 7, while Terrapin's was until 6 -- but only the latter had a late night happy hour on Fridays and Saturdays. I think the menus were nearly identical. I went with one of my classic favs -- the bison burger with fries. And it was Burger Tuesday, so it was $5 off, yay! I was sitting at the bar and the bartender was handling everyone's orders efficiently. I forgot his name, but he was a nice older guy. It was nice to see what the original location looks like, and it truly is a nice layout. I'd return, but I'm hoping the location near my house returns sooner than later :). read more

My family and I really enjoyed our time at Olney Station! We ordered a variety of menu items, including their pretzel and beer cheese, chicken quesadillas, burgers, salads, sardi chicken collab, onion rings, and fish and chips! The food came out at a very reasonable pace, and everything came out fresh and hot! Every dish was delicious and generously portioned and seasoned. I think it's also really cool they work with their neighbors, Sardis Chicken, to offer healthier options, like their roasted chicken and vegetable sides! In addition to the food, the staff were so kind and the ambiance is very family-friendly. They have TVs displayed around the restaurant that focuses on the big sports game at the time. The smoky bleu cheese burger with caramelized onions might be the best I've ever eaten. It was done perfectly-- red/red-pink. We were looking forward to trying this new place as the burgers sounded delicious. We got here Saturday afternoon around 12:15 and we were literally the only people there. One person showed up at the bar but it was just empty. We both ordered 2 draft beers and the classic burger. The draft beers had sooooo much foam. R was also served the wrong beer; but our server wasn't really around enough to say anything. The burgers came out slightly over cooked which I guess we just need to expect from all restaurants now? Plenty of toppings, but there was not any flavor on the burger itself. The fries were pretty over cooked as well. R ordered the cheese fries (at a $2 upcharge) and the cheese was served in a ramekin on the side. Very odd and not worth the upcharge. There are other restaurants in this area that are more consistent so not sure we'll make it back. They seem new so maybe they need to work out some kinks. read more

Olney Station consistently delivers absolutely delicious food. That said, the service there, though cheerful, can be absolutely abysmal. My husband and I have been there several times, and we keep coming back for the food itself. However, the last three occasions we went, the table service staff completely left us hanging for drinks, food, and further ordering after our initial orders. Eventually, after about 45 minutes, my husband resorted to just going to the bar to order another beer, which also never appeared. We literally walked over toward the kitchen to request our check and paid out standing there at the terminal with the waitress rather than sit back down and wait. The food is excellent, but until they improve their table service they'll never measure up to the peak of DC restaurants. read more

I met a couple of friends here after getting my nails done at Star Nails... We were seated immediately. I ordered the crab deviled eggs which were scrumptious! While it was easy to order online and my food was ready on time. My order was wrong, inedible, and expensive. I ordered a medium-rare burger with American cheese and bacon with a side onion rings. See previous review for burgers and shakes, I'm just appending on what I had on my recent visit for my own memory. I knew the strawberry shake was going to fill me up so wanted a smaller meal and went with two appetizers, the deviled eggs and the shrimp tacos. I liked the deviled eggs, they came with a generous lump of crab on each. I think the filling could have used a little bit more of either mustard or vinegar to "pop" a bit more, but they were still quite good. The shrimp tacos I was more neutral on. They would more accurately be described as very small guacamole tacos, with a couple very tiny pieces of shrimp on each one. But mostly it was just filled with a very lemony guacamole. The shell was light and crisp, but much as I like guacamole in general, it way overwhelmed the taco. I wouldn't order these again. This time hubby got fries with his burger... and alas, the fries are not good. They were dry, starchy and kind of stale tasting. For those keeping score, I didn't care for the onion rings either last time, but the side caesar was pretty good though small. Strawberry shake is still da bomb. I'm thinking next time I'll either go back to the burger and caesar, or maybe get the Sardi's chicken and sides (since we're likely to come here specifically when my hubby is craving a burger, and not because I particularly am.) read more

First time here and sat at the bar. Ordered the mushroom burger and a wedge salad as my side. It was a pretty big salad, topped with blue cheese, bacon, tomato, and very good. My burger was slightly overcooked, asked for it medium rare, and it was almost well done. Had pretty good flavor, but probably could have been juicier if cooked properly. Four of us ate here a few days ago for lunch. We had different burgers and a chicken sandwich. All of the food was delicious! The burgers were better than most places we have tried. It's a new spot, with a clean sports-bar feel inside. There's clearly a train theme going on. For appetizers, we got the crab deviled eggs and the calamari. I think the deviled eggs were okay, but we have had the crab deviled eggs at St.Anselm at DC so we had high expectations. The crab was a bit tough and the filling was a bit salty and tasted too overwhelmingly mustardy. The calamari was good, very crunchy but with maybe too much batter. Moving onto the entrees, I got the classic burger with caramelized onions. The meat blend was good, lots of flavor, not too dry. Nothing to complain about the burgers, but a burger has to be supplemented with good fries or onion rings. The fries were not seasoned at all (not even salt and pepper) and the onion rings were some of the worst I've ever had. The onion ring batter made it taste stale and hard because it has no surface area and is more of a shell rather than crust made with individual crumbs. I was looking forward to trying this place, but was sadly disappointed. It was a decent option, but nothing to write home about. I would really advise to avoid the onion rings though, since you can always season your own fries or use sauces. The onion rings were not salvagable. read more

The place used to be Sardi pub/restaurant about a year ago. It's bigger & nicer now. Food is yummy and service is fine. The only complain was one of us "upgraded" her side from French fries to onion rings (cost $2 extra). It was utterly disappointed , only 4 onion rings were served! Not only it tasted very bland, the portion was ridiculously small. My daughter-in-law was so disappointed, felt like it's a ripped-off. It was upsetting to start out a meal with disappointment for our family night out. read more

On vacation from Florida, and like me just say. WOW. First the honey mustard!!! Spectacular. I always like to ask my waiter what their favorite item on the menu is since it is a new restaurant. Grace was not only sweet and nice but very helpful. She came around to check up on us and made sure we had everything. She recommend me her favorite Burger and it was fabulous.
