A hidden gem with the best burgers!! The ingredients here are the best making this one of the best burgers in the area. Skip the big restaurants and pro es, this burger is under $15 and will satisfy all cravings. Most people order for pick up. There is a small table and diner style bar to eat in. The best quality is what keeps this little spot open and busy. Worth the drive!

I had high expectations of Sunshine given the stellar reviews of being known as the best burgers in MoCo, but was surprised and disappointed. The burgers are a single patty, large in size, and cost around $10 each, but were tasteless. The meat was not seasoned at all. Some of the reviews started the burgers can be overly salted, but I would have loved some salt. The only taste the burger had was the ketchup and mustard. The tomatoes, lettuce, and bun at least seemed fresh. What I found odd was when the employee taking the order was using a mirror when speaking to customers rather than turning around to take the order. Perhaps there was a reason for this, but I didn't ask. The store itself is dingy, dirty, and unappealing. But somehow this place is still popular!

I eat a lot of burgers (as Yelp has pointed out to me) & the Sunshine Burger is truly a champion! A king among kings! 1st the beef is juicy w a perfect char around the edges. Juicy but not that it drips all down your hand. Probably a good 8oz patty. My husband said his bacon cheeseburger was the best he's ever had. The best! Why? He said the bacon was perfectly cooked & was in every bite including the last. The super nice ladies will cook your Sunshine burger exactly as you like it - perfection on a bun. Please note they can get pretty busy sometimes so it's possible to order your burger or sandwich ahead. Speaking of sandwiches- the BLT the lady got looked amazing! Take a trip out to Sunshine & get super awesome lunch!

One of the best burgers in the DMV. Well worth the trip. The ladies behind the counter were kind and know how to make a great burger.

The morning was perfect for a visit to their patio. Lots of small planes taking off and landing in the near distance. After receiving our menus, it was time to order. I got their Norwegian pancakes called "Pannekaker" wrapped with strawberry preserves on the inside with sprinkles of sweet blueberries. That was the option I selected as there are two other choices: cinnamon and sugar or lingonberries. I have tried the one with lingonberries - just as good. I also added an egg (scrambled) and sausage which is extra, but it was a meal I was looking forward to. I also got their Apple Cider mimosa - loved it. The other mimosa selections were the lingonberry and elderflower flavors, which are great as well. For the featured pastries, they showed us 3 choices for that week: Coffee Cake, Lingonberry Almond Cookie, and Chocolate Cheesecake. Paola's fresh pastries and they all looked tempting, but I settled on the Coffee Cake. The top had a slightly sweet crunch to it, while the rest of the cake was soft. I loved it. Service was great.

A younger guy came over to us, we told him there was five in our party and he said he would have to talk to his manager even though there were five or six open tables in view. We got a bigger table near the stage area where the bluegrass band set up for the night. The staff seemed straight up frazzled. It was hard to get our servers attention and had to follow up with requests for a few items throughout the night. I got the buffalo tenders and fries and it was passable but barely any sauce and unfortunately that's one of the items that I requested and never got. One bite and I remembered exactly why Maryland's Latin cuisine stands on business. The tacos? Packed with flavor, seasoned like somebody's abuela was in the back making sure it was done right. Fresh toppings, tender meat, and tortillas that tasted like they actually matter. No shortcuts. No playing around. And let me be clear -- Jazmin hits WAY harder than Chipotle. Not even the same conversation. This is the kind of food that reminds you what authentic is supposed to taste like. Vegas couldn't touch this if they tried. But there's a pattern here that keeps me from giving a higher rating, and today it crossed a line. For a spot charging $7+ for a bagel with cream cheese, the policy of charging extra for a to-go cup with ice and a lid has always felt petty. Today it got worse. I asked for an extra cup & lid for ice before being rung up, and the employee wrongly assumed I wanted a simple water cup. When I clarified, instead of extending a small courtesy to a regular customer, he stopped and ran a separate credit card transaction for $2.65, the full price of a beverage, for an empty cup. I had already paid for my bottled beverage. It's not solely about the money. It's about what that gesture communicates to your customer. A $0.25 cup given as a goodwill gesture goes a long way. A separate $2.65 charge for an empty cup does the opposite. The food and early open time will keep bringing me back. But management should keep in mind that it's the small things that turn regulars into occasional visitors.
