I didn't feel like I should just ask because...I don't know, maybe those aren't supposed to be given out for free and it was just a nice thing the staff did for me earlier in the week? But I really missed having some strawberry jam with my toast. One thing I love about the toast when you get it to-go, they wrap it in a separately to keep it from getting soggy. I really liked this. Overall, I'm really sorry I made a mistake in my previous review about the credit card processing fee. I wish the service would've been better this time and from other reviews, it seems like it's definitely mixed. My husband said his tot hash was not what he expected (they seem to make their own tots and then deep fry them) but he did like it. My benedict was decent, but there was way too much ham and not enough hollandaise. I hate when people are stingy with the hollandaise. Coffee was good and strong. My peach mimosa was fine but honestly pretty small -- I'd be surprised if it was 8 oz. Service was OK. Nothing super major to complain about, but my mimosa wasn't delivered until I was almost through my first cup of coffee. The waitress clearly just forgot about it. She basically said so and apologized. I noted that many tables had lovely little bottles of water for when you wanted to refill your glass, but we did not receive one. It also bothered me a bit that there was a lot of "stuff" on the floor. Trash, bits of food, etc. I know that things get really busy at brunch spots on the weekends. Our server had to come back to our table multiple times to get our breakfast order put into the kitchen (one trip for potato choice, one trip for eggs and I still didn't even get the right kind, one trip for toast, one trip for the meat, I felt like I was being punk'd), the food was extremely underdone but somehow took forever to prepare so I really just had toast and coffee for breakfast (almost raw hashbrowns, raw onions, barely melted cheese) and it was over $50 for two of us to have breakfast with a tip. When we moved here three years ago it was one of our solid spots for a bite to eat but I don't think I'd go back again after the last two experiences. We thought the first instance was a fluke when we weren't served or even greeted after we were sat but now the food isn't really worth going back for. Used to feel like a place to bring family and now it just has a very different vibe. Servers were nice and it's got potential to reign it back in but I can't say I'll be holding my breath.
