A friend and I stopped here after biking in the Shakopee - Chaska area. What a cute shop! We thought we earned a glass of wine after biking 25m. We spilt a flight of 4 options, a white, 2 reds, and a bubbly rose. All were delicious. We decided the Bordeaux was our fav. Accompanying the wine, we shared a charcuterie tray. It was beautiful and delicious. So many options to mix and match. On the way out, I couldn't pass up the colorful macarons. Service was excellent. We found street parking right outside the front door. Great experience. read more

Edelweiss is easily my favorite spot in the area. There's almost always a line on weekends, but it's totally worth it and moves fast so you're not waiting long. Everything looks so good it's hard not to over order. They have a really great mix of sweet and savory options. Pastries, donuts, cakes, sandwiches, and more. The quiche is one of my go-to items and the breakfast pastries are always so good. They also have homemade granola that is to die for. Coffee and matcha are consistently great also. I love their seasonal fresh orange juice but it is a little pricey. The space itself is super cute and nicely decorated with plenty of seating, so it's a great place to sit and actually enjoy your food. I also love that they're open in the evening for wine and small plates. Makes it such a fun and unique spot for the area. Such a great local spot that does it all really well. Definitely recommend. read more

The line is usually out the door over the weekend but goes relatively quickly. Parking is available on the street. They have a little bit of outdoor seating. This is perfect to stop when you're walking or biking so you don't have to worry about your car. Coffee was delicious! read more

OMG! One of the best breakfast spots in Minnesota. We stopped here on a whim while out on a motorcycle ride, and it was exactly what we needed after a late night drive home and an early start to the day. The food and drinks were light, refreshing, and perfect for fueling up before more riding. I had the granola and a pop tart with a strawberry lemonade, and my husband went for the breakfast sandwich with a coffee. Everything hit the spot and made the morning feel instantly better. read more

Best kept secret in Minnesota. Shakopee should come here instead of visit the main bakery in Shakopee. I've been here lots of times. The donuts are top notch as well as the breakfast and lunch items. I recently tried the viral Dubai chocolate donut and dangggggg. It was amazing. Check it out if you haven't been there in awhile. read more

I got the Skillet Joe's Fried Egg Sandwich, which was great (4.5), and two loaves of bread (5/5)! The toasted bread for the sandwich is nice and crunchy, and the aioli adds a nice touch! I get bread from here pretty frequently, and it is always amazing (5/5)! The loaves have a nice crunchy crust and fluffy inside, which I love! Service is always good, and the bakery has a nice vibe (5/5)! read more

Fantastic. Stopped in for some breakfast sandwiches and the croissant was delicious. The sausage patty was good, but very thin. I got cheddar cheese on mine and could barely tell it was there. Wish the cheese was thicker. Eggs were good but almost overpowering. Lots of egg. But, all that considered, it still tasted amazing. We got a cinnamon roll. Again, fantastic! I wish they would've offered to heat it up though. Was weird eating a room temp cinnamon roll. Service was great. Employees seemed happy! The vibes of the restaurant were nice too. Very clean and warm. Pricing was a bit much. But hey, everything is now-a-days I guess . We got the take and bake carmel rolls and they were (deep breath) 22 DOLLARS + TAX! I sincerely hope they are worth it (I'll find out tomorrow morning). Overall, food is amazing. Prepare your wallet. read more

I met a friend at the bakery for brunch. There were a lot of selections to choose from. I went with an iced coffee and an orange rhubarb croissant. Delicious!!! Edelweiss is my absolute favorite spot in the area! And apparently everyone else agrees because there's always a line on weekends 100% worth the short wait. The shop has a great selection of sweet and savory breakfast pastries, donuts, cakes and other desserts, and sandwiches. Plus delicious coffee and tea. All the food is absolutely divine and you will have a tough time not buying everything! There are a number of tables and the bakery is nicely decorated, so you'll definitely want to sit and enjoy. Oh, and be sure to come by in the evening for wine, charcuterie, and other small plates. My friends and I ordered 4 different bruschettas - we l liked sweet and also savory ones, and you can mix and match! The wine was tasty! Highly recommend this local business!! read more

Came here on a Sunday morning, and even though it was packed, we managed to get spots by the window. The line to order moved relatively quickly, but it took about ten minutes for my Lavender Matcha Latte to be ready. I also got a Chocolate French Cruller and Plain Croissant. I wish the croissant was flakier, but the cruller was great. We also realized while eating that they charged us for something we didn't order, but they were more than happy to fix the error for us. Overall, a cute spot for breakfast but nothing particularly outstanding. I would come back for the drinks but probably not the pastries. read more

Hadn't been before and went to pick up some donuts for the neighbors. It's a really cute space and their cafe menu looks pretty good. The staff and everyone else in the cafe was super friendly and it was a great experience. The donuts themselves were pretty disappointing, though. Standard cake donuts but not quite on the level as the several other donut shops in the area. I'd definitely go to Bogarts or YoYo if you're in SE, but Cardigan is the leader by far. I want to come back to try their sandwiches so might try it out as a remote work spot one day. Probably won't be back for their pastries, though. read more

This place is charming and makes a delicious breakfast sandwich! They take flaky and crisp croissants and put two eggs, sausage, ham, or bacon, and cheese on it to make a yummy and filling combo. We tried the maple bacon on one and the sausage on the other, both were great and we will definitely be getting them again. The service was fast, food was ready fast, and this place has a surprising amount of seating- that isn't crowded and is comfortable. On a Sunday morning before the after church rush it was busy but we easily found a table for two. The donuts were meh, we had glazed and a glazed dirt and worms, both were 6/10- nothing special. We also didn't see sticky buns, which everyone I know recommended this placed based on the sticky buns... so I was a lil confused/surprised they weren't in a case or on the menu at all. read more

While visiting my friend in Prior Lake, I found out about their Sunday tradition to get donuts from Edelweiss Bakery. Located right in the charming town, the bakery offers a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dessert options, including donuts, breakfast sandwiches, cakes, sandwiches, salads, etc. Being Sunday morning, it was quite busy but the service is helpful and tries to keep the line moving. We grabbed 3 donuts which included a chocolate with sprinkles, apple fritter, glazed, and a maple, as well as a croissant. The donuts were a great morning treat, and all of the desserts looked absolutely delicious. The lunch menu also sounded great which I would love to try during my next visit. I highly recommend swinging into Edelweiss Bakery if you're in town! read more

This is my new favorite coffee shop!! It's decorated so cute, staff is friendly and efficient. The food is great. I love all the options for coffee. My favorite is black coffee so I appreciate how they have a dark roast, a light roast, a flavored coffee and a decaf. You can get your own free refills. My friend ordered a chai tea latte and enjoyed that! I recommend meeting a friend here for coffee and pastries, then waking through Lake park - one block away. It's gorgeous right now! We've gone here a handful of times and it NEVER disappoints. We first tried the caramel rolls, then the hot cocoa bombs & take-home sugar cookie decorating kits during COVID, and have continuously gone back since for their various de-licious pastries and coffee. I love the self-serve coffee pumps (the Texas Pecan medium roast is absolute ) ! Everybody we've dealt with has been so nice and hard working, and the shop & seating area is so great, it almost makes me feel like I've been transported many miles away to a much more quiet, small town, than I'm generally used to. I found "Downtown"Prior Lake! Edelweiss Bakery is a cute locally owned business. It serves pastries and coffee as well as breakfast sandwiches. The pastries were good, I had a feeling not all were made there. I will definitely ask next time. Ŵhen I ordered a coffee with almond milk, I was told the "mixture" was cows milk. I did not see a Barrista setting. I got a coffee with a shot of chocolate and almond milk. That was very good. Lots of questions as to how much is in house, but overall busy and pleasant staff. read more

Love this little spot. I gave them only 3 stars because they are a bit spendy. One breakfast sandwich that comes without sides, husband had a danish and cup of coffee and the total was $20.00. I barely ate the sandwich as it was just okay. They also charge for a refill on coffee (just so you know. I mean it's only .25 cents but no one does that) Now, the space is lovely especially if you sit in the back. They have a community table which is fun as well. I still love coming here as it's just a cozy small town feel. They do have lots of fun treats and make their granola fresh. Weekends the lines are long which always makes me happy. A delightful bakery in the middle of downtown Prior Lake. Coffees, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, cakes, quiches, need I say more? They have all wonderful offerings a cozy bakery should and the most beautiful display case of all of their sugary goodness. We scratched the surface with a maple long John (the maple was so so good and the donut a perfect density, soft and flavorful) and a lemon danish which had the perfect lemony zest and crust to filling ratio. Their light roast coffee was a perfect complement and notable for takeout on its own and I indulged in an iced almond milk almond latte - yum! read more

I ordered two 1/4-sheet cakes, one chocolate/chocolate, the other Strawberry Chantilly. Based on previous experience, I was expecting a thin, so-so cake, with frosting that resembled drywall compound. What a wonderful surprise - the cakes were twice as thick as expected, and tasted terrific. When ordering, I thought we might run out, but because they were so thick, we had more than enough. Everyone loved them. The online order form limits the number of characters for the message. I asked if I could use more, and they accommodated my request without problem. read more

I've been to the bakery countless times and have never been disappointed. The donuts, pastries and coffee are all to die for. They recently opened as a wine bar at night and I finally stopped in on Friday night! They have a solid selection of wines - my boyfriend and I split a flight of 4 wines of our choice and really enjoyed them. They had low lighting and a really cozy atmosphere as well as a full case of desserts available for purchase. The caramel rolls are the best!!! We love this little bakery. Too many tasty options and pastries. Last year we preordered a cookie kit for at home which was so much fun, and the cookies were delicious. They also do donut kits and other fun things. The yearly flavored hot cocoa bombs are a hit too. Edelweiss also just opened up a wine bar in the evenings which is super awesome to have close by. I'm hoping to try that soon, and I'll update my review. read more

Edelweiss is a hidden gem. It's one of my favorite breakfast spots south of the Twin Cities, and has some of the best doughnuts in the state of Minnesota. Their Boston cream doughnuts are the best I've ever had anywhere -- so fresh, and with all natural ingredients, nothing artificial. Their coffee is excellent, and their breakfast sandwiches are superb. These come with a little side of their granola, which is also very good and a cool idea for a breakfast side. They do a brisk business in fancy desserts, which are in the left side of their case. Sooooo very worth the calories! Need a pie to bring to a Thanksgiving get-together? Their bourbon pecan pie is wonderful. My only bone to pick is that their apple desserts and doughnuts don't quite excel to the same degree as everything else. They slice their apples thickly, so the fruit isn't always cooked through. The service is very good. Ambiance is bright and sunny due to their windows, and there's a charming fireplace in the back. Stop by sometime! You'll be glad you did. read more

Don't hesitate, eat your feelings, and love every bite. Cookies, donuts, sandwiches, cakes, macarons, all of it. Delish. Say no more.

Unfortunately I haven't been here personally but saw a vid where a guy went to purchase 40 doughnuts to give out to homeless people and the owner ended up giving that, plus another box, for free to support this guy josh doing a nice thing. It really touched my heart and hope he gets a lot of business for giving back. If I'm ever near this town, I will def be stopping by to support this business. read more

I'm new to the Prior Lake area and wanted to try Edelweiss because I heard wonderful things about it. I ordered a small salted caramel cappuccino which cost nearly $6, and when I picked it up it was light as a feather. I opened the cup and it was about 1/4 coffee and 3/4 foam. I'm super disappointed and it was a waste of money. Maybe don't get the cappuccino if you go there. read more

The cutest little spot in the heart of downtown Prior Lake! We were pretty basic with our order for first time around (turkey sandwich for my four year old and a spinach strawberry salad for myself) - but the bread was DELICIOUS- and my daughter convinced me to get her a doughnut for later (which looks pretty darn yummy, also :-) ). This bakery may be the best in Minnesota. Living in Rochester, we have nothing that even comes close. The baked goods are artfully arranged and just a pleasure to look at, and the their taste equals or exceeds their alluring appearance. Most baked goods have become dry and less flavorful. Not here.
