I'm from Texas and I've never seen kolache up north, but this place has them! Not to mention the variety of doughnuts they have is incredible! All of the doughnuts are so fresh and fluffy and huge. They weren't oily at all I was very impressed. The filled doughnuts are filled to order, I got the cream cheese one and it was incredible! I have to come back to try more! The young woman who served me was very friendly and efficient. The only negative part of my experience was the tapioca pearls, I think I got the end of the batch because they were not good. I love these donuts so much!! They really are the best around. They are so soft and moist with the best glaze on it. So many different flavors and they are all good! The original glazed is amazing but all of them are really good! Dare I even say these are better than Krispy Kreme? These are the best donuts I have had in the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I typically go around 8AM on the weekdays and never have to wait more than 10 minutes to order. They have some cute decorations inside but it's mostly a grab and go spot. This is a truly amazing donut purveyor. I've been canvassing donut shops all across the cities and, so far, this has been my favorite. They have the classics and some interesting flavors (salted caramel). The glazed/raised was ethereal perfection and melts in your mouth. The plain cake donut was even outstanding - the maple-glazed old fashioned was a cut above. What makes this place really unique is that they will fill your bismark or long john to order - pick the shell you want (plain, glazed, sugared, etc.) and pick from many different fruit or a custard filling. So me and my boyfriend went here every weekend for like 2 months straight and continue to go at least once a month now... SO GOOD!!! and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. their decor shelf is so cute and the seating is cozy! they have yummy bubble shakes. we've gone there so often they know we get it without boba and my boyfriend always gets cookies and cream which is my favorite so far along with the strawberry. They are decent donuts. Nothing amazing -- same basic pillows of fried dough and shortening based frosting you'll get anywhere. The one really cool thing though is that for any Bismarck (circular filled doughnut), you can get it filled custom when you order! Fruit flavors, multiple kinds of pastry cream, or custard. I just found the best apple fritter in Minnesota. I love the apple fritter. It's my favorite donut. We initially heard about The Donut Hole after they were featured on the local news. What really caught our interest is that they make Kolaches. They make Texas style Kolaches!. After spending some time in Austin last year, and eating the best Kolaches at Kerlin BBQ, we knew we had to give this place a try. We recently made the drive over to the donut hole. It was about 7:30am and they were busy. We had an idea of what we wanted to order. I had read and heard their apple fritter was good so I of course was going to get that. Since this was a bit of a drive I ordered 2 fritters. We also ordered a couple of jalapeno sausage and turkey and cheese kolaches. We added a bismark that they fill on the spot. Really?!?!? They have about 10 different fillings that they fill fresh on the spot. We so should have ordered one of each! Then just for name sake we tossed in some donut holes. First up was the apple fritter. OMG. I found it. Perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. Full of flavorful apples and cinnamon. No doubt the best I have had in Minnesota. How good was it? My wife who NEVER orders or tries the apple fritter took a chunk off of both of them. Both of them! My wife got a chocolate bismark with chocolate filling. That was also excellent. The donut was fresh and soft with rich chocolate filling. The donut holes were just as you would expect. The kolaches brought us back to Texas. The jalapeno and sausage had big jalapenos. The turkey and cheese is real turkey. Not lunch meat or processed turkey. The dough was perfect. Soft and pillowy. Service was quick and friendly. We are definitely fans of The Donut Hole. I mean is driving 45 minutes one way kind of crazy for a donut? Maybe but when that donut is the best apple fritter around and we can get some kolaches and donuts filled on the spot. Best donuts I can find in Minnesota, it's really a hole in the wall across from the Culver's in shakopee. I'm pretty sure it's a family run business and they seem to take pride in their products also extremely reasonably priced for what they offer. Almost glad not as many people know about it so that they're not always sold out of my favorite type of donuts when I go in . There fritters are the best I've ever had and the bearclaws, Cinnamon Rolls, and Sugar donuts are insane. Also the glazed donuts trump anything I've tried out of state or in the state probably the best in the country. new place for Boba smoothies! boy they are amazing you can tell their boba pearls are fresh i tried the tarro (purple) with the pearls and my niece tried the mango with the pearls. i loved the tarro. also love the prices -- 4.99 for a boba. most places my drink total is 7 dollars or more which is tough to rationalize for a treat that you drink.
