Getaway has become one of my favorite destination cafés in Minnesota and is almost always on the short list when I'm trying to decide what to do for a few hours. Whether it's an early morning motorcycle ride for coffee or an evening trip for cocktails, food trucks, and live music, it always feels worth the ride. The café was founded by riders and embraces an "All Wheels Welcome" philosophy, which is part of what makes it such a fun place to visit. The space itself is beautiful, the drinks are consistently great, and the atmosphere strikes a nice balance between being a community gathering spot and a place to relax. What really stands out, though, is the ownership. They genuinely care about building community, and it shows in everything from the events they host to the welcoming environment they've created. My only minor criticism is that, despite the name, I sometimes wish it leaned a little harder into the motorcycle and car culture side of things. It feels like it's evolved into more of a general destination café than a true motor-focused hangout. That said, it's a very small complaint, and the fact that such a wide variety of people enjoy the space is probably part of its success. What a cute spot! This cafe had such fun seasonal drinks and they were so delicious! Also tried a couple food items, turkey melt and blueberry donut, both of which were tasty and hit the spot. There was a large patio area to sit outside but unfortunately there were bees everywhere so just beware! read more

I love trying their specialty seasonal drinks, they're always creative and well-balanced. The back patio is lovely, and the indoor space is beautiful and cozy. Obsessed. That is the best way to describe my new love for this super cute and quaint café. It has a clean aesthetic and I loved the combination of modern with motorcycle (very name fitting). We stopped in at open on a Sunday morning and ordered the quiche as well as a drip coffee and a pistachio latte. Their drip coffee had a fruit like body that reminded us of blueberry and cinnamon. My pistachio latte was a 10 out of 10 I have no critiques. It was a beautifully done latte. My espresso shots were not burnt and it was creamy, and I absolutely adored, the latte art on top. The cutest and coziest coffee shop located on the main drag in Carver. If you are lucky you can snag donuts from Cardigan Donuts on the weekends, otherwise there are plenty of treats and food items to choose from. The Burnout is my favorite latte in the twin cities, caramel and cinnamon with a bruleed top, yum! Seating can be limited on a busy morning. read more

This is a fantastic new spot down town Carver for your morning treat. It is adorable. Very modern but very cozy. Such a pretty spot. It is smaller but has a great amount of seating for a small space. The service was good. They are still brand new. There may be a little learning to do but it was very efficient and the coaching was there. They will be a well-oiled machine in no time!! I ordered their vanilla latte which was so creamy and delicious. I also got a cranberry-orange scone which was so good!! My husband received their matcha latte and was impressed. Their main focus is the drinks (which they do well) they don't have a large selection or bakery goods. They have specialty donuts served on Saturdays. Nice little cocktail spot in the heart of Carver. It's a coffee shop by day, cocktail bar at night. The best of both worlds! It's on the smaller side but your typical coffee shop ambiance. We have only been here in the evening, so I can only speak to the cocktail side of things, but heard from friends that their coffee is very good. So far, we have not gotten a drink that we have not liked. You will need to stick to the menu but they have a nice variety of drinks, as well as some wines, ciders and beers. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. We recommend Getaway as a nice little spot to get a pre (or post) dinner cocktail. read more

Experience: I've come to Getaway several times since they have opened and have enjoyed getting to know the staff and regulars. I cannot think of a place that has this level of detail in coffee, cocktails, beer, tea, and everything they offer. Everything is so carefully considered - a true gem of a place. I've had a few of the IPA's on tap and they are wonderful. The old fashioned is well balanced with a little Getaway touch on top, and the drip coffee & lattes are tasty. They bring in donuts on Saturdays that are fluffy and delicious - so addicting. I can't wait to see this place in the summer with all the motorcycles and autos it will attract. Sure to be a destination for many! Space: The bathroom is spacious and has a changing table. They have a small kids bench in front of the window with books. It's a smaller building so if it's busy it can be a bit crammed, but once the patio is built and summer is here that will help a lot. If you are going to work here, the WiFi is fast and reliable. We had the Burnout and Moto Miel coffees. They were amazing! The Burnout tasted exactly like crème brûlée! The shop was quaint and small. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The cutest spot tucked in Downtown Carver. Have lived in a neighboring town for years and never knew this gem was here. When we walked in it was pretty busy, the line went fairly quick for the staff that was working only two gals. Patio was dog friendly/kid friendly with lots of high chairs.
