A friend of mine lives in the neighborhood and swears by Sovereign Grounds, so I checked it out a couple of times recently. Very pleasant environment, I could easily hang out here for long periods of time. The staff have been really nice as well. My hard-to-please friend got the Turkish lentil soup and a Turkish coffee and was content enough with them. The staff includes individuals from Türkiye, we confirmed, so I feel like they're serving up the real deal. They have a nice, loaded play area for kids which is a distinguishing touch you might appreciate. I had a decent brownie that was nicely voluminous, and my coffees have been good enough that I'll return for sure.

Sorry - only pic I have from the cafe.

There's really nothing wrong with Sovereign Ground, especially if you have kids (there's a playroom), it's just not the coffee shop for me. Upon entering it felt like a cafe I loved in college, with mismatched antique furniture, lots of students and work-from-homers on laptops, and yummy sandwiches and beverages... but then you hear a kid in the other room around the corner losing their minds and that spell is broken. If that doesn't bother you -- great -- Sovereign Coffee is definitely worth a stop, it's just not what I'm looking for.

The slide is the best part!

I've been creeping on Sovereign Grounds for quite some time now, but because it's a bit of a drive for us we haven't made it. Today was the day and I'm so glad! I went specifically for the kid play area and let me tell you--kids EVERYWHERE. If you want a quiet place to study in the later hours of the morning this may not be the place for you. I started with a plain coffee which was extremely tasty and reasonably priced. My daughter loved the play area! We split a quiche as well (why do I never remember pictures of the food? Working on it!) which was a huge hit. We will continue to go out of our way to come here for coffee and play.

This is one of my go to coffeeshop for meeting friends with kids because they have a nice selection of drinks/food/baked goods and snacks for the kiddos plus a nice size play room for the kiddos to explore and run around. This place does get fill up fast on bad weather days and the nice can bring loud from the playroom but the separate dining area to work with a view. They have a nice selection of toys for the kids to keep busy and the playroom has recently been repainted with a different murals. They have separate bathroom in the back of the playroom with a changing table and hooks for jackets and other stuff. Remember to wash your kiddos hands before and after playing in the playroom to prevent your kiddos from getting sick.

This is one of the most delightful neighborhood coffee shops the cities offers. The best price for coffee I've found as well as delightful rotating baked good items. It's not swanky like some other shops, but it's cozy and quite, perfect to get some work done (that's why so many people often have laptops) or chill and read a book for while. It's in a great area for a walk with a coffee. If you're seeking a chill spot, with good coffee; this is a must visit.

What a neat little place! The owner is very kind and makes amazing pastries and good coffee. What makes this place unique is the children's play area inside! I was able to meet a friend for coffee and our kids played while we caught up! Her daughter is two and my son is 5 and they both had fun. Food and drinks are reasonably priced (around $3 each). I would highly recommend this spot to moms with kids! I will be coming back! Note: Parking is only along the street and can be tricky.

Ended up getting the "Shamrock Shake" special because duh St. Patty's Day! Was a fun little surprise that they had a themed drink. I LOVE when people get into themes and holidays. The drink itself wasn't my favorite, but that's because it had mint in it and I am not a huge mint in my drinks person (unless it's peppermint tea), so that was totally on me. I just got too excited about themed drink. But besides the mint it was good and huge! Price is a little steep and they charge extra for alt milks, which is fair but always a bummer for my lactose intolerant ass.

I know firsthand that coffee is king in Panama, so I figured anything inspired by their incredible coffee culture had to be worth trying. I visited Curioso on an early Sunday morning and immediately found it special. Not just for its coffee, but for the ambiance, service, and overall vibe. Curioso is a large, welcoming space that's part coffee bar, part brewery. I was immediately impressed by the variety of entertainment for all ages: arcade games, pool tables, dart boards, a skee-ball machine, board games, and even claw machines. Seating options are abundant, from cozy couches to tables and high-tops. There's a toddler play area and a library filled with books for all ages. The space feels family-friendly and is warm, welcoming community gathering space for all. I noticed flyers for free community events Curioso hosts, like Sunday Morning Yoga and Tuesday Trivia nights. The service was equally warm! The barista, although managing a busy Sunday morning solo, took her time to explain coffee options, highlight weekly specials with her own recommendations, and describe the pastries in partnership with Fruit & Grain and Bagels from St. Paul Bagelry. Oat milk is the standard for all their drinks! (Which I loved) We tried two speciality lattes: the "Butter Luck Next Year" (iced) and the "Blue Ribbon Peach Pie" (hot). Both were exceptional! Strong, robust, and delicious. Alongside, we also enjoyed an "Everything" handpie and a "Blueberry Lemon Curd" pop tart. Both pastries were out of this world delicious! I loooooved this pairing. I'm a sucker for savory, so the "Everything" handpie reigned supreme for me. Although I don't have a fur-baby (yet), I would like to include that Curioso is fur-friendly. I ordered one of their seasonal specials--the banana cream pie latte. It was very good. The ambiance was OK. Smaller seating area and located in a strip mall. Although my drink was good it wasn't necessarily something to write home about. I might come here again if in the area and in need of a coffee, but probably not a place I will necessarily seek out.

Minimal decor, unfinished flooring, and no truly cozy seating made it feel less like a place you'd want to settle into for a while. While they encourage people to linger and don't offer Wi-Fi (which I respect), the ambiance doesn't quite support that intention. It felt more like a quick in-and-out stop, even though that doesn't seem to be their goal. The atmosphere was chill, with vinyl records playing in the background, which was a nice touch. The thick cut bacon had really been cooked down and the layers just went together so well. The bun was buttered and a little flaky which helped it all. The cinnamon roll was unreal. It had such a nice flaky texture that was still soft and chewy. Cinnamon rolls often rely too heavy on the icing but on this cinnamon roll it was the perfect ratio.
