Dependable but not remarkable, much like the Northeast location. The main thing is that I always like whatever coffee drink I get, so that's reason enough for me to choose Five Watt when it's in my path while I am in need of caffeine. This location has plenty of seating, including some out on the sidewalk. The decor is fun and funky. They have a display case with pastries; those will be served to you from a refrigerator and are no better than you'd get at a gas station. But I reckon you'll like their coffee drinks.

There is plenty of drink options. I was quite impressed with how lengthy the list of options were. The server was attentive. I had to come back get some napkins just in case I spilled my coffee and they directed me to where the napkins resided.

After 5 years this is still my favorite place to get coffee!!! My two favorite things are consistency of the coffee and the service ! Every time I walk in, I feel like I my tears, and if you want to be noticed you can, and if you don't want to be noticed, and you want to work, you can easily do that too! My over favorite part is all the staff that either works there currently or has worked in the past hangs out there because it's such a great group of people and such a safe place! Hard to beat a staple !

My daughter and I love to hit up Five Watt before dinner when we're dining on Eat Street. The staff a friendly and remember you, and their espresso pulls are just perfection! Street parking is surprisingly easy to find nearby, and on Mondays you can get $2 of a bag of beans.

Sweet coffee shop, fresh beans, and a nice open air indoor/outdoor situation going on for a nice early June Minneapolis afternoon. Service was nice enough, not nothing noteworthy or over the top. All in all, good cup fuel and good vibes that carried the show.

Desperately needed a coffee date with a friend of mine. She suggested this place and I was more than happy to oblige. I went in and explained I had never been there before and the batista was really helpful in suggesting just the right drink for me. After learning that they make their own syrups and bitters from scratch, I landed on the gin basil smash. It was heavenly. I paired that with a cheese croissant and it was the perfect snack. I will definitely be back here to try the other specialty drinks!

I learned that Curioso Coffee Bar's approach…read moreto sourcing beans was shaped by the founder's time in Panama, where he roasted his own coffee using beans sourced directly from local producers and sold at his café. I know firsthand that coffee is king in Panama, so I figured anything inspired by their incredible coffee culture had to be worth trying. I visited Curioso on an early Sunday morning and immediately found it special. Not just for its coffee, but for the ambiance, service, and overall vibe. Curioso is a large, welcoming space that's part coffee bar, part brewery. I was immediately impressed by the variety of entertainment for all ages: arcade games, pool tables, dart boards, a skee-ball machine, board games, and even claw machines. Seating options are abundant, from cozy couches to tables and high-tops. There's a toddler play area and a library filled with books for all ages. The space feels family-friendly and is warm, welcoming community gathering space for all. I noticed flyers for free community events Curioso hosts, like Sunday Morning Yoga and Tuesday Trivia nights. The service was equally warm! The barista, although managing a busy Sunday morning solo, took her time to explain coffee options, highlight weekly specials with her own recommendations, and describe the pastries in partnership with Fruit & Grain and Bagels from St. Paul Bagelry. Oat milk is the standard for all their drinks! (Which I loved) We tried two speciality lattes: the "Butter Luck Next Year" (iced) and the "Blue Ribbon Peach Pie" (hot). Both were exceptional! Strong, robust, and delicious. Alongside, we also enjoyed an "Everything" handpie and a "Blueberry Lemon Curd" pop tart. Both pastries were out of this world delicious! I loooooved this pairing. I'm a sucker for savory, so the "Everything" handpie reigned supreme for me. Although I don't have a fur-baby (yet), I would like to include that Curioso is fur-friendly. I'm looking forward to returning several more times!

I ordered one of their seasonal specials--the banana cream pie latte. It was very good. The ambiance was OK. Smaller seating area and located in a strip mall. Although my drink was good it wasn't necessarily something to write home about. I might come here again if in the area and in need of a coffee, but probably not a place I will necessarily seek out.

The miso cortado was delicious and really stood out, and they have a great variety of specialty drinks. The service was also extremely kind and welcoming, which I genuinely appreciated. That said, the space didn't quite live up to the hype. The location felt a little unfinished. Minimal decor, unfinished flooring, and no truly cozy seating made it feel less like a place you'd want to settle into for a while. While they encourage people to linger and don't offer Wi-Fi (which I respect), the ambiance doesn't quite support that intention. It felt more like a quick in-and-out stop, even though that doesn't seem to be their goal. The atmosphere was chill, with vinyl records playing in the background, which was a nice touch. I just wish the overall design and seating matched that relaxed, stay-awhile vibe. Great coffee and kind staff, but the space itself didn't fully align with the experience I was hoping for.

The croissant was beautiful and had a nice crispy crust but soft inside. The quiche was also delicious and was served with a small side salad. The quiche is cooked a bit less than others I've had, giving it more of a slight jiggly texture. I thought it was great! The parfait bowl was topped with seeds, fruit, and nuts, providing a really lovely texture. The yogurt was super flavorful too! Both drinks were tasty but especially my daughter's hot chocolate! Service is hit or miss. The baristas are efficient, but they're not especially warm or welcoming and don't really give off that friendly neighborhood cafe vibe. The drinks, however, are really good and are the main reason I keep coming back. They have a strong lineup of specialty lattes, and these are my favorites: Kingfield: vanilla, coriander, and black sea salt Pollinator: honey, lavender, and cardamom Busy Beaver: maple and cinnamon with molasses and black pepper Very creative, well balanced, and consistently well made. Overall, great drinks and a cool local atmosphere, but the service and upkeep could use some improvement. Still a solid spot if you're meeting friends or want a unique latte.

I saw that they had a Northeast Fog on the menu (with coriander and fennel), but I got my usual with lavender, vanilla, and extra foam. I also ordered an Almond Croissant. It took a few minutes (because they took their time with a good steep). The London Fog was very good, the right temperature and a nice creamy layer of foam. The Almond Croissant was nothing short of amazing. Along with the vanilla paste, they added extra toasted almonds inside. So yummy. Some of the areas (including the bathroom) could use some TLC. It was good service as well, came right out wrapped and ready to roll. When I got home I heated up the pastry and the feast was on. The thick cut bacon had really been cooked down and the layers just went together so well. The bun was buttered and a little flaky which helped it all. The cinnamon roll was unreal.
