    Delightful coffee and pastry.

Cool little coffee shop in an abandoned mall, Seven Points, formerly known as Calhoun Square. It's an abandoned mall except for the gym, LA Fitness which I go to. I always noticed this other tenant, Curioso Coffee bar....but I never got around to try it.. 'till today! This morning, I had time before a fitness class , so I stopped by. The coffee and pastry was exceptional! Plus furry friends are welcome here, too! See Photo. I think I'll be a regular here as long as I go to the gym in this mall.

This place is awesome! It's got a retro vibe with all the pinball machines, many lounge areas to chill with friends, great backyard outdoor seating and it's definitely got the ambience and atmosphere to feel cozy, hip, and creative. The coffee was excellent! I loved the shaken not stirred cold brew latte and even bought a growler of their cold brew. I came back the same week and got an americano and my goodness it slaps again. Check this place out!! It's so unique and harbors community so well in it.

I was excited to try Curioso after seeing so many amazing reviews. We must've come on an off day because we didn't have a great experience. We came to the Uptown location and the barista kind of rubbed us the wrong way from the start. She seemed pretty scatter-brained and honestly a little over-caffeinated (jittery, rapid speech, distractible, losing train of thought mid sentence)...it was awkward even attempting to have a regular conversation with her. She was clearly flustered because she said they ran out of certain coffee beans and were not able to make any drinks with espresso. This was a little surprising since it was a Saturday afternoon, probably one of their busier days. She also told us we could only order iced drinks as she was unable to make any hot drinks at the moment. She could've left it at that, but instead went into a story about how the owners are out of town and left her without much support to keep things running smoothly. My friend and I attempted to order our drinks but the barista kept over-complicating the orders; she had conversations for at least 5 mins with each of us about exactly how we wanted the drink to be made. For example, I just ordered an iced matcha latte. She then started telling me about how their matcha drinks are more bitter than most places and asked if I wanted an adjustment to make it sweeter. I said sure, then she asked me about specific ways to adjust it. I'm not picky--I just wanted a matcha drink. After finally getting our orders, she said the coffee beans were delivered and now we could order espresso drinks. We didn't even bother to adjust our order after how long it took to finally get on the same page. The whole encounter was just very odd and rubbed us the wrong way. Luckily, the drinks themselves were quite good and satisfied our cravings. I would've given 2 stars based on the overall experience but am choosing a 3 since the coffee actually was solid. I wish we had better service and could have ordered anything from the menu instead of being so limited, but the main issue was definitely the barista we had.

Hard to find parking around the area but they do have a coffee sign out front so it made it easy to find. They roast their beans in house. And you can tell, the beans are very creamy almost chocolatey not sour and bitter Aaron one of the owners was here when I was ordering, he helped me out and was very kind to me. And made small talk that made my day. It has an open area that goes into a mall and you can walk around. Overall would recommend to everyone! I will be coming back when I'm in the area.

I have nothing but good things to say about Curioso. I love that their default is oat milk and that the price you see is the price you get. It's flat pricing to include tax. I also appreciate that they give every opportunity to make their coffee drinks affordable and accessible. Everything they do is for sustainability, so if you bring in your own cup OR drink it "for here" you get $1 off your drink! They also offer a happy hour Saturday & Sunday mornings for $2 off your drinks as well. DRINKS: The ginger snap latte was absolutely delicious. They make all of the syrups in house and are so flavorful. SERVICE: Everyone who works here is so kind and they really do it for the love and passion of the community. Good people all around. They source everything local as well or make it themselves. ATMOSPHERE: It's so nice and bright and in a very open space. The "lounge" is a great place to work remotely or study. Please check this place out!

I've never had such friendly baristas at a coffee shop! They were great. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon with a live music band playing inside. There's a small seating area to the side with lots of light so it would be the perfect place to meet someone at. Im not sure if the chai is made in house but it was delicious and they use oat milk as the default! The food selection was limited in the fridge case. There's only a couple of street parking spots a block off but it's on a nice block to walk.

Delicious drinks. The coffee and chai perfect. The building is nice and simply just great.

Great coffee and espresso drinks. Made with Oat milk which at first sounded strange but now I absolutely crave. Hand crafted with a manual espresso shot maker. Check it out when you order - very cool. Staff are extremely friendly. Very dog friendly, even inside.

You gotta come in and meet Luke, the owner. Enjoy all natural hand-cranked coffee. Support a local entrepreneur!

Super super good coffee!! The iced coffee was perfectly blended and I adored the atmosphere! I also got some beans to bring home with me. I also also loved the fact that they are a business with an emphasis on sustainability!

Hand pressed espresso. My video would not upload so this will give you a view of your hand pressed espresso.

The miso cortado was delicious and really stood out, and they have a great variety of specialty drinks. The service was also extremely kind and welcoming, which I genuinely appreciated. That said, the space didn't quite live up to the hype. The location felt a little unfinished. Minimal decor, unfinished flooring, and no truly cozy seating made it feel less like a place you'd want to settle into for a while. While they encourage people to linger and don't offer Wi-Fi (which I respect), the ambiance doesn't quite support that intention. It felt more like a quick in-and-out stop, even though that doesn't seem to be their goal. The atmosphere was chill, with vinyl records playing in the background, which was a nice touch. I just wish the overall design and seating matched that relaxed, stay-awhile vibe. Great coffee and kind staff, but the space itself didn't fully align with the experience I was hoping for.

They have a lot of super intriguing drinks that I can't wait to get back and try, but I had to have the black coffee for my first stop. They only do pour overs and mine was great. And so were the beans I took home. It's really nice to see a coffee shop that cares about their beans more than syrupy drinks. The shop itself is small but has some nice seating options. One thing to note is that they don't have WiFi so this place isn't really meant for the work from home crowd. I can't wait to get back here

The only downside or thing to know is that this location will not accept Spyhouse giftcards because it is part of the hotel. I came wanting to use one, so this was a bummer but I understand and the barista was very apologetic. As a side note about the business, it's impossible to check your giftcard balance online. I came in the middle of the day, so there were only a few tables occupied, so it was very calm--balm for these times. The house that the coffee shop is in is beautifully preserved--anyone who has been in a home of this area and era will immediately recognize its characteristics. It feels an awful lot like walking into that house where you spent so much time when you were growing up. From the tile in the bathroom, to the ceiling, to the layout, to the dark wood, it's like walking smack into your childhood safe place. The coffee is absolutely delicious (and the espresso machine pretty as can be). Smooth as silk and without a hint of bitterness, it's just as comforting as the environment and just as pleasant as the wonderful person who served it. Absolutely recommend this place. So when I passed the sign here that said "Warm Scones, Great Chai", I knew I had to try it! It's located kitty-corner from Isles Bun & Coffee, so you can always pick up more pastries from there after if you're not feeling like having a scone. We were the first customers of the day, and the gentleman that opened the door for us was very friendly. I think the interior was very cute, it was very cozy and has a homey vibe, but with seating that looked like it was from a Marie Calendars or Bakers Square. It was super quiet in there, no background music. I was kind of afraid to talk and felt like I should whisper like I was in a library. I got the Uncommon Chai and a chai scone. While the scone was ok, the chai was underwhelming. It just tasted like hot milk with a sprinkle of chai flavors somewhere in there. I could barely taste any cardamom, cinnamon or clove as is common in chai. I would say this is probably a MN interpretation of chai, definitely not authentic. Kind of like my family's former Chinese restaurant in southern MN. Not authentic, but rather a Midwest version of Chinese food. The cafe is in an old house, so this place is not wheelchair accessible from what I could see.
