Nothing like waking up on a Sunday morning with no plans, seeing a Tiktok about a coffee shop you haven't heard of, and spontaneously going there for an awesome cup of coffee. That Tiktok might have been AIGC but the people here are very human and have turned what was probably the husk of a fast food joint and made it cozy. It looks like if a small regional airport were determined to create an airport lounge out of an unused corner of the terminal. But I've never had coffee this good at an airport lounge, and I've been to several American Express Centurion Lounges. I got a White Macadamia, and it had a very pleasant sweetness without masking the great flavor of this coffee, which they proudly roast in-house. You can buy their beans in bulk, and that seems like a very good idea! I also grabbed a muffin from the day-old discount tray, and because it was early that thing could have passed for fresh. Loved it, and I'd love to come back and try some of the other baked goods on their rack. Awesome coffee, very friendly staff, will definitely return! read more

Hidden gem near the Augsburg campus and Children's Hospital. Code blue coffee is known for their roasting and brewing their own coffee beans. they have a huge section of beans that they roasted fresh that you can buy. as a line of construction workers this must be a great place for cold brew coffee. Everybody had an iced coffee in their hand when they were leaving I felt like one of the old school just got a classic black coffee. I'm a fan of their house blend. It's a medium roast that I think is better than most other house blend coffees. My other recommendation is their cappuccinos. They are strong in a good coffee forward flavor setting. They normally make them very dry unless you ask them differently. The ambience is very get in and get out kind of feel. there is a small sitting area but it's kind of more reserved for people doing work or being quiet. Overall, the coffee is really good and I would definitely seek out this location ! read more

CodeBlu is consistently the best coffee place in Minneapolis. I've tried every single other coffee shop or cafe in a mile radius and as of 2025 CodeBlu holds the top for the ABSOLUTE BEST coffee. If you want beans, get them here. They roast them fresh every few weeks. My favorite flavor is just the house blend. Makes incredible coffee. Baristas are friendly and talkative. This place has a community like no other. People are constantly streaming in and talking and yapping. For getting some work done or doing some studying, there's no better place. Comfy chairs, amazing coffee, and a fairly quiet place make it ideal for that kind of thing. They also have a rule against using speaker phone, which helps with some people yapping it up on a loud phone. 100/10 recommend. Give these guys your business, check it out! read more

It is a pretty small place with just a few tables. Not the most aesthetic and vibey coffee shop out of my series, but nonetheless, I think it would still be a great spot to get work done. I however, just got my iced turtle latte ($5.25) to go before heading off to work. They have a bunch of classics like frappes, lattes, drip, etc. And my personal favs, turtle and zebra flavors! I love a good mocha with caramel. The drink was definitely strong and kept me going the whole day, and I only got a small! Super delicious and refreshing. They are a bit pricer than other coffee shops in the cities, but super tasty. In all, 5/5 for coffee, 3/5 for price, and 4/5 for aesthetic. read more

I came across this as I was in thr area and wanted coffee. This is a very small little place so if you are at all nervous about covid be prepared it's single line in and you go the same way out. You are very nice I ordered a large iced mint mocha it is a stronger coffee flavor but it's really good I love that they have the half-and-half old and different versions of sweetener including a stevia THM approved sweetener which is awesome. As a grad student, I'm always on the lookout for prime places to get some work done--and for a place that has a lowkey atmosphere. Code Blu hits both of those targets. The guys behind the counter could not have been friendlier and there is a very large selection of beverages to choose from. The smell of freshly roasted coffee isn't too bad either! I stuck with whatever coffee they had on tap (is that a thing--maybe I'm getting coffee and beer confused) which was excellent and grabbed a donut as well. A little later, I ordered a large chai and had a So I Married an Axe Murderer moment when this giant chai stein was brought to my table. Holy cow it was huge! (Side note: if you haven't seen that movie go do it now). This shop with its small, yet cozy interior was the perfect place to knock out some homework and enjoy a cup of coffee. Wowowow! We walked here across the river from our Airbnb through a beautiful safe neighborhood. The door in was a little confusing but we found our way in. Slow evening, one man working who was patient with our need to gawk at the menu. We decided on iced house special espresso drinks. Our favorite part, a medium gets 4.5 shots in it!! What a cute place!! Code Blu Coffee is right next to Zipps Liquor in the space that used to be Emilio's. They open at 7am which was perfect for me and beau since we were headed up north bright and early. The space is really nice and cozy. It's a dark decor with plenty of seating and beautiful windows that face out to Franklin. A perfect people watching spot! They have a fairly extensive menu with a variety of flavors available for drinks. Depending on what you get it's not pricey, and cheaper than some other spots in the area. With four sizes and the ability to use your own mug (which we did), you have a lot of options. The coffee itself is solid and the chai tea is a good blend of spice. It's a bit on the sweeter side but no where near the level of sugar of chain coffee shops. They also have a good assortment of biscotti, pastries, yogurt and pop. So of course we got donuts because it just goes with coffee! Beau got an apple fritter and I a salted caramel donut. OMG. Talk about delicious. My donut had caramel, peanuts and drizzled chocolate. It was really delicious ya'll. The apple fritter couldn't compare in my opinion but beau would take it any day. Came here for a regular black coffee to catch up with a friend and got an apple fritter since their small selection of bakery items looked appealing. Was all worth the price I paid. The coffee was pretty good and based on the taste and price I would definitely return since it isn't too far away. The apple fritter was a good unhealthy snack to finish the week with between lunch and dinner. They had 1/2 price day old bakery as well which I would definitely check out next time. This seems more like a summer spot since you can sit outside and there is minimal seating outside. If you don't mind sitting next to a stranger, it's a good spot. Other than that, there are maybe 10 seats total inside and isn't a great place to stay and chat or study for long periods of time. The outside of the building is super cute with bright blue paint. The inside is also aesthetically pleasing with stain glass on the windows. Really cozy place, I just wish it was bigger! read more
