Kung Fu Tea in Dinkytown is a solid spot for bubble tea, especially their Brown Sugar Milk Tea--rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Service is quick, and the staff is friendly. It gets busy, but they handle it well. Limited seating, so it's best for grab-and-go. Great quality for the price!

Drinks were delicious and the employee taking our order was patient as we decided what drink modifications we wanted to make. Bonus: the current collab they have going on with Strawberry Shortcake is SO good! We tried the Strawberry Shortcake Delight and if you love fruity flavors and matcha you will think the same too!

Grapefruit yakult -a little sweet. A little sour. Slightly creamy. Mango jelly add on. The drink has plenty of pulp bits. Love the mango bits. Kung fu tea isn't my go to. I digg this drink though.

I got the Cocoa Wow . It's one of the best bubble teas I have had anywhere (including Frisco and NY).

I don't like beans in my drinks, not even MUNG FU If you brought the tea, it's already been BRUNG FU If you're seventeen, sorry bae, but you're too YOUNG FU But if you want Lemon Black Tea, you come to KUNG FU! It makes some of the rivals taste like eating cow DUNG FU It's at the top of the ladder, while you're on the lowest RUNG FU You'll love if you're easy going, even highly STRUNG FU So if you want a Lemon Black Tea, you come to KUNG FU I tasted it and screamed so loud that I collapsed a LUNG FU I carried on screaming and sounded like Angus YOUNG FU They played Sting on the radio, but I'm already STUNG FU By the wondrous Lemon Black Tea they serve at KUNG FU I went to the toilet, opened Snapchat, then I SUNG FU Came back, took my pants off, and the girls yelled "HUNG FU!" In walked Barbie and immediately I'm SPRUNG FU And you should come and get a Lemon Black Tea from KUNG FU! WHAT What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! Generally speaking, Kung Fu Tea scores 5, but it's usually a low 5, considering that it's a massive international corporate chain, whose milk teas don't match up to the best chains: Sharetea, Gong Cha and Coco. However, they're still really good, and the fruit teas here are among the best. Especially the lemon black tea which absolutely rocks my world. If it's not on the menu, demand it! Other fruit teas (Berry, Orange, Grapefruit) must also be ordered off-menu as Black Tea instead of the meh Green. Also the Lemon Black tastes good as a Lemon Oolong, but everyone else hates it because they have bad taste. The funny thing is that as far as I know there are only two Kung Fu tea locations in Minnesota and they are within a couple of blocks of each other. I have no idea if they're owned by the same people but I got the feeling that they were not. They could not be more different and yet both of them are completely different to most other locations. The other location you will barely be able to move when it's busy. There's no table seating and just some stools around the side which are usually full. They're also extremely friendly. This location on the other hand has a decent amount of seating. They share their space with a restaurant that serves Chinese hot pot. The owners of the restaurant are also the owners of this franchise location of kung fu tea. They make an excellent lemon black tea that is very tasty and has good Boba and pretty much hits all the notes that you want a lemon black tea to hit. They were friendly especially the girl working here and I'm a big fan. I would definitely come back again and get lemon black tea in the future. Anyway, since they share their space with a yummy restaurant, let's get some food to go with our Bubble Teas. I'm feeling kung-ry.

The taro bubble tea was yummy and the employees were nice and helpful. They explained how to earn rewards on their app.

I really don't like to give 1 star but the serve was just HORRIBLE and the drinks were watery that I felt like this was the most fair from my experience. If you want good service and boba/bubble tea in Dinkytown I suggest checking out Chat time or Feng Cha Teahouse instead. A major disappointment that I didn't like this place. Since this place is inside with a hot pot place it was very loud and definitely not an ideal place to study or do work. When we walked in and up to the counter to order the cashier didn't even greet us, she just stared (had major RBF) then yelled "what do you want?". I asked her "excuse me, give me a few minutes to decide". I then asked her if I could mix two flavors (honey and lemon) and she yelled no- so apparently you can't choose or make your own two flavors here. I ended up ordering an iced lemon green tea and the iced Kungfu milk tea- both with tapioca pearls. The pearls were hard and both of the drinks were watery. I think I'll stick to other better boba places in the Twin Cities, with good service and drinks! Tip- pretty much only metered parking (daily from 8am-10pm) because it's in Dinkytown. There is a ramp nearby with an hourly fee if you place to explore other places in the area. Otherwise there is bus 2, 3, and 6 that comes by often.

I thought about just giving a solid three stars. But let's settle with a low four. Here's the ups and downs Fu: Location: The Ups: Right down in Dinkytown, near a lot of other stores and businesses. The Downs: metered parking, unless you can get away with having your friend wait in the car as a "getaway driver", however I suggest for the getaway driver not to wear a ski mask, there's a TCF bank across the street and down a block. Tea: The Ups: I got the Thai Tea, the flavor was a very rich Thai tea The Downs: seemed a bit watery, which if you read other reviews this seems to be a common thread. Boba: The Ups: However you like to refer to them as, boba, pearls or just bubs, they were pleasant. Must have been a fresh batch since they were a little on the softer side. However, I actually like them a bit harder Fu. The Downs: They kind of skimped, there could have been double the amount, after all I am paying for them.

This bubble tea place is in with Lepot hot pot, so you can get bubble tea to have with your meal if you want you just have to walk up to the counter and order and bring it back to your table. I had the passion fruit green tea with mango popping bubbles. I get the same thing at every place to compare and this is one of the best I've had. They have the smaller popping boba which I like and they had a good consistency. The tea was the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. Overall I would recommend this bubble tea place.

Finally another Kung Fu Tea has opened up in Minnesota. This time in Dinkytown, less than a mile away from the other one! Kung fu tea is my favorite boba shop in the twin cities because they have the best boba in terms of chewiness and sweetness. All other boba places are either super hard or are tasteless or not chewy at all. Kung Fu Tea is a chain, but the two locations in minneapolis are a little different than the other ones. They don't take the app and they have their own VIP system. VIP system benefits include upgrade to free large size. I'm not going too deep in the history this time, but boba here is some of the best you're going to find in Minnesota. It's on par with many top places in California. As far as tea, some people don't like it, but I like their milk tea and the milk green tea and wow milk. My favorite go-to drink is the Kung fu milk green tea with boba and the Red Wow, which is lactaid milk + red bean + boba. Check this place out if you want the most authentic boba pearls in the state.

COCOA CREAM WOW / ------ THAI MILK TEA

Get the "Thai" Milk Tea if you like mouth drying bitterness (at 100% sweetness) and do not want your Thai tea to taste like... a Thai tea. My friend got the Cocoa Cream "Chai" Milk Tea, she recommends it if you want a drink that tastes exactly like milk but not milk and pay $$$ for it. And "that's just how it is". ‍

Busy as it's located in Dinkytown area. Located within the Le Pot restaurant. Metered street parking. Lots of choices for drinks. They have a small section with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy. Ordered the new flavor wintermelon with coconut milk milk tea with regular sweet level. Not too bad, a bit kind of too sweet for me though.

I also picked up a cheddar frittata to take home, and the staff gave me simple instructions on how to reheat it -- it turned out great. If this company has cameras with audio, I would encourage them to listen back to order 6525 that was placed today, March 19th, 2026 around 5:45 PM. I came to support this establishment because I have yet to do so since the opening, and was excited to contribute to the success of a black owned business. The grounds were clean, and the music was a vibe. I placed my order at the Kiosk, and paid nearly $25 for a $9 juice and $10 smoothie with tax. Both products were wonderful. However, that's not my concern. The service was without a doubt unprofessional and uncomfortable. The man serving the community today began to chat with me, catching up because we were familiar with one another from my previous employer. After asking where I was working now, he began to solicit me with job opportunities within Life Juices and on his own personal product line, offering me $500 to assist him with marketing. (Mind you, this is very similar to the conversation we had when I met him the first time, he let me know then that he's co-owner of Life Juices and also offered me job opportunities.) When I declined, he asked why do "black women" act like this or that (I don't remember exactly what was said) At this point, I'm annoyed and offended. After I respectfully read him his rights, I told him I don't want him to make my juice and I'd like my money back. He randomly referred to himself as a Pharaoh and let me know that he would begin making my order. As I'm waiting for my order, two other patrons walk up to place an order. The man serving took this as an opportunity to poke fun at me with one of them, saying I don't recognize a Pharaoh when I see one, and dapping up the stud. Now, I did my best to be a good sport. They began to joke that I don't even know what Pharaoh means. I decide that I'm not going to pay attention anymore. As I bend down to give my three year old juice, the patron leaned over to ask "do you know what pharaoh mean" I responded and said "it means King". She then returned to the conversation with the man working discussing how women need to do better when they see a Pharaoh (that's just a paraphrase) Now if you get a chance to listen to the audio, I was referred to out of my name during this conversation (meaning the b word) and I'm trying to figure out how did we get here when I just came to order some juice that I didn't even want in the first place- just supporting a local business. SMH I'm so upset, honestly. The audacity of these people to refer to me out of my name in front of my three year old son was so distasteful. The audacity to include this random patron that I don't know to poke fun at any person, but me..? a person who just supported your establishment. All because I declined your advances? If you're reading this, shame on you. Do better.

Contrary, the University area does not allow for a relaxing environment so this is a spot that I will forever grab and go. I appreciate what Life Juices is doing after revamping a run down Dairy Queen into a healthy storefront. Highlights include hand made items which take a little extra time so you know it's fresh, side patio with plants and small herb garden along with some colorful Adirondack chairs and unique items with a food menu in progress. Sadly, I had 1 homeless person ask me to buy items and it ruined the vibe. In addition, there were questionable activities happening while I awaited my order. Ordering is done on a kiosk with a vast array of choices from pressed juices to smoothie bowls to smoothies. I opted for a peanut butter protein shake with dates and it was so good! I also purchased 3 pressed juices. Each item is almost $10 and then there were $6 taxes? I thought food was tax free? Regardless, I'm finding out that eating healthy in general, is more expensive. I hope Life Juices is able to attract the population it wants as the area for me, is the wrong one but right product. I'll be back!
