Code Blu is a fantastic Seward coffee destination. I go a few times a week. I love the caramel macchiato (way better than Starbucks!) or the straight cold brew or iced chai. The coffee is strong and sweet and they roast their own beans! I always buy my beans from them. They have Grandmas Bakery treats, or Jimmy Dean sandwiches or frozen burritos if you want something to eat with your coffee. I wanted to like this place but the coffee was so burnt tasting it was undrinkable. We got a cold brew and regular drip coffee, took about two sips out of both and dumped the coffee and recycled the containers. Ah well. read more

Code Blu Coffee is a hidden gem in the Seward neighborhood. I googled coffee shops in the Seward area and Code Blu popped up. Luckily, it's right across my gym so the convenience is a perk. It's located in a really nice/accessible area. The staff are absolutely amazing and goes above and beyond to make a customer happy. They create a welcoming environment. They seem to enjoy curating drinks that fits your needs as well which is awesome. The drink itself is delicious. The first one I've tried is the White Chocolate frapp and have ordered it 4x now after I discovered it. Looking forward trying some new suggestions from them :) The ambience is great. The space is a little small but it's extremely cozy. I love coming here to do my work. Great ambience, delicious coffee, and wonderful staff = Returning customer. Love this cute little corner coffee shop! The roast is pretty dark, even the light roast coffee would be considered medium or dark at other places, I love darker roasted coffee so this is not an issue for me. Staff are friendly and know an impressive amount about the coffee industry. Atmosphere is quiet and would be conducive to getting work done. Great coffee shop reminiscent of classic urban coffee shops I grew up around, with an appealing aesthetic and calm atmosphere. The seating area is nice, good for people with laptops looking to study/work, or for people who just want to have a chat. The coffee and tea are amazing and the owners are extremely friendly and passionate about their craft, and they always recognize their customers and pleasant to have conversation with. Coffee is fine, but barista was not practicing sanitary safety measures. The barista had a filthy cloth face cover pulled under their chin; during my five minutes in the store they never once used to cover their mouth or nose. No gloves or hand washing either. Zero enforcement of social distancing between customers. I felt extremely uncomfortable, practices like that will make people sick and send us all back to lockdown. read more

I came in here by chance & had the best experience! The owner was so welcoming and humble. Not to mention the coffee is AMAZING!! This coffee is like Caribou on crack... stronger & the perfect amount of sweetness. I tried the white turtle mocha & it was the best thing ever. We also tried the turtle mocha & regular mocha. All were great! You can't go wrong here. I recommend this place to everyone. It's a cute little shop. Perfect for studying, or grabbing a delicious coffee with a friend. Or an every day coffee place. New business in town! I'm excited that Seward has a new coffee shop, and I'm glad it's this place. Great cozy little coffee shop with all of the basic (and some unique) coffee shop drinks that you'd want. They roast their own coffee beans there and you can buy beans for reasonable prices (definitely cheaper than some of the other local places). The owners are friendly and helpful. "Yoooo! There's a coffee shop by Los! And they say they have strong coffee!" That was my initial reaction when I drove past Code Blu. The next morning, I swung by after a work out to check it out. Here's what you need to know: 1) The coffee IS strong. Very flavorful and compares well against other top shops in Minneapolis. 2) Dan is the man! The owner Dan has a customer first mentality and get to know regulars and makes sure you get what you want. No questions asked. 3) We need coffee in the Seward neighborhood! Met with a kind hello, I ordered the light roast w/ cream and two donuts. Coffee was excellent. Plain raised glazed, BEST IN CITY and apple fritter was very good. I will def be back. It was cool how owner/clerk knew some of the patrons and checked in on each other. Nice place to hang out, if for me, the chairs were a little more comfortable for larger people. I also have short legs and did not see any regular seating, only bar stool type. read more

Super friendly service! They are very welcoming and get you your drink really fast without making you feel rushed. The coffee is amazing and the espresso drinks are perfectly balanced. This is my go to café for coffee in all its forms. I get all my whole bean coffee here, the price and quality of roast can't be beat! They roast in house, and are very precise with their roasting times. Baristas know their trade, and are masters of espresso drinks. Cappuccino Italiano, or Espresso Macchiato is my favorite and both are perfect. Staff are extremely accommodating as well, if anythings awry, they've got a solution. read more

I had a good experience at the Code Blue Coffee place. The Card Reader was working a bit funky. luckily the barista knew of the issue and swiped my card correctly. I had the "All American" coffee drink to go. it was super delicious, I would come back more if the card reader was fixed or replaced or I came with cash. read more

I enjoy a cup or two of chai and for me, Code Blu, has the best chai lattes that I can think of in the Twin Cities. I love the customer service which I feel is more like a home away from home. Dan and John are the owners and they are so welcoming and provide more than just a simple experience. You truly get to have great conversations while enjoying your chai latte or coffee (for those who enjoy it). The space is very cozy and though it is small, it feels homey and the ambiance is the best I've seen. I would recommend this spot to anyone in a heart beat. This place is super amazing, 10/10 would recommend. Every time I've gone they are super friendly. Every time I've ordered something they've told me if I didn't like my drink they would make me another one for free; every time my drink was great though. I just went to Code Blu for the first time and had a great experience. My partner has been to there a few times and he really likes it so we stopped there tonight. I wasn't sure what I wanted because I'm not a big coffee drinker. I asked for something that didn't have too much caffeine, was creamy and a little sweet....but not too sweet. The owner was super nice and helpful explaining to me the different types of coffee and coffee drinks. The coffee drink he made me was delicious and the ambience in the coffee shop was spot on....relaxing and with accent lightening of cool blue tones....so not super bright and annoying.
