The servers are nice but the pastries are not good. I would not recommend coming here if you're looking for the best cinnamon roll.

Isles Bun is a great coffee shop to go to before or after a walk around Lake of the Isles, or whenever. I've been here twice with different friends and haven't been disappointed. Both times I've had lattes but yesterday my friend and I each got a puppy dog tail. They gave us 1.5 tails for the price of 1 at $2/each! The puppy dog tails are the perfect size if you want a smaller version of a cinnamon roll. The only drawback is that the line can be long. With the colder weather, I expect the line will be shorter. We noticed a lot of people got to-go orders, which will cut down on the time in line and make finding seating easier. Once we were inside, service was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to going back, possibly during the week when it's less busy!

My son dropped a couple cinnamon rolls off as a surprise. He asked for minimum icing, which was appreciated. We thought they were delicious and a great treat.

My son used to live near this place and he told me to check it out when I was in Minneapolis. From the lines outside the building you'd have to believe this place was special. Well I had the Carmel Pecan Bun and I wasn't that impressed. Tasty but a bit dry. Was impressed with the size and the amount of pecans and carmel, just expected more from the bun part. When I talked to my son he said I screwed up, because the cinnamon rolls are amazing. Guess I'll try that next time!

This place is known for their cinnamon rolls and puppy dog tails (aka cinnamon twists). They also have scones, muffins, cookies and biscotti. We came at a good time because there were only a few people in front of us when we arrived. After we ordered, we saw that the line went out the door! Apparently this place is super popular. There's a good amount of seating inside, but it seems that most people just order to go. I got the caramel sticky bun. It was good, but I've had better. I wouldn't consider waiting in a super long line for it. Baristas take an awful long time to make drinks. I saw one lady get mad because our drinks came before hers and she was waiting longer than we were.

Stopped by here on a friend's recommendation while I was in town. I got there around 11 on a Sunday and ended up waiting outside for about 25 minutes before getting in. Clearly this place is loved by a lot of people. I ordered the cinnamon roll and the daily scone, which happened to be chive and cheese, and both were fantastic. The staff was kind and the vibe inside is simple and relaxed. There is seating for maybe 20-25 people, so it feels cozy without being cramped. I would absolutely stop in again the next time I am in town.

This has been a favorite place of mine for years now but lately the quality just doesn't seem to be the same as it use to. I ended up getting a cinnamon roll to go and was disappointed when I got home to see that it had barely any cinnamon in it. It tasted like white bread with frosting on it for $7 I was pretty bummed out.

Ordered: Cinnamon Bun (~$7) Caramel Sticky Bun (~$7) Aya's take: If the delicious smell of cinnamon doesn't guide you here, you will definitely see the long line of people waiting outside. It was around 11am on a Sunday and we waited a little over 40 minutes total. We got lucky because as a fresh batch of buns came out as we were about to order! The Cinnamon Bun was massive, the cream on top was to die for, and the steam alluded to the freshness! The Caramel Sticky Bun was on the sweeter side but was just as soft, warm, and fresh as the Cinnamon Bun. Of the two, I favored the Cinnamon Bun a little more mainly because of the cream on top that just took each bite to the next level. If you're in Minneapolis, definitely swing by!

Phone eats second at Isles Bun & Coffee! This place is sooo good. I'm rarely in uptown, but when I am I always stop here! You really can't choose wrong on the menu. I've lived every item I've ever tried. Recommendations are puppy tails, coffee cake & Carmel/cinnamon rolls. Service is always kind and prompt - this is a hot spot for pastries & it's usually very busy! But trust, it's worth the line. Inside, there's seating, wifi and a nice cafe vibe. Parking can be tricky, there's no parking lot here. In the summer there's a sidewalk patio with umbrellas too, which is nice!

I've been hearing great things about Isles for years. I stopped by and tried their cinnamon bun and the puppy dog tail. The cinnamon bun was incredible! It had the perfect amount of each ingredient, it didn't taste overly sweet and the dough had a nice tangy flavor. I didn't think the puppy dog tail was nearly as good so i think i would skip that next time. I loved the americano too, it was a good price. All of the workers were very friendly and helpful.

That cream on the cinnamon roll though!

Isles Bun & Coffee is often rated as "Best Cinnamon Roll", and I can understand why there's a line down the block. The real star of the roll was that whipped cream! This isn't your average canned whipped cream and actually had some depth to it! I was a little thrown off by $7 for a medium iced vanilla latte, but look at it like a regular overpriced coffee shop with great baked goods and you'll be fine.

It's without a doubt that you will have to stand in line when coming to Isles bun & coffee but I promise it's worth it! The line goes relatively quickly and it also gives you time to ponder on how many baked goods you'll purchase this trip. The inside is very accommodating with free WiFi so if you want to sit and inhale your cinnamon roll or coffee, you can do so free of judgement! We always get at least one cinnamon roll and one caramel roll so we can have the best of both worlds. Love that you can watch them bake all of the goods behind the counter and the portion sizes are huge! No matter what, everyone's cheery and welcoming, love the open space and we came when the adjoining market was open so it was also nice to walk through there after grabbing our yummies

A box of six with a generous cup (yes cup) of frosting!

Wow! Huge Cinnabon Buns! And it's very delicious ... sinfully delicious! There's usually a long line, just be patient as it goes fast. The staff are friendly, on top of things (including your drink) and mind you, generous on the icing! A great place to have coffee (or tea) solo or to catchup with friends in a casual outdoor or indoor setting. Sitting outside feels like you're in a coffee shop in Europe (at least we can dream)! Worth at least a visit and get ready to take home a portion of it as they are huge buns! They do have scones and other stuff

I attended solo but luckily really liked the group I was assigned to. We wanted everyone to work on things they enjoy and allowed everyone to try some parts of the important tasks (making pasta and pastry dough). Your enjoyment might really depend on what your group is like. You can buy wine and beer to drink while you take the class, and those were reasonably priced I thought! $9 for a glass of wine and I think $8 for beer. The class was chaotic since we were making three courses and things needed to be done at different times, but the chaos felt like how it really is in a kitchen making multi course menus, so that didn't bother me! The assistants were great and helped us stay on track and helped if we were struggling with anything. I can't say I learned much from the class (which is why I only gave 4 stars), but I sure had a lot of fun!
