Impossible sausage breakfast sandwich

Not going to lie this was a bit disappointing. Ordered the impossible breakfast sausage with no egg... could've replaced it with avocado, more sausage anything else as a filler instead of giving me this empty sandwich

The front of the building, they do have a drive thru

Met here with a friend to catch up after he suggested it! What a fun little hidden gem in Bloomington! The vibes is cozy and relaxed. There are different seat options whether you want to sit in a booth, comfy chair or regular table. There is also a drive thru if you are on the go! They do have free Wi-Fi here, you just need to ask up front for the password. The staff was friendly and they brought our drinks out to us in our chairs, so we didn't have to stand around. I'm not sure if that still happens when it gets busier. I got an iced chai tea and it was soooo good! The notes of vanilla and cinnamon would make this a perfect fall drink! But I'll happily get it anytime! I love with the hot drinks the adorable little monkey!! They have options with flavor shots and I'd be willing to come back and try those! They also have some food but I didn't give those a try today. Overall, I'd happily come back here over a Caribou (gasp, I know fellow Minnesotans, I said what I said lol) They have a fire place and I can only imagine how extra cozy it gets when it's turned on!

What a wonderful independently owned coffee shop!!! West Side Perk is a hidden gem in West Bloomington. You can always count on good service and baked goods here. If your looking for a place to hang out there is plenty of seating and a fire place as well, which I think every coffee shop should have. See you next time West Side Perk.

Cold brew

I ordered the cold brew, it was slightly bitter, hitting that it was over brewed. I also got a croissant that was very mediocre. Taste store bought and not fresh. Price was fair. Probably won't be back.

I had a very pleasant experience at West Side Perk. I was looking for somewhere quiet to read and kill some time; this small coffee shop was just the spot. Staff was really friendly and my chai tea latte was really good, a little too sweet, but good. When I first arrived there were maybe 4 other folks here, but shortly thereafter the not so spacious space was filled to the brim. The noise level wasn't a bother even with that many people. Seems like this would be a good place to study/get some work done as well. I didn't try any of the baked goods, but they had an assortment for sale among other soups and sandwiches. There is no restroom inside the coffee shop proper, rather they are located in the lobby of the building as this shop is housed in a sort of strip mall. Very homey feel. I especially liked the nice comfy chairs by the fireplace. I would definitely go back.

A remarkable coffee house to write home about! The unassuming strip mall facade might fool you underestimate what's inside. The amazing scent upon entering reassures that you are in for a seriously good cup of coffee. Their "Maple Latte" is a delectable blend of freshly pulled shots of espresso poured over maple syrup & vanilla extract, topped with cinnamon infused steamed milk. The adorable yawning-monkey stopper they place over the sipping-hole adds a unique touch. The spot is very near to the Hyland Lake Reserve Park and makes a delicious pick me up after XC skiing or a run around the lake.

Qamaria Yemeni Coffee - Qamaria Latte

There is plenty of parking in the lot outside of Qamaria! The interior is well-done, with elevated finishes and themed decor. I was excited because it looked like a cozy place to grab a coffee! The staff were not very friendly during my ordering process, and just seemed not happy to be at work. Unfortunately, the wifi didn't work for me, so I couldn't actually complete any work. I stuck to reading my book, which was great until they started playing music inside (randomly like an hour after I got there). Now music in a coffeeshop is fine, but this music was staticy, skipped often, and was incredibly distracting. I eventually just got up and continued reading in my car because the workers either couldn't fix it or didn't know how. The Pistachio latte had good pistachio flavor, but I have qualms with a coffeeshop that charges $8 for a latte, and then proceeds to slop it together...no foam, no latte art, and so hot that the milk was scalded. In a world where there is a coffee shop on every corner, you can find better elsewhere for sure. I don't mind paying top dollar for a latte these days, but I deserve it to be well-done.

Thankfully, the pistachio milk cake and pistachio cream cake more than made up for it. Both were rich, creamy, and beautifully flavored with real pistachio and just the right amount of sweetness. The milk cake was soft and soaked perfectly, while the cream cake had a light texture and layered pistachio flavor that felt indulgent but not heavy. The coffee and tea options on the menu looked incredible and unique, especially the traditional Yemeni blends. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy dessert. We'll definitely be back, hopefully next time they'll have that pistachio croissant waiting for us.

By time I reached the register a second person came in help. I ordered the caramella and a matcha latte. The staff were very nice and made sure I liked the drinks I got. Looked like they had a decent assortment of baked goods as well & very reasonably priced. The space was generally quiet and chill. Wasn't super busy but seemed like a place everyone goes to work. I had to think when growing up it may have been considered some kind of sin to suggest serving coffee and light food in a church. "John how dare you spew blasphemy", Sister Mary Francis would say. A very friendly setting that is uber clean. There was a cleaner working while I was there and then someone came from the elevator with more cleaning equipment. I saw a nice display of pastries but tried the pre made sandwich which was still fresh. They feature a light and dark roast in the standard three sizes. The dark roast, which the barista suggested, had a deep roasted flavor with a non-acidic aftertaste. They asked if I would wait while they made a fresh brew for me, and I was glad to have the drink minutes fresh. As great as the product was the attraction is the airy, arty walls and soft lighting for a relaxing almost, shall we say, spiritual awakening. Ok a bit of hyperbole.

They're constantly rotating seasonal latte flavors, and I haven't had a single drink that I haven't enjoyed. They make their pastries in house and many of them are gluten-free and so delicious! You can buy their beans in store, online, and in some local grocery stores such as Lunds and Byerlys. There are tables inside their cafe that are great for working or catching up with friends. I had a private event where Edina Coffee Roasters came with their coffee cart and served drinks. Leading up to the event, Zach was so friendly and helpful. We were able to have custom signature lattes in addition to standard espresso-based drinks and chai lattes for our event. During the event, drinks were made quickly and Zach was super kind and friendly to all of my guests. I'd definitely recommend them for any event! I also attended an espresso making workshop and it was so fun and approachable! It was the perfect balance of information about technique and beans, and hands on learning. I learned how to measure and tamp coffee grounds, pull a shot, steam milk, and do latte art. The workshop was led by the owners, Zach and Sara, who were so kind and clearly passionate about what they do!

The cappuccino had the perfect foam, and we also tried the Trifecta coffee flight, which includes a hot brew, cold brew, and an espresso. I needed a beverage before heading over to be an audience member on The Jason Show. I had also arrived early and needed to kill time. I found this Caribou Coffee nearby and hit the drive-thru. The woman taking my order was cheerful and nice. I rattled off my cell number associated with my perks rewards. I then ordered a large sparkling blackberry lemonade. I approached the pickup window to pay. This woman was delightful to chat with. I paid with a credit card and tipped. Easy peasy! I got my drink. I thanked her and slowly headed over to Fox 9, sipping it as I went. I love the sparking tea line. It's not overly sweet and the fizziness makes me feel fancy. The blackberry was yummy.
