I've tried a LOT of beans from different local roasters and Edina Coffee Roasters has the BEST beans by a long shot. I love their heirloom and ember blends. They're constantly rotating seasonal latte flavors, and I haven't had a single drink that I haven't enjoyed. They make their pastries in house and many of them are gluten-free and so delicious! You can buy their beans in store, online, and in some local grocery stores such as Lunds and Byerlys. There are tables inside their cafe that are great for working or catching up with friends. I had a private event where Edina Coffee Roasters came with their coffee cart and served drinks. Leading up to the event, Zach was so friendly and helpful. We were able to have custom signature lattes in addition to standard espresso-based drinks and chai lattes for our event. During the event, drinks were made quickly and Zach was super kind and friendly to all of my guests. I'd definitely recommend them for any event! I also attended an espresso making workshop and it was so fun and approachable! It was the perfect balance of information about technique and beans, and hands on learning. I learned how to measure and tamp coffee grounds, pull a shot, steam milk, and do latte art. I've enjoyed Edina Coffee Roasters beans at a few local coffee shops before, so I was really excited to finally visit their small roastery location. It's a lovely little shop hidden in a quiet business area. There are only a handful of tables, but I was still able to find a place to sit without much trouble. The coffee was excellent and definitely strong in the best way. The staff was super helpful and clearly very knowledgeable about coffee. Our drinks were delicious. The cappuccino had the perfect foam, and we also tried the Trifecta coffee flight, which includes a hot brew, cold brew, and an espresso. Such a fun way to experience the different flavors of their coffee. I love that they make their syrups in house and offer seasonal drinks. I don't make it out to Edina very often so I was excited to try this place when I was in the area. Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside was a nice welcoming atmosphere with plenty of seating. I wish I had more time to sit inside and enjoy my drink rather than take it to go. The staff were friendly and helpful with all my questions. I decided on their seasonal drink Lykke Latte which is an orange caramel latte with pomegranate drizzle. This shop was on my list of places to try and was easy to get to. Service was quick, even with a few people in line. There was some seating but I decided to take my coffee to go. There is a limited bakery menu so I decided to try the banana bread. It had a good flavor and I enjoyed the walnuts but prefer my banana bread more dense or rich. I will always try the seasonal coffee. There were 3 seasonal drinks offered for fall and all looked enticing. The twilight grove was a blueberry maple latte, made with pure maple syrup. This drink was a good balance of blueberry and maple. It was on the sweeter side of coffees. I like the seasonal options but would be interested in seeming them offer a larger menu. read more

I do not say this lightly...they have the best iced americano that I've ever had! Their espresso is delicious and some of the best I've tried. Staff is always friendly. Excited to have finally checked out ECR as it's the closet coffee shop to where I spent a month recovering from surgery. I have been on a coffee adventure, trying out different local or somewhat trendy coffee shops around town for a while. My mom raved about how good the coffee was here so I had to add it to my list. The barista who I believe is also one the owners greeted me when I walked in and was very friendly the whole time I was there. I appreciated that as I just starting my day. The menu was a bit limited but they have the basics. I decided to try one of the seasonal drinks - Lykke [Lu-Kahi] latte (Orange Caramel Latte with Pomegranate Drizzle), iced. It was good. Ten out of ten - this is a great little coffee shop! Love the vibe. It's smaller but very cozy. The drink menu is smaller but definitely hits all the spots! I ended getting a seasonal treat and seasonal drink, and both were fantastic! The pumpkin snickerdoodle muffin (GF friendly) was so good. Outside was that perfect caramelized crisp when you bit it, but the inside was so fluffy yet dense and not dry at all. Amazing. My drink was also yum - I wish I could remember the name of it! Over on this side of town and wanted to find a local coffee place. ECR came up on a search, so decided to give it a try. I will first say, the coffee was really good. I had one of the monthly special, which had orange caramel and pomegranate drizzle (I know it sounds weird, but it was delicious). The staff were also very friendly. Where it lost some for me and became sort of average is the limited selection of making changes/upgrades to your beverage. There are only 2 types of milk available (whole or oat) and only a few flavors of syrup (I think they make their own, which is awesome, but also explains the limited selection), so if either of those things don't suit you, you might not find something you like here. The wait time in line was also longer than it needed to be; there were only 2 people in front of us and we were in line to place our order for about 10 minutes, part of which, I will admit, was the 2 people in front of us not really knowing what they wanted, but still seemed a little slower than normal. The inside space is a bit cramped, too. It os a smaller space, but it feels like there are too many table to be able to move sufficiently. Overall, I liked the beverage I had, but has some areas that could be a turn-off for some. read more

This place is legit! My wife and I used to own a coffee roasting company and had several coffee shop locations in Indiana. We are serious about our coffee...and it's always a struggle to find that perfect place that truly gets the science AND art it takes to create the perfect cup. Edina Coffee Roasters GETS IT! Nice new coffee shop in town! I stopped here on a Thursday morning during their soft open period and was happy with the service. The price seemed high for an iced vanilla latte, at $7.40 before tip, but it was a nice beverage and I understand it's a small local business. They also offer a nice variety of baked goods, which they mentioned they bake on location. They also offer coffee flights which I'd love to come back and try. The name is a bit misleading because they don't roast their beans on site, but they do offer beans for sale at this coffee shop. There was nice space to sit for a meeting or work on a laptop. I got their trifecta (hot brew, espresso, cold brew). I chose medium/dark roast and they didn't disappoint. The nitro cold brew didn't have that distinct strong taste I usually get at Starbucks and the hot brew wasn't bitter at all. My friend got an americano and it was smooth and had very little to no bitterness. I'll go again to buy beans to brew at home :) we also ordered banana bread and highly recommend it. read more

Very likely the best coffee in the twin cities. This is not your typical coffee shop. If you enjoy sweeter drinks this might not be the place for you (though they do have some flavored lattes, etc.) Now, if you enjoy a cappuccino, cold brew, or some espresso, you have to check this place out. Plenty of parking and they have "FICA" after 2pm, which means the pastries (also yummy) are half off. read more

First, their coffee is fantastic. Unfortunately, the treatment was not. I had purchased a coffee and chose to do a little work in the shop. As most do. After ~60 minutes in the shop, the barista reminded me that they need customers to order something "every couple of hours" as they get busy. There was nobody waiting for a table and nobody in line for coffee. I expressed that I had to wrap up an email and will be on my way. A short time later, a man approached me and said "I had been in the shop for far too long and that it was time for me to go". I packed up my items and left but frankly. their desire to obsess over my stay which was driven by the choice to volunteer at my daughter's school for lunch (I usually work DT) has lost a customer. I was not there for a lengthy amount of time, made a purchase (and tipped) and was not using a table that was in demand. Likely indicative of something larger so I'll just pass on providing business going forward. read more
