Amazed by the ambiance here. Loved the warm and earthy decor with the tropical plants and open seating space. Reminded me of being at a resort. Very classy. I ordered my favorite drink from there called the caramella. Drink made to perfection by the friendly baristas. Wait time wasn't long.

I love Spyhouse! This was my first time going to the downtown location. It was so spacious and cozy. A great place to work or enjoy coffee solo or with a friend. The solid gold is a favorite of mine. I love that it leans more towards a spicy flavor than sweet. Always a hit! Luckily, this location wasn't super busy and I was able to get my drink pretty quickly. Being that it is located downtown, the parking situation isn't my favorite. But I'd definitely go back for a visit!

Spyhouse is connected to a hotel so you'll get a mixture of people staying and people working from home that decided to spend their day here. Where you order is tucked away in the back. When we came on a Tuesday around 230pm it wa's a 2 person operations. They seemed a bit frantic as a line of 6-7 was starting to build up. Not as warm and inviting as the place was. When we asked what a few of the drinks were, you could tell they were over it. But it was just a brief interaction that it didn't affect me much. They also had pretty soft spoken voices so when they make your drink and call out your name, don't be too far otherwise you might never hear them. We ordered: Solid Gold which has turmeric, ginger, and oat milk latte. It was sweetened with maple syrup and topped with pepper. Tonic Youth which is a mango vanilla espresso tonic garnished with rosemary. It comes iced only. I enjoyed the tonic youth a touch more. I think the mango wasn't quite strong but the rosemary came out quite well. The solid gold was yummy but turmeric drinks are one shake too much from being overbearing and I think that was the case. I would order it again but ask for a dash less of turmeric. The ambiance is picturesque. The lighting feels nature. There is enough greenery in the place to help you feel grounded. There are tables, solo desks, comfortable seating, places to chit chat, places to work that gives you options of how you want to spend your time here. There is also a pool table. We played it. But the people working nearby didn't look too happy. Oh well! We had fun. There was a ledge on the planters where we set our drinks.

Iced matcha with almond milk

In town for work and wanted to find a local spot for matcha. This place turned out to be such a gem! It's not your average coffee shop--it's more of a cozy lounge vibe. As soon as you walk in, you notice the energy: people working on laptops, taking calls, catching up with friends, or just relaxing by the fireplace or at the high-top tables. The staff at the counter were friendly and welcoming, and the menu is straightforward and easy to navigate. I also loved that they have seasonal fall drinks, which was a nice touch. Definitely a great place to work, hang out, or just enjoy a good drink in a laid-back but stylish setting. What I ordered: An iced matcha latte with almond milk and honey. It was just right, without being overly earthy or sweet. I also ordered the chia pudding - which reminded me that I could do this delicious and nutritious breakfast at home. The peanut butter complimented it well and I liked the touch of fresh strawberries and strawberry preserves, it sweetened it wasn't too sweet. Definitely would go back again!

Getting some work done!

Docking off a star because the barista wasn't exactly welcoming. Didn't say a word to me when putting in my order which was awkward and off putting. I used to work in food service and get that people might have off days but a simple "Thank you" or "have a good day" would have been enough. But wow what an incredible space! Beautiful decor and lots of seating. They have a fireplace, pool table, and bar all in one place. Great space to get some work done. Jasmine tea lemonade: 9/10 liked that this was not too sweet! Almond croissant: 6/10 a bit overbaked and dry. More dense and not as fluffy as I would have liked

In downtown Minny for work and a friend from home recommended spyhouse. Easy to find entrance inside of the Emery Hotel. Open at 630am which is perfect bc a lot of coffee shops don't open til 7am. Barista was chill. Nice and cozy vibes with plenty of seating. Cold brew is smooth with a hint of chocolate. Sandwiches were also great for on the go. I also grabbed a cold brew growler which was nice to have around the hotel room.

Iced Caramella
Olivia K.

I came in for a nice cold drink of coffee and this place hit the spot for me! First of all, the Caramella had just the right amount of sweetness. They really do their caramel/vanilla syrups well - doesn't taste artificial at all. Second of all, it was a hot day outside and the A/C inside blasting plus the ice in the drink instantly cooled me down. And thirdly, the space inside is really nice - it's super spacious and nicely decorated considering that it's inside the lobby of a fancy hotel.

Strata

This is one of the few coffee shops in the area open on Sunday, so the line was super long. Once ordering the food and coffee came quickly though. The coffee is super tasty and I got the Mill City Strata - an egg/quiche-y breakfast item on top of a focaccia. This Strata was sooo yummy and warmed up it was super cheesy as well! I would highly recommend this place if you're in the area, or need a nice spot to work!

Iron ranger and seasonal tiramisu latte

Really stunning coffee shop. It is technically also the hotel lobby?? The vibe is great and there were plenty of spots to sit and do work on a weekday. Lobby WiFi was good. Service was fine, they made coffee and I tipped. I got the seasonal tiramisu latte which was great, but the iron ranger sandwich was kinda trash. A very wet, mushy, lukewarm sandwich. Thought it would be maybe toasty and warmer. Would recommend coming to try coffee but maybe do lunch at their connehotel restaurant.

Came to spy house coffee roasters as it came highly recommended in the area. It was easy to find thru the skyways and it is very nice looking inside and out. It was packed but we were able to find a table and sit inside and enjoy our beverages. I ordered the spy girl which was good but nothing too special I felt the flavor really lacked and I added a few packets of sugar in the raw to make it taste better. And I usually prefer black coffee. My boyfriend ordered a small hot cocoa which basically was warm milk with a tiny bit of chocolate. For $15 for two drinks it was pricey and there could probably be better coffee options in the area for sure.

Spyhouse offers several specials as well as classic coffee shop fare - I opted for some egg bites (spinach and mozzarella) and a blackberry espresso tonic. The bites were good and the espresso tonic light and fruity. There's plenty of seating/room to work. A great spot to pop in, especially if you're staying at the Emery Hotel!

Atmosphere

I have to rave about this place for a moment. Spyhouse always has magical spaces and places but this one is particularly special as it is MASSIVE. Amazing for large groups as it would be comfy finding a space here to talk about books or other social activities like partaking in some of the games that they have around. The barista who made my coffee was super kind, welcoming, and accommodating to any modifications (i just asked for almond milk and they had so may options!). Lastly it wasn't crazy expensive, about equivalent to a Starbucks but with a much better more cozy atmosphere and a lot more seating!the aesthetic was great; lots of fun decor and neat things to look at!

I'm not a sweet coffee person, I typically order a cappuccino, cortado or an americano. However, it was a REALLY hot day in MN, and I really wanted a cappuccino but iced. Not a lot of coffee places will make this due to the steamed milk. The barista however, delivered! My iced cappuccino was PERFECT. Their coffee was really good, and the location was stunning!

The Ube Latte is well balanced between sweet Ube flavor and coffee and cream. The mixed momo platter comes with meat filled and potato filled dumplings that come with a spicy sauce for dipping. They are perfectly plump, warm and delicious and lend themselves well to a cold day. Absolutely recommend this hidden neighborhood gem if you're in the area (or even if you're not! It's worth it!)

They had a few cute items for sale, like momo merch, stickers and more. I got the black sesame latte which was strong but good. We also ordered potato and chive momos and they were decent. I think it could have used a bit more flavor, a bit starchy tasting. But the soy sauce helps a tiny bit. Would for sure come back to check out more. I was a bit shocked that they had to put signs on some of the lower tables for people to not put their feet on them. In a cafe/food establishment that should be common sense but I definitely get it. As it was busy it was a bit loud but I really like the vibes and aesthetic of this cafe!

Several 2-4 person tables, a couch area near the fireplace, a handful of barstools looking out the window, and a communal table. They even have a few fun swing chairs! AMBIANCE I'd say this is a pretty buzzy spot - at least it was when I came in. The folks meeting and chatting outnumbered the folks working remote/solo, but with headphones on it wasn't too loud. DRINKS I got a hot chai, and it was good! Only downside is I ordered for here and they served in compostable cup - I prefer when ceramic / reusable mugs are given for in-store drinkers. FOOD I didn't order food, but saw several people getting lunch here and looked good. AMENITIES There's a bathroom attached within the building, and a water station. I was super pumped to try their Vietnamese coffee but was pretty disappointed in it. I should've asked what they put in it because it didn't taste like it had condensed milk in it. They also added a nutmeg/cinnamon sprinkle on top that is not what a Vietnamese coffee is. My sister tried their mango smoothie and it was just okay. I can't remember what the smoothie was called and I can't find any updated menus on their site anywhere. North loop is only metered street parking so it can be a b**ch trying to find parking. There seemed to be a decent amount of people inside working on their computers. Overall this seems like a cute place to relax in and get something small.

The interior design is stunning and the fireplace adds a cozy touch. It's always packed no matter the time of day, which shows how popular it is. Unfortunately, the coffee has been consistently disappointing for me. For such a great space, the drinks just don't match the atmosphere. Service has also been a letdown. It feels rushed and transactional, and the staff does not come across as very friendly or welcoming, which takes away from the experience. They do have a nice selection of baked goods, including Cardigan Donuts, which is a plus. Parking is typical for the North Loop. It can be a bit difficult to find right nearby, but there are plenty of options if you're willing to walk a few blocks. Overall, it's a gorgeous space and a great place to meet up or sit for a bit, but the coffee quality and service are what hold this location back for me which is sad because I love other FRGMT locations.

I think Caffetto kind of corners a market that no one else has by being open so late--most coffee shops are barely open past noon, and they're open until midnight! I've personally spent many a late night there finishing up work--it's a really cozy atmosphere, and the selection of pinball machines in the basement are the perfect study break activity. The staff are all great and even when there's a line, they get through it quick and are still able to offer great recommendations--while I usually prefer an iced green tea with no ice, I've tried the lattes, cold press, Thai coffee, and hot chocolate and have genuinely never had a bad drink here. The only thing is to make sure you watch your step if you're walking in the basement--even though it has seating and pinball and the bathroom, it's more of an unfinished space with uneven flooring and I personally rolled my ankle and fell there last year haha.

I love the coziness and the unique artwork in Caffetto. I look forward to coming back at an earlier hour to feed my addiction. But it's great to know I have a go to coffee shop for those afternoon cravings where the decaf tastes just as delightful!
