This is another spot on our beloved BOGO Coffee compass (which you can also buy in store here!). We got our usual lattes (I did one of the seasonal specials which was great). They also have breakfast burritos and sandwiches from a local spot - La Cochinita. We have the chorizo burrito which was incredible! Sunbean is a bright spot in a nice neighborhood. I can see coming here on the darkest gloomy chilly days to this brightly lit, warm inviting shop. This shop invites us in just by the ambiance inside and out. The brewed medium roast is Columbian with hints of citrus according to the barista. The shop is compact and they make wise use of the space but have limited seating, we'll call it cozy. There is a menu and some grab to munch pastries, banana bread Thursdays I've been told. Plenty of signs reminded us they are open on Sundays. read more

We love supporting small businesses and keeping it local so I was really excited to try SunBean Coffee! The staff were so kind and personable and the place is so cute! There was plenty of free off street parking and a handful of seating options inside and out. Our drinks were delicious and they even have coffee flights available. They have baked goods delivered fresh from local bakers. I highly recommend the pop tarts from Fruit & Grain and the breakfast burrito from La Cochinita! SunBean Coffee has a lot to offer when it comes to variety. I've been on a bit of a matcha kick lately, so when I saw they had a Matcha Passionfruit drink, I had to try it. Refreshing and unique! I also couldn't pass up their special--a Churro Cold Brew--which was just as delicious as it sounds. While I was at the counter, I noticed they had a Pop-Tart style pastry from a local baker, so I gave that a whirl too. It was super tasty and a nice touch to see them supporting other small businesses. Overall, everything I tried was really flavorful and enjoyable. That said, it's definitely on the pricier side. The staff was very friendly and easy to chat with, which added to the positive experience. Next time, I'll probably limit myself to just one or two items, but I'll definitely be back when I'm in the mood to treat myself. read more

I love SunBean! It's a smaller coffee shop but the vibes are so inviting! As soon as you walk in you are welcomed and everyone seems so nice and happy to be there. The menu isn't super big but they have monthly specials as well as a ton of syrup options so you can essentially customize your drink however you want. They also have pastries. I ordered one of the March Monthly specials - Tiramisu Brew and it was really good. My mom got a medium roast coffee and she said that was good as well. It's in a pretty quiet neighborhood. This place is awesome!! I was a little thrown off by the reviews saying that the prices were too high. They must be from the suburbs, because for twin cities coffee shop prices - at least in my experience - these prices are, if anything, on the lower end of the spectrum. $3 drip coffee? Oh, ya baby. Let me start by saying...the staff here every time I've been is BEYOND 5 stars: so friendly, so lively, so helpful. I can't say that about many coffee shops or businesses in general so...thank you! My iced vanilla oat latte was okay, nothing that blew me away given the price and my husband felt the same about his specialty cold brew item. Honestly pretty pricey, so I wanted to LOVE my drink for the prices we paid. The pop tart was a delicious treat to get but I wouldn't have gotten it had I know the price in advance, haha! I think SunBean Coffee might just be my new favorite, local coffee shop! Their drinks are fantastic and staff are warm and welcoming. Last time I was here, I tried their drink of the month: Iced Cereal Milk Latte. It was delicious and nostalgic, too, with the lucky charms marshmallows on top. My wife got the drink that put them on the map--salted caramel bourbon cold brew. She loved it. I kind of love this place a lot. It's an utterly charming little urban coffee shop with great drinks and food. Full disclosure: my first visit happened because of a free drink offered to Yelp Elites, but I keep coming back because the idea of stopping in for a coffee and a snack keeps winning me over. I've gotten their mochas and I've been getting their monthly drink specials which are delicious every time. They also have these unique pastries which I think they call "Gourmet Pop Tarts" that are awesome. What I've specifically been doing is stopping here at lunchtime for a coffee, grabbing one of those pastries to eat later, and having it on my desk where my officemates invariably admire it and are jealous of me for having it. You should come here if you want that experience. Beyond that, this is a totally pleasant place to linger, with its cute decor, a bit of patio seating, and service that is as neighborly and upbeat as anyone could want. A couple more notes about their offerings... I like hot coffee drinks and it seems like they are excited about what they do with cold ones, but I'm not an expert in that, but I bet the cold coffee drinks they make are awesome. What a cozy place! They even have " sad light " that will help you with seasonal affective disorder. Helping you be happier! I had Fred's fave. Oatmilk latte with cinnamon. I love it. I don't even care for oat milk more of a soymilk gal. It has very balance flavors. Perfect amount of slight sweetness. This is now also my fave. (Thanks Sunbean) The staffs are friendly and very welcoming and they told me some fun facts: Breakfast sandwiches made by next door bar - Bull's Horn! I stopped in this morning for a breakfast sandwich. There were a few people in front of me, but it felt like it was my turn to order in no time! I asked the barista what kinds of sandwiches they had? Only one; turkey sausage, egg and cheese. Skeptically I asked: how is turkey sausage?! She said she was skeptical at first too but really likes it. Trusting her judgement, I ordered it. She didn't steer me wrong, It was in fact delicious! I love how bright & welcoming the digs are. Definitely somewhere I can see myself having lunch w a friend. Right away I walked in and loved the ambiance. The artwork was beautiful. Quiet space to do some work or grab coffee and food. I got the white chocolate pumpkin mocha. This new local spot is awesome! Fred, the owner, was working behind the counter when I came in and was so pleasant and fun to chat with! I love seeing the mind behind the business working and serving customers and getting to know him as well! The honey oatmilk latte was delicious! I had them make it the "OG" way, and it didn't disappoint strong coffee flavor, sweet without being too sweet. Perfect on a sunny summer day! I also decided to grab some pastries to try as well! I got the peaches and cream and passion fruit blueberry poptarts and they were delicious as well! I don't think they're made in house but still highly recommend! The overall feel of this place was bright, welcoming and chill at the same time. I was surprised how bright it was when I walked in but it gave me an overwhelming sense of fun and friendliness when I was inside. Great addition to the neighborhood! Located just 9 minutes from Lake Nokomis, this coffee shop brings all the sunshine from the peppy baristas, pastries, sun lamps, extremely clean interior and outside patio. Easy free street parking aided in making my visit seamless and I can't help but think what a wonderful addition the sun lamps will be in the winter months. While I did arrive around 10:45 am on a Saturday, the rumor inside was that busy hours are very early in the morning which may be something to take note of considering the inside is quite tiny. Regardless, we had the entire patio to ourselves (4 Adirondack chairs) and enjoyed the good weather, exterior mural, flowers, coffee, and conversation. The baristas helped us select a recommended drink that was something to the extent of a sugar free vanilla latte with homemade cold foam. What a wonderful location! Sunbeam really beams with customer service, professionalism & warmth. I'm sure the caffeine beams as well! The atmosphere is inviting. Crisp white walls with tasteful decor. From the front door and out the back, you're hit with warm and friendly color that continues with the "sunbeaming vibe." Such a cute coffee shop with fun drinks! I got the honey oat milk latte, which I loved. My husband got one of the specialty cold brews which was a lil milky for his typical tastes but was still delicious. They also offer pastries from a local baker. I absolutely love the vibes and how friendly the staff were, even though they were busy. It's a little small inside, but they also have a little patio in the back and a few tables along with window/wall seating (the wall seats have sun therapy lamps available). So nice I had to come back again! Discovered this little spot during a local event and now it's my go to any time I am in the Nokomis area! I love coming here after a walk around the lake and grabbing an Iced Oatmilk Honey drink to cool off. Stopped here for coffee on the way to the lake. People were lined up out the door. It is a small place, so the entrance and counter area got congested quickly. Their drip was good and cheap compared to other places ($3 for a small). I paid with a card and the system was set up so you had to leave a tip. So pay with cash if you don't plan to leave a tip. The whole mandatory tip thing was off putting so I don't t plan to return and don't recommend. read more
