This review is specifically for Brian #911941. I was on the Altamont Pass towing my boat. My SUV lost power and I had to pull over. I called the insurance company and they connected me with Save Tow. They told me it would take about 2 hours. I called Save Tow about 1 hour later to check status and they said it's going to take about 2 hours because they need to find a driver who is experience with towing a car and a boat. Ok understandable. The entire wait time was 3 hours with me calling every hour checking on status. Brian showed up and he was great. Got the SUV on the flatbed pretty quick and he was pretty patient with the tricky hitch on the trailer. He double checked my address and after that we were good to go. I was really impressed with his skills when he dropped off the boat and SUV. He was able to parallel park the boat perfectly and parked the SUV in front of the boat. He did all of this with a positive attitude even though he had just driven through a long stretch of traffic. If you ever are in an emergency and Brian happens to be your tow driver, you're in good hands! read more

The driver Jesus show up without mask after office requested that we need wear mask all the time he decline the service because the license plate was expired (under stable) what's unacceptable is the way that this employee talk to clients (very disrespectful, rude) after his allegations he droves away 20 miles per hr in a parking lot with a big truck. Bass fishing sounded good for a Friday so I hooked up my boat and headed out like I have a thousand times when my 2002 GMC pickup fuel pump decided it no longer wanted to pump fuel. Losing power while towing a boat is never a good feel but it happened to me today. I was able to coast off on the Portola off ramp 51 eastbound 580. Not going fishing and gotta call AAA. That's a whole other 5 star review. I was told a truck would be on the way in under 2 hours. That's a very long time I was thinking but what was I going to say? Not only did I need my truck towed but there was no way I was leaving the boat out there so they needed to tow that too. Oh, new thing. AAA can no longer take passengers in their trucks so you need your own ride. Within 10 minutes, Save Tow called me to tell me that Mario would be arriving in 25 minutes. Yay! Way better than 2 hours right? Now, I've never driven a tow truck but my guy, Mario made it look easy. Mario was real good at what he does. I realized that this guy had been doing this for a while. Yes, risking his life for unlucky people like me. Oh, that risk is real. If you pull to the shoulder of any freeway, get out of your car (do not do this) and look around. Cars going 80 mph, 10 or 15 feel away. He didn't waste a minute and my truck was on the bed. Next he hooked up my boat and we were outta there! He dropped my boat at my house and the truck at my service shop around the corner also getting 5 stars. Save Tow did as good a job as humanly possible and I wanted to thank the man on the phone, supercool, and Mario. If I had a fleet of tow vehicles, Mario would be my top guy. I was left for 2 hours to have a call back saying they can't find me and I wasn't there and I'm basically shit out of luck. No apology for no phone call when they were in the area and no one can come back for me? The told me to call someone else, or back later. So I have now been on the side of the road for 3 and a half hours now because it takes another hour and a half to get a tow truck here. My friend was in a car accident in Livermore, the police department called this Tow Company to get the car out of the way. The Tow Driver's name is ANTHONY he is the Latin guy from the start he had an attitude not helpful at all. It was very strange to me because we have used this company many times before and we have used our insurance company to pay for the service and this is the first time that we have such bad experience. Anthony did not ask what company we had for insurance until we gave him the AAA card and he threw it back rudely saying it is expired. He made a phone call to ask what the base rate is someone told him $245 for an hour and he turned around and said "You will need to pay for the service it out of pocket for the tow and I won't drop the car until is paid". We told him that the price seemed high we have paid as much as $110 for a tow and the accident was right by our house the tow was less than a mile away. We asked him if how much to tow the car somewhere else and he said he was not sure how much it would cost since he started charging as soon as he received the phone call?? We just ended up taking it to the house, when he got to our house he keep saying he was not going to be able to drop off the car because he needed more space. ANTHONY took his time to take our payment ended up having room to do the work finally the car is at our house. He noticed that the car is totaled and suggest that we sing the car over to them so that the insurance company pays and the process goes faster "He told us after the car was off the tow truck!!!". We said NO thank you he left a few minutes go by he turned around got out took pictures of the car and left again? I hope that I am not in need in the future of a tow company because this experience was not acceptable. I would expect customer service since we did ended up paying the $245 and tow guys are usually very helpful. it seemed to me that he was trying to take advantage of the situation since we did not have the best state of mind after a car accident where the car is totaled. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of blowing a tire on Vasco; luckily it wasn't apparent/that bad until I got to the bottom. After pulling into a gas station lot, I called my supervisor (thinking I would be god knows how late) then called AAA. Save Tow has the AAA contract for that area of Livermore and arrived only 15 minutes after I called AAA. That response time is UNHEARD OF, especially considering you call AAA then they relay the information to the local tow company they contract with. Robert was polite, fast, incredibly efficient and changed my tire in only TEN minutes (including the jacking/unjacking, removing the locking lugnuts, replacing the tire then putting the PITA lugnuts back on - this is a lot of work and should give you an idea of how quick he was). I tipped him $5 and was so grateful to be on my way to work and only 20 minutes late. I even called them after I had left to give my thanks and commend Robert on a job well done. The supervisor was just as polite as Robert was and very grateful for the feedback. Breaking down is scary. Vasco is terrifying. I'm so glad for Save Tow helping me in my time of need! read more

Got a blowout tire on our fifth wheel on 580 in the middle of the freeway. A very nice CHP arrived to see if he could help. Said he would call a local tow company they use and it ended up being this company. After hours of waiting we received a call from a women at this company who stated they didn't have anyone to help us because there trucks do not carry jacks. Kinda weird. Reason for the review is she was so extremely rude! She basically said she was doing us a favor by even calling us to let us know they were not coming and there's lots of tow companies out there so to find a new one. This place was used as part of my AAA roadside service. In short, when I inspected my vehicle after it was towed, my vehicle was damaged. There were a few significant dents that weren't there prior to the tow. The manager was not helpful and communication with Save Tow was horrible. A one star review is generous, I guess. Exceptionally bad experience!!!! I called them today (September 8, 2018 around 1pm) to get my car keys out of my car. I was given an estimate of 40-60 minutes. At the hour I called for a status update and was told it would be another 20 minutes because they were busy that day. I waited 25 minutes (spoke to a new dispatcher) before calling again to be told they would be here in ten minutes. Nope. I called twenty minutes later and they swore he was almost here. When he did arrive (2:45ish) he showed me his cell phone call history which showed that the first dispatcher did not even give him he order! Not till the second dispatcher called him at 2:26 did he even know about my car. I got a measly discount of $10 which does not make up for the two kids under five being over an hour late for their naps. I chose this company because they had over 200 good Yelp reviews. Im writing this review because I kept getting emailed the reminder to take the survey, which I rated everything poorly. Well on 10/13 I called because I wanted a new car battery installed and I get a good member discount, through AAA. But from sadly what I learned, I guess the battery has to be beyond dead I guess. They won't sell you one regardless. The battery has to be piss shitty bad in order to replace it. But like if you're lucky to start the car up every other day and it's starts but it's just bordering being very bad (even if you test with the headlights on and if it dims to very dark or off when you start it), they won't sell you it. They're testing instruments suck in my opinion and Autozone says it's barely holding a charge when I went in the following weekend and they do say it's about anytime I could be stranded. Let me tell you about the serviceman, which I'm sure he wasn't in a good mood and had a fake nice attitude to cover it up. As I said earlier per the above after his routine testing and that the battery is ok, I advised otherwise that its a bad battery and if we can test it again with the lights turned on and start it up, it will dim and it will struggle to power the starter. He disagreed and said "Nope I cannot do it, you're battery tested good. It's against policy to change this battery for another good battery. And if I do this, I lose my job and what can I do after that to support my two kids?" I mean really buddy!?!!? Reeeeeeelly, you had to say something that personal??! "I don't mean to sound like a total Dick sir but, I'm keeping my job to support my kids.. but hey if it tests show bad the next time we'll replace it" I was pissed. I calmy though said whatver and I just hurried and disconnected all the shit equipment he connected and as I was about to close the hood he said " oh wait sir lemme put the battery cap protector for you... (cuts infront of me and puts in on) There you go.. have a good night" I floored and burned a mushroom cloud from my screeching tires like a bat outta hell. And didn't offer me to give me the test results. So I called the dispatch guy at this location and complained about why my battery I never was able to be sold one because of these ok tests, yelling and he pretty much was cutting me off saying the same stuff and that they can't do anything about it. To all you folks with AAA roadside assistance membership thinking of buying a battery with them, so you don't have to do all the work of buying your own battery from the dealer or autozone etc. . Better off buying your own battery and install ing it yourself. Not through AAA so called battery install service. They're good and only good to give you a jump. That's it. You've been warned. Battery lost about its last drop of juice this Halloween week I ended up getting one at my local autozone. read more

Headed out to my family get together this morning when my car had other plans. With over 300gs miles I thought I've got this. Nope!!! With 2 young kids with me engine light came, car was jerking and barely made it safe to the shoulder. Of all places on I was on the Altamont scary situation for me. I didn't want to push my car to extreme limit so thank goodness I have AAA. This isn't my first time using however it's my first time having my kids with me!!! Brian* was the gentleman that came to the rescue for me, and I was surprised how quick they called to check on me! They even had a GPS tracker they can text you, and it gives your EXACT location! Yesterday was a bad day. Driving home on 580 Eastbound from Dublin to Tracy when my tire pressure gauge went off going from full to 0 before I could even make it to the shoulder. Fudge (not what I actually said, but you get my point). Call AAA and my estimated wait for a tow was 193 minutes. Fudge fudge. I'd have to wait on a narrow shoulder just after a curve for 3 hours! FRACK! Then Save Tow to the rescue. About 15 minutes later an angel of a young lady called (can't remember name) and let me know that she had a driver that would be there within minutes! OMG THANK YOU! Jacob got there within a few minutes and not only towed my car to my desired location, but also offered to drop the key in the night box for me so I could get home. They were both so gracious and kind. Save Tow's staff is OUTSTANDING! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Not that I wish anyone car trouble, but if you're stuck, Save Tow is AWESOME! I ran out of battery charge on my Tesla at Morgan Territory Regional Preserve (yes, very bad judgment). Although I had a very spotty cell signal, I managed to call AAA and they eventually got SaveTow to come out and get me out of a self-inflicted bad situation. They were the only ones in Livermore who had a flatbed truck (required for Teslas), had Tesla training and hence were authorized by Tesla to tow Teslas for AAA, and they agreed to come out into the country (at least 10-20 miles into a remote regional park) on a Sunday. Brian was the tow truck driver based in Livermore. He was pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, professional and efficient. He got the vehicle jump started (I didn't even know Teslas had to be jumpstarted if the battery drained to such a large extent), loaded it up on the flatbed, drove carefully and dropped me off at the supercharger. Kudos to SaveTow and Brian for getting me out of a tough situation! read more
