We went and tried Sauce'd tonight. Food was great. We had the Honey Pep Texas Style pizza and the Bourbon Jam smash burger with fries. We also had the garlic cheese bread for an appetizer, not pictured. All of the food came out hot a fresh and very very good! The pizza had the cup pepperonis and a light drizzle of Mikes hot honey. It was good but not really my style of pizza, personal preference. The burger was delicious. Super meaty and the sauces on it complemented each other very well. The fries were hot and crispy, even after they sat for a while. I would definitely recommend this place but if you go just know the dining room is small, we had to wait a bit to be seated and the waiting area is not very big either. We don't live close enough to take out but would if we did. I definitely recommend this place just make sure you plan. Wow. We had a 25 minute wait but that just left me confident that the food was going to be good. The service was quick and accommodating. The restaurant had the vibe of a burger joint (which they also serve) but you could see the cooks throwing dough in the background. The Texas style crust was awesome, and crunchy. We were given the option to have New York or Texas style crust. There was no question of which one we would get after the waitress told us about the garlic butter sauce that comes on the Texas style! This place may look unassuming, but man, they make an EXCELLENT burger! This thing was so flavorful and juicy, like reeeeally juicy. Like you should only eat it with your family and your besties because you will likely look a mess while eating it. But who cares, because this burger sparks joy. When we came, they were super busy with every table filled and it seemed like one young man was the only one available to serve all the tables and bus them (it's a small joint, but still). He was so on top of it though, very friendly, and did his job with a smile (which is sadly a rare sight these days). We ordered fries with our burgers, but unfortunately they had just run out. But it happens, and clearly they were slammed so no big deal. They loaded us up with chips to help make up for it. Excellent experience here. After a long night of delivering food to other people, my husband and I were craving some grub of our own and decided to stop in to Sauce'd. It was close to where we were at the time, and the menu was intriguing. We popped in, were quickly seated, and ordered 2 small pizzas as well as some cheesy garlic bread and a salad. My pizza was their spicy Hawaiian with ham, pineapple, fresh jalapenos, and hot honey. My husband did a BYO with their signature Texas crust, ricotta, ham, and black olives. Both pizzas were absolutely delicious! The hot honey really made my pizza, and left me with quite a good burn in my mouth. The side salad helped calm things down a bit, lol. My husband pizza was super tasty, and the crust basically ended up being like a stuffed crust with creamy ricotta filling. Would definitely like to come back for more! Word to the wise for those who like to reheat their pizza, my pizza did not reheat at all. I ended up having to throw away my leftovers, which made me really sad! I think the honey soaked into the cheese and crust, and even after reheating in a toaster oven (which normally results in delicious, crispy pizza) the whole thing was just sort of a gooey, slimy mess. This place is freaking amazing. The staff is always happy and cheerful; regardless of how busy they are. They're so popular the past few nights they have completely run out of everything in the store, despite being fully stocked at the beginning of the day. We're used to that with bbq joints but not pizza places. That's how you know they are amazing. They are BYOB for now, but are applying for a beer and wine license of their own so fingers crossed the city of Grapevine approves it. The young man asked me whether I wanted thin and crispy or Texas style crust on my pizza? (Out of towner again) I asked what's the difference?? To which he replied both were essentially thin and crispy BUT with Texas style they fold the crust inward and all the sauce and toppings are on the inside! Then cheerfully pointed to a neighbor's table who had ordered the Texas style, looked good and well I was in Texas so let's do it! Shortly after he brought my drink and within about 5-7 minutes I had a hot basket of garlic bread with cheese on it. Looked like one half of a baguette covered with plenty of melted cheese. Super tasty and the garlic really came through but not obnoxiously. Good marinara as well (ranch is also an option I was told). Within about 10 minutes or so I had a glorious looking Texas style pizza in front of me and let me tell you a perfectly crispy crust like nothing I've ever tasted, just the right amount of fresh basil and that folded over part was crispy on the outside and slightly doughy on the inside. Delicious! Texas style is the ONLY style for me at his place. The waiter checked in with me the appropriate number of times throughout and was terrific. I'm from NY/NJ area where pizza is a staple and is always amazing. I ordered the 8" personal cheese pizza ...they quoted me 40min-1hr which isn't bad for a friday night. We had been wanting to try this place for a while based on the strong reviews. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype for our visit. I looked back through the reviews and while most are positive, our experience is pretty similar the less positive ones. Occasionally they are just missing the mark. We were there on a Saturday night, waited about 20 min for a table. The place is tiny which is why there's always a wait. We ordered a Texas pizza and two smash burgers. Although our server was very friendly, the kitchen was very slow. Our pizza took 15 min and the burgers almost 40 min. The explanation we got was that they were filling a "large to-go order." The Texas pizza was slightly burned and the burgers were dry and crunchy like chips. I like a crisp edge on my smash burger but this was too much. So while most people seem to have a good experience they missed the mark on food and service for us. read more
