Wow! What an amazing experience overall at Mister 01 pizza. They claim to have extraordinary pizza and I must say everything about Mister 01 was a hit. We loved the Star Luca with pepperoni. The ricotta stuff in the stars was tasty. We spread it over the pizza and delicious. The crust is thin and tasty made with just a few ingredients and they proof it for 72 hours. The manager, Oliver said they do this so it's easier to digest. Then we had the salad Laura with Burata Stracciatella cheese, fresh cut tomatoes, croutons and fresh sliced parmesan cheese. I sprinkled some balsamic vinegar on top and this is a winner salad. So much that we took 1/2 of it home. Our server, Victoria was great, welcoming and passed our meal service with a great tone. The first time I came here I was mildly impressed. On my second visit I was very impressed. Walking in, the place is sparsely appointed, but classy in a very simple way. Their air conditioning works really well, so if you tend to get cold, bring a jacket or sweater. My server "T" came and introduced herself within a minute of me being seated. I was impressed because it was during their lunch hour. She did a great job throughout my visit. I ordered the MIMMO Pizza and the Azzurra Salad. If you're in the area and not a local...there's a good chance at you're staying at one of the resorts. When you think of resort food, pricing and meh usually come to mind. These are perfect reasons to go offsite for some good food! We have been here a few times. The pizza is unique, tasty and the environment is friendly to groups and kiddos. I've ordered a few of the star pizzas. The crust is filled with ricotta cheese and is tasty. Every pizza that we've ordered has hit the mark. For the kiddos, the friendly staff brings the little ones pizza dough to play with. It's a great way to pass the time while you're waiting for you meal. Mister O1 is right off of Main Street Grapevine. This pizza is phenomenal and truly earns its Michelin Guide recommendation! The pizza absolutely stole the show we had the Star Luca and Star Claudio half-and-half and the crust stuffed with ricotta was next-level. The balance of cheese and meat was spot on, rich without being overwhelming. The burrata appetizer was fresh and delicious, and while the salad was surprisingly filling, the pizza is definitely the main event here. Service was excellent, and the overall experience felt thoughtful and high quality. They also offer gluten-free and vegan options, which is a big plus.Ambiance is cafe like. My glowing review for Mister O1! This place is amazing. Seriously, if you are seeking out a notable, delicious pizza - look no further! We were able to be seated in the afternoon on a Sunday. Service was pretty good! We got two pizzas for the table (The Elisa and Star Michele), along with a burrata appetizer with crunchy bread, arugula, tomatoes, and balsamic glaze. It was all fantastic. My favorite was the Elisa, which is perfect for sweet and salty lovers. Think honey, truffle, and lots of cheese! They provide olive oils (regular and spicy) to dip in, and the spicy one was so good, we purchased one to take home. My only complaint is I ordered one of the pizzas with garlic, and it didn't come with it, though we were charged for it when the check came. The restaurant is bright and clean. This location is one of many in the country! I did not realize it was a chain until our server told us that the founder is Italian and came over to the US to start a business. The business grew and he opened a handful of other locations around the country. Ambiance: The restaurant is casual, but had a lot of intentional use of the space. There were wine racks, and even a private room where they have pizza making classes ($195 per person ). Service: Our server was Michelle. She was so kind as we danced around the idea of sitting on the patio vs indoors. The patio only had about 2 seats and it was windy that day. We decided to sit inside. Michelle was very friendly, and came by often to check in on us. Food: The pizzas are made in-house and very thin, just like the ones I've had in Italy. They have traditional pizzas and their famous "star" shaped pizzas. We decided to order the star Carlos pizza. The pizza blended Spanish/Mexican and Italian cuisines together by mixing Spanish chorizo, avocado, jalapeño, with ricotta, fresh tomatoes, and Italian Parmesan cheese. I've been to the Dallas location as well. The pizza is unique as you can see with the star shape. The ingredients are fresh and the pizzas I've had here are delicious. Thin crust and I love the heavy ricotta cheese on the Star pizza. We also tried half of the pizza Star Carlos with the avocado on the side for the husband. Both are good but I think my favorite is the Star Luca. Simple ingredients. Their salads are also very good and they are huge, great for sharing. My favorite is the Caesar. Service is great. They have a nice little wine list and offer Italian beer, blond or red ale. They offer to go and have a separate area for pickup which is nice. Ah man, I was so excited to try the vegan pizza, but they would be better off serving the pizza without cheese and just doubling the sauce. I get that vegan cheese can be weird, but it can be done well and unfortunately this was just really unpleasant. Have I maybe found the best pizza in the DFW area? Is it pretty dang close to NY pizza? (Hell to the yes!) Will I try to convince my husband to make this a weekly date spot but ultimately settle for once a month? (Absolutely!) In the end, I went for the ricotta crust (though a little mozz in there would've taken it to the next level), and we got the Star Luca with the Calabrian sausage. Let me just say--NYC crust perfection! Crispy, chewy, with just the right amount of char. YUMMMY. There wasn't a crumb left, and honestly, I probably could've eaten a whole pie by myself (and then regretted every glorious bite). But half a pie? That was just right. We briefly contemplated a salad, but at $11 a pop, it seemed like a waste when I can whip those up at home any day. I'm already looking forward to trying the more traditional style pizza and getting my hands on some of that Jimmy's sausage next time! Now, the only downside: they serve water in plastic cups, and when I asked for ice, they brought out another plastic cup. That's 3 plastic cups that will outlive me! I ordered my pizza to go and when I asked how long I was told 20 minutes which was great because I was 15 minutes away so I planned to arrive to hot pizza from the oven. We tried the Ginger Lilliam pizza. The dough was undercooked and the pizza was really floppy. Maybe it was an off night, but it just wasn't a great pizza. The ingredients sounded interesting, but the execution just wasn't there. I expected more of a creamy texture based on the cheese, but this was just kind of weird and dripping wet. I picked the slices up to let the excess wetness drip off. I would suggest for anyone dining here to request a pizza well done/extra crispy so you can actually pick the slice up and eat it without having to fold it.
