Service is Super, really welcoming and makes you feel at home. Strongly recommended it if you are traveling alone, specially if you are a woman. I felt pampered and really appreciated it here.

My wife and I went for the first time before a PPAC event. It is a nicely laid-out space. The tables have sufficient room around them, and the bar is large and spacious. We sat at the bar like we usually do. Our server was cheerful and pleasant and gave good suggestions for cocktails and food choices. She crafted some great cocktails. They were very innovative, and they utilized some of their house-made infusions. We started with a burrata and beet salad, which was great. The burrata was sourced locally and had a lot of flavor. My wife had the lobster ravioli as an entree. The pasta was fresh, and there was plenty of lobster, which is not usually the case. It was also topped with two scallops that were very well prepared. I had the tenderloin special. It was quite large. I estimate you got an ounce of tenderloin. It was perfectly prepared to my liking and had a fabulous sauce as an accompaniment. It was paired with some of the most crunchy and fabulously prepared french fries. I thoroughly enjoyed it and ended up taking half of it home for lunch the next day. Lastly, I think the value was pretty good for the quality you received. I would give this place a try next time you are in Providence.

This place was a 10/10 NO NOTES!!! Everything from the decor, the fast and friendly service people (I even think we met the owner!) the people there went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was properly taken care of. I have the habit of asking the waiter for rec' and we decided to go with all his recommendations of the calamari ensalata, the Caico Pepe (add steak tips!) and the focaccia. Man oh man from the first bite to the last, my partner and I look back and forth at each other in agreement that we made the right decision of coming here on a Friday night at 1030pm!! Thank you again Sarto and people GO HERE!!!

We went to SARTO for the New Year's Eve event for $320.00 (tip included...no drinks). There was a sold out crowd with a 4 course meal. Overall, the service and food was excellent. Definitely not worth the money, but it was New Year's Eve. We were expecting a little more from the Burlesque show and the DJ. The oysters were a 5/5 The pancetta wrapped scallop was a 4/5 The Zuppa De Vongole was a 5/5 The Braised Short Rib was a 5/5 The Seared Cod 2/5 (Burnt Rabe and sauce on the Cod tasted too much like tomato paste. The Salted Caramel Creme Brulee 5/5 Espresso Panna Cotta 4/5 We ordered some drinks off of the menu with dinner and they were all great wine choices with dinner. Drinks were charged separately. The staff really did a great job getting the food out and making the night enjoyable. I would definitely go back to Sarto on a regular night. They are great restaurant, just didn't meet my expectations for entertainment on New Year's Eve. I thought the event was promoted to be better than it actually was.

I went here on Valentines day with my Fiancé, we wanted to have a special Valentine's Day as it is our first one engaged. Upon arrival we were sat right away, which I am happy about on such a busy night. Everything was delicious, they had a prefix menu, which is the only reason why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, bc we were not made aware of this at any point and it was disappointing to find out upon getting sat, as I was excited to eat a pasta on the menu I love from there and it wasn't on the prefixed menu, unfortunately. But other wise it took us out of our comfort zone and we tried something different and it was so beyond delicious. Everything was decorated beautifully for the holiday and I loved the live singer. We had a wonderful night!

We went to Sarto last night and had a wonderful experience. We found a seat right away at the bar and were greeted by Gabrielle the bartender. The service was quick and the food was delicious. If you order anything, make it be the house made focaccia. The dipping oil has a little acidity from white balsamic that made the dish really fresh. I will give a warning that the food is RICH. I ordered with my heart and had to take a few things home because it was heavy. The music in the restaurant was reminiscent of high end eateries in Italy, very low key and instrumental.

I had a bite of my friend's ragu and it was so delicious, I'd say that's the one to get. I got the ricotta sachetti with butternut squash which was also pretty good, but grew a bit monotonous over time. Nice vibes with the live jazz, and good service.

I can only walk by a restaurant on my daily hot girl walk so many times before my curiosity gets the best of me & I have to try it out. So, at long last, I tried Sarto Restaurant. Shotgun review: - Creative, moody, modern interior - High ceilings, so very echoey - Wonderful, accommodating staff* - Pretty cocktails, but not quite right** - Tasty crudo, but also not quite right*** - Gluten-free pasta alternatives & delicious ragu - Bathroom needs some TLC *From the jump, the staff was wicked friendly & accommodating. We wanted to sit at the bar, but there was a large party of folks standing around in just the right way so that there weren't two adjacent seats available. The bartender was fast as lightning, somehow getting two bar stools next to each other in just a few minutes. This bartender meant business & absolutely deserves praise & a raise. Thanks! After we ordered the crudo, another staff member came out to tell us there would be a delay on the order. No problem for us, really. We're certainly not picky like that & we weren't in a rush. But still, the sweet employee offered us bread to enjoy in the meantime. We declined, since I can't eat gluten. We suggested olives & she said, basically, "say no more!" & olives appeared in front of us within minutes. Thanks! **The cocktails were pretty to look at, but strange. I think the proportions were off on the "Absolutely Smashing Love" cocktail (mezcal, strawberry-basil shrub, lime) because it was wicked vinegar heavy. I get it, shrub, but it was definitely off. The rum punch was even stranger. A proportion disaster, I think. See my attached video & photo. It was a whole show, with an orange set aflame & nutmeg sprinkled over the fire. However, the result was about 2 oz of liquid. That CAN'T be right. It's listed on the menu as "big & tall" (figure of speech, I know) & "higher alcohol, bold flavors" but it wasn't any of those things. So 2 oz of liquid for $16 is definitely a miscalculation. We ordered it twice, for science, & the second came out just as strange as the first. ***The tuna crudo was tasty, but it was heavily seared. It was good, but a misrepresentation of crudo. All of that said, I would still come back. I think Sarto is best for a plate of pasta & a glass of wine. PS - A high life + campari CANNOT be $13. Get real.

We have walked past this restaurant several times during our many visits to PVD. Sarto is located on the corner of Dorrance and Weybosset Streets, close to the Arcade. The interior is very well designed. A bit of brick wall, high wooden ceilings with steel girders, clean lines of natural materials softened by white fabric curtains hung between the bar and dining area softly moving in a breeze from the open door. You can see the care used intentionally creating this space. A small balcony area is located above the dining room, overlooking the bar with a large window wall overlooking Weybosset Street to brighten the space. Used as an overflow dining area on busy nights, you can reserve this space for private parties. The food is also well curated. Many ingredients are sourced from Italy making for a more authentic tasting Italian meal. Courses are sized appropriately to the Italian way of dining. Enough to satisfy while leaving room for the courses to follow. Don't worry, you will *not* leave hungry! Most items are a fusion of Italian and American ingredients while adhering to the intent of the original Italian recipe. IMHO. I chose Sachetti from the Pasta menu. These are small 'bags' of pasta, stuffed with cheese and served in a squash puree. Think of a ravioli type pasta, but in the shape of a tiny drawstring bag. This was an excellent dish for me. The pasta is well cooked retaining it's integrity, making it possible to cut the sachetti in half and it holds it's shape. The sauce includes bits of apple, almonds and butternut squash. My dining companion chose the Pasta Al Pomodore. There is a gentle spiciness to this tomato sauce. Very appealing. The Tagliatelle is cooked a perfect al dente. Toothsome without leaving any 'raw' pasta in the middle. Needless to say, we both devoured our selections. This menu offers plenty of items I would definitely return to try. Scallops, Puttanesca, Ribeye, Panzanella. The broccolini on the antipasto menu looks good as does the Formaggio selection. Desserts include a local Gelato and three types of cake. The bar offers a large wine by the bottle menu, listed by type (red/white/dessert) and location (Italian Region/Domestic). Also available are a variety of Grappa, Amari and Cordials. Beginning to end you can start with Aperitivo and go through all the courses to dessert including the appropriate accompanying wine or liquor if you so choose. Or are hungry enough. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The food was well prepared, the recipes well crafted. I am very glad we stopped in to Sarto and look forward to our next visit.

The food is excellent! I was visiting for a work trip and went twice that week! I had the Scallop dish and oxtail ragu. Both were unbelievable delicious! I also told some friends to go after work. The service was great for a solo visit or for a group. The ambiance was very nice for dinner, soft dim lighting. I will be back!

My girlfriends and I had been seeing a lot of Instagram action spotlighting Sarto so we figured why not?! We started with the ricotta toast and were a little underwhelmed but still tasty. An assortment of cocktails and entrees were chosen and enjoyed. I especially enjoyed my Porchetta it was chefs kisses. So crispy. I want to come back and try the 30 day aged ribeye. I'm glad Sarto didn't fall flat like a lot of places plastered all over Instagram.

Sarto elevates Italian cuisine and bridges comfort food with culinary expertise. Both pasta dishes were absolute showstoppers: the smoked mushroom cacio e pepe reimagined a classic with depth and complexity, while the ragu di coda di bue demonstrated traditional technique with modern finesse. The restaurant's intimate atmosphere made for a perfect date night destination.

    Angel S.

Nice cozy atmosphere for a night out with good service. I had highs and a low with what I ordered; the highs being the carbonara fries, the mussels, and the blue hibiscus tea drink but my scallop entree was a fail. The scallops were good but the dish was not well rounded at all, it came over shaved brussel sprouts. This entree could have given more.

We ordered drinks before the meal. I had a Vermont Red Ale for the first time which was very good and worth remembering. At this time they were serving'cocktails for a cause' in support of the Alzheimer's Association, which my other half decided to have. The drink, Fuchsia Butterflies ($15), was made solarium gin, house-made lemoncello, with a Gran Classico & Violet Rinse. It was quite excellent. I had a sip to try (I am usually not one for cocktails) and enjoyed the taste. Perhaps I will try cocktails in the future. For food we shared curry moules frites, well done, just how I like them, and salt and vinegar Wings - tasty but too salty which detracted from the dish. We ended with a good chocolate mint creme brûlée. The check came to $80 to which we added a decent tip for our friendly server, Triston. We also can't get enough of the seafood dishes -- especially the paella and grilled octopus -- and the chouriço always brings that familiar Portuguese flavor I grew up with. The small plates are perfect for sharing, and trying different things each time has been so much fun. Plus, the touches of Mexican flavor throughout the menu just make my heart happy. Not the kind of place I really want to sit in and enjoy a cocktail. Dungeon like. The music is loud hip hop, not something I mind, but worth noting if thats not for you. I sat at the bar, and honestly didn't feel like it was super clean. I don't think the counter had been wiped down for a while. Staff were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. I was watching them make the cocktails and did not feel like it was very sanitary. They've got one small sink they're rinsing everything in, they were chucking stuff, literally chucking and slamming metal. They were dumping out people's drinks into the same side of the sink and then rinsing in the other side. But stuff was splashing into what should be the clean side. It's not a good setup for a cocktail bar. The cocktail menu had 8 drinks on it, 2 they were out of. Nothing had whiskey in it. I got a drink called Darjeeling something. Really didn't like it, didn't taste balanced and it looked different than someone else's who ordered the same thing, not sure if the bartender forgot an ingredient. The bartender also wasn't tasting the drinks which I usually see to ensure it was made correctly. This one had curry in it as a listed ingredient and it was just way too strong a flavor. It was a rum drink with some mezcal but it just tastes like mezcal and curry powder. The place was pretty busy but people were coming and going frequently. There's only one bathroom which really isn't enough for a bar. Seems like there's potential here but I didn't like the menu offerings and the sanitary concerns leave me with no desire to come back here.

Another bonus is the view. Looking out across the street at the park lit up at night is gorgeous and really adds to the vibe of the place. The only downside is parking, which can be a little tricky depending on when you go. But honestly, once you're inside and the food hits the table, it's totally worth it. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to

The drinks were great! I tried the margarita flight and was very pleased with the classic margarita…read moreand the blackberry vanilla margarita. The food was awful. We ordered one taco each (different flavors) and neither of us could even finish it, it was that bad. Additionally, I have a severe gluten allergy and they were making an accommodation to what I ordered (grilled fish instead of fried), but initially when they brought me my taco, it had been made with fried fish and I had to tell them so that they could re-make it. I'm glad that I noticed, but because of that, I would not consider them food allergy-friendly and wouldn't risk eating there again. That being said, the waitress admitted that they were understaffed, so it's possible that we may have had a better experience on a different night.
